ARC Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
This is a beautiful restaurant in the Fairmont Waterfront. The ambience is spectacular - you can enjoy beautiful views from within the restaurant, there is live music and there is ample space for a large get-together.
I've been to Arc many times, including back when it was Heron's. We went on a Friday evening, and it happened to be Dine-Out.
Service was remarkably slow - we were ignored for the first 20 minutes that we sat at our table, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. Service didn't improve once we ordered. Our server was not rude in the slightest - just completely inattentive.
The food from the Dine-Out menu was not enjoyed by any of us. I eat fish, but not other meats - I ordered the ling cod, but there was a very noticeable aroma and taste of bacon on the vegetables on my dish. My other friends who ordered the pasta and beef where also underwhelmed.
I think the point of Dine Out is to make people try new restaurants to find a new spot they like - this experience actually did the opposite; despite my previous positive experiences, I would not go back to Arc.
Again, beautiful restaurant, great location, mediocre food and mediocre to deficient service.
We went there for dine out. The environment was nice and cozy with live music. We both ordered the tuna tartar as appetizer and it was a great disappointment- the tuna didn’t taste fresh and the crispy chip on top of the tuna was soggy.
After the appy we didn’t expect much from our entree- we had ling cod- good portion, taste was fantastic! And dessert was good too. My friend ordered a hot chocolate with baileys and I ordered black tea with sugar and milk.
Overall it was good so I will give 4 stars.
Had a good experience at arc restaurant overall, only nitpicks were the tuna tartare was quite bland and unflavorful, but the beef cheeks were spot on and the chocolate cake dessert was out of this world. Our server was extremely courteous and accommodating as well. As we were seated rather close to the lounge, the noise level was a bit unbearable as it was difficult to talk or communicate to the person in front of me. Live music is a great touch but need to save the loud music for the lounge instead of the dinner area. Suggestion to pick a seat closer to the back end of the restaurant!
The overall service was good, however the lighting was so dim we could barely see each other. The portions are very small and overpriced for their quality and size, the bar however made good drinks. After several visits to this restaurant we will not be retuning, the music was also way too loud.
Our server vivienne was outstanding! Made my husband feel so special for his birthday. Quite evident this restaurant has standards of customer service they teach their employees and only hire friendly, interactive staff. Thanks so much will be back! Don’t usually take time to leave a review unless the service was incredible
We celebrated a birthday at Arc. It was easy booking the reservation on Opentable and writing in the special request for celebrating the birthday. Once we arrived at the restaurant, they already knew all of the information. Great service. Delicious food. Wonderful atmosphere.
Service at ARC is always top-notch. In fact, I have not felt so welcomed and a restaurant in Vancouver in a long time. Everyone from greeting staff to our server was very professional and friendly. The food prices are a little bit high, but you are always getting quality ingredients and fantastic service. I find this place ideal for a relaxing lunch or a business meeting. In the evening it's a lovely place to stop and grab a quick drink.
We very much enjoyed our evening at ARC. Our server was tremendous, and really went out of her way to look after us. We began our meal with mushroom soup and fresh oysters. Both were delicious (I should have ordered more oysters!), and nicely prepared us for our mains of sablefish and salmon. Again, both were delicious- my salmon nearly melted in my mouth. Dessert and cappuccino topped off the meal. There is a nice wine list- we chose a Barolo that nicely complemented the meal. Not inexpensive, but about what you would expect to pay at a restaurant of this calibre. Perfect for a special occasion!
This was our first time dining at Arc and it was a great experience. The restaurant is bright and airy with big windows. Our server was friendly and cheery, which was a pleasant surprise from other servers we've had (at other restaurants) or seem like they don't want to be there.
We ordered their lobster benedict, which was super tasty. Highly recommend trying it. They provide a good size portion of lobster with a light salad and green juice on the side.
Great spot for brunch!
This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to on a special occasion - or just for a nice night out! The food is always delicious and the service is excellent. They have interesting cocktails and a good wine list. We also tried their beer for the first time and it was really good! I can't recommend it enough!
This is a busy hotel on the waterfront and the restaurant is very open and high-ceilinged, so it lacks somewhat in "cozy ambience." It also attracts a wide range of diners who are hotel guests, cruisers awaiting their ship the next day, or tour groups. However, the food was outstanding and our server made us feel special, so that made us very happy. We had the "ARC Board" for two people which was outstanding. We would definitely eat here again next time we are in Vancouver.
Great face-lift from Heron restaurant before. It is now fun, trendy, updated, and suitable for all ages. The price is fair for a restaurant inside the Fairmont Waterfront hotel. The beer selections were not bad but over-priced slightly. Our server was excellent. If they know it was a birthday booking, you may get a good surprise.
Tables are far enough apart to provide a sense of privacy in a large, high-ceilinged venue offering good views, tasty and well-presented dishes, and a varied menu. The bar was surprisingly limited in liqueur choices, which limits the cocktail choices available.
The live music volume was a tad loud, but the acoustics of a glass-walled, high-ceilinged venue make it difficult to render the excellent entertainer's voice ( Cassandra Bangel) legible without being a bit loud.
Overall a good and reasonably priced dinner outing.
