ARC Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
This was our first time dining at Arc and it was a great experience. The restaurant is bright and airy with big windows. Our server was friendly and cheery, which was a pleasant surprise from other servers we've had (at other restaurants) or seem like they don't want to be there.
We ordered their lobster benedict, which was super tasty. Highly recommend trying it. They provide a good size portion of lobster with a light salad and green juice on the side.
Great spot for brunch!
This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to on a special occasion - or just for a nice night out! The food is always delicious and the service is excellent. They have interesting cocktails and a good wine list. We also tried their beer for the first time and it was really good! I can't recommend it enough!
This is a busy hotel on the waterfront and the restaurant is very open and high-ceilinged, so it lacks somewhat in "cozy ambience." It also attracts a wide range of diners who are hotel guests, cruisers awaiting their ship the next day, or tour groups. However, the food was outstanding and our server made us feel special, so that made us very happy. We had the "ARC Board" for two people which was outstanding. We would definitely eat here again next time we are in Vancouver.
Great face-lift from Heron restaurant before. It is now fun, trendy, updated, and suitable for all ages. The price is fair for a restaurant inside the Fairmont Waterfront hotel. The beer selections were not bad but over-priced slightly. Our server was excellent. If they know it was a birthday booking, you may get a good surprise.
Tables are far enough apart to provide a sense of privacy in a large, high-ceilinged venue offering good views, tasty and well-presented dishes, and a varied menu. The bar was surprisingly limited in liqueur choices, which limits the cocktail choices available.
The live music volume was a tad loud, but the acoustics of a glass-walled, high-ceilinged venue make it difficult to render the excellent entertainer's voice ( Cassandra Bangel) legible without being a bit loud.
Overall a good and reasonably priced dinner outing.
We were greeted very warmly and congratulated on our joint birthdays....2 life-long friends celebrating a total of 164 years of life! Waiter Darrin was excellent, friendly helpful and patient!
We hope to be at Arc again next year for the same event . It has become a custom for us!
Overall this is a good restaurant. Staff are friendly and accommodating. We wanted a nice dinner to celebrate my brother running the marathon. We took a chance on this because we thought it would have an ocean front view and some steak options. It's not an ocean front view and only one very expensive steak item.
I would suggest they have the full menu posted on their website (only the breakfast/brunch menu was posted).
We still enjoyed the meal and had a good time. Live music was nice.
The location of Arc is outstanding...big windows in the heart of Vancouver.
They have a couple of spacious tables for family or business gatherings...a nice touch.
The food was very good; especially the chowder...yum
I had a duck sandwich special; the flavour was just average
I will be heading back; making better choices from the menu
We were attending an event at Canada Place so it was nearby. Nice sustainable local foods cooked well. The bread/rolls were delish and just couldn't pass them up. It is a big restaurant but tables are far enough apart to make it "intimate" enough:) I had the duck breast.. yummy but not too sweet sauce with it.
We really enjoyed this restaurant. The menu had a number of options and each person's meal was really good. I had the beef short rib, which was probably the best that I have ever had, as was, apparently my husband's sable fish. Daughter had the ling cod which was great. Our son had the rib eye which did disappoint somewhat. The seafood sampler was very good and the desserts as well. The restaurant is very well laid out with ample space between tables and there are a number of partitions through out the space so we had the feeling that we were off by ourselves which we really liked. The live music was lovely and I would like to go back for a drink just to listen to him. All in all, a lovely time.
If live band/performer can be visible when sitting anywhere in the restaurant, that's perfect. Or try to ask performer to say something; maybe just simple greeting in order to make better atmosphere and remind customers that they are enjoying live music... Performer that night was good, but sometimes people ignored. Also, the sable fish that night was a bit too salty...
The live music was a highlight for sure, not too loud as other restaurants tend to be. Casual but romantic at the same time. And our waiter was so cute! The honey lavender butter was so amazing, really thankful one of the waitresses gave us more to have! She also told us the honey is made in house, happy she shared the fun fact with us, made us appreciate it more I think. Wonderful staff, great atmosphere and delightful food. Was
ARC is a pleasant upscale restaurant with a nice harbour view. The service was courteous and attentive and the layout of the restaurant is fairly open and modern. Our food was quite good - my only complaint really - is that the portions were a little on the small side - but what we did get was exceptional.
They did have a live performer who wasn't too annoying, although we were around a curve in the restaurant - it could have been much louder closer in.
If you're looking for a nice dressier place for dinner, this is a good choice.
We were 5 people at ARC as part of dine out. My entree, the ricotta gnocchi was outstanding. The gnocchi were like clouds. I did reluctantly share a few and everyone thought they were excellent. The people that ordered the short ribs said they were warm bordering on cool. The sauce that was decoratively place on the side was starting to coagulate. The flavour was very good but it would have been a better experience if it warmer. The service was excellent. We all enjoyed the fact that we could speak without shouting which is a problem in a lot of restaurants. The regular menu looked great so we will probably come back to try that.
The service was prompt and friendly but we felt rushed to decide on our meals and to eat. The food was ok, we had never eaten here before and thought we would try somewhere new during dine out Vancouver. The dessert was the best part which was outstanding but didn't quite make up for an average appetizer and entree. We were expecting the appetizers and entrees to have some really good flavour based on the description and price but they did not live up to expectations. The r&b Vancouver IPA was delicious as was the Sauvignon blanc from New Zealand. We also very much enjoyed the atmosphere, they had some live music near the front of the restaurant. I would try out other new places before revisiting.
