Great little spot to eat in the villiage. My wife and I were in town for our anniversary. Had the oysters 5 ways with a sturgeon dish and a pear dessert. All of it was very tasty and the restraint had a great vibe.

Excellent menu, food and service, as always. The seasonal special menus are a great opportunity but even when at full price dining at Araxi is really worthwhile.

Araxi has long been a favourite spot in Whistler. In fact, it’s been one of our favourite spots anywhere. Having talked it up to visitors from San Francisco, it feel far short of expectations and was deemed a very ordinary dining experience. To be clear, the food was very good. The greeting at the door was good. But after that, it fell apart.

We ate there in September and had an outstanding experience. Our waiter has since been promoted. We saw him and longed for him to take over service as the waitress we had was knowledgeable but far too formal and lacked the ability to connect with us. She kept referring to one of our guests as “lady”, which isn’t rude but also isn’t normal.

We were a table of six. The senior VP had flown up with his wife from San Francisco. We all ordered starters and mains. We had some assistance from the sommelier and he recommended a really nice bottle of wine for the table. All good so far. Then the starters show up and are presented. Nothing for the VP. Startled looks all around. He’s a big guy, is he invisible? He’s gracious, insists we start without him. They manage to get the octopus starter he ordered to the table in about 5 minutes. But it’s tense.
We enjoy some wine. It’s seems like an honest mistake. No harm done.
Then we’re out of wine. One bottle for six guests doesn’t go far. We have to flag another server down for a second bottle. Seriously. It didn’t occur to anyone to offer more wine. With empty glasses on the table.
And it gets better. The mains come. Guess who doesn’t get his risotto? Yup, the VP. We’re speachless. This can’t be random. He’s not impressed. This takes longer to rectify. It’s risotto, not porridge. You don’t just make a pot of it. What struck me as incredible is there was an apology, the waitress was obviously shocked that he had been overlooked again, but nothing else. I would have expected them to offer to take his food off the bill. But nothing. Something is wrong at Araxi. We won’t be back soon.

The sommelier (I made the mistake of not getting his name, but a red-haired Australian gentleman) was incredible and made the night in assisting with appropriate wine selections to match all the different tastes and preferences at the table. The wine list is deep and the best I have experienced in Whistler. The prices were fair even for DRC and some impressive first growth Bordeaux on the list.

Great service, great wine, great food...what more could you want?

This is the place to go near Whistler village. Both the seafood and the steaks are top shelf. They have an extensive wine list. We have always received fantastic service.

Main dishes excellent, appetizers just ok, inexperienced waiter got drink order incorrect but charged us anyway had vanilla ice cream in one of dishes but couldn't provide small scoop separately to go with espresso to make an affagato. Occasion was sons birthday and charged for his dessert.

Was the 2nd last night of the fall dining special 5 courses for $36. Food as excellent we were out in jsut onver 1.5 hours. Our server was nit very attetive and our water frequently ran out and we had to wait a while before he refilled it although he walked past our table many times. I've been to araxi many times and we usually have great service this time however it was severly lacking which was a shame

Another excellent "set menu" occasion. While we come other times, this year's anniversary menu was excellent value. Entrees are a bit limited, barring a surcharge, but Arctic Char was a good choice. We skipped the wine pairing this time (one of us had to be able to drive...) - but another time might do one flight and a glass. Service - as ever - was excellent. A bit noisy (even though we were early), but not uncomfortably so.

Drove to Whistler just for this meal and it was totally worth it!! Was stuck in traffic for 5 hours and was almost about to turn back but luckily we didn't. Ordered the Araxi 5 course anniversary tasting menu and it was worth every penny! All of the 5 courses were amazingly good. I haven't had such a well rounded good meal for awhile. Araxi sure nailed this one. The steak and duck was so soft and moist. Chocolate mousse torte was very good as well. I'm normally not a chocolate dessert person because I find it too sweet but this one wasn't overly sweet and very smooth. Big thumbs up. Would drive back again in a heartbeat.

The food was good, a little over priced for the meals we got. The server was good but could barely hear him as the room was so loud. I couldn’t talk to my boyfriend as it was so loud. Our table was uneven and our drinks almost spilled multiple times. Overall I don’t think I will go back.

The room lacks intimacy. It is very loud and needs something done to help deal with sound bouncing everywhere. Most dishes were well done, but the handmade pasta was thick and chewy. The dishes don’t show the care and creativity that the price point reflects. It’s a bit of a factory.

Axaxi has been a Whistler staple for many years and I have eaten there many times. In the high end restaurant category it is sadly just fine. The food is tasty but not amazing and the service is adequate for a high end restaurant. I have never received bad service or bad food but I’ve never been particularly impressed with either given how the restaurant is positioned. Overall I wouldn’t avoid the Araxi but I also wouldn’t seek it out as there are better options for the same price.

It was my third time here and I’d say my first two experiences were a lot better. Not sure if it’s because they had a special $36 5 course menu plan, but I felt both the service & the food was not quite as good as usual. I’ll still be back though as overall it’s a great restaurant. Little things I noticed this time was our second course wine & food came before we had finished our first course. And then there was no wine with the third course which we weren’t told till we received our third course so we only had water with that course. The waiter was apologetic about our second course coming too soon at least.

We love this restaurant. We have been coming here for the last 4 to 5 years. It has always been wonderful. Love the oysters. We also like that they use local ingredients. Tasting menu is always superb and delicious. The wait staff is wonderful and they know the menu. This place is good for their oyster happy hour and a great meal. A bit of a splurge but well worth it.

Reception & service was very friendly & courteous. Food was great quality and tasted good-not amazing-just good. The bread was pedestrian -Keg bread is much better.
Seafood & fish tasted fresh slightly over priced value.
The washrooms-Starbucks has better washrooms.
Would not go back on my accord-nor would I recommend
