We were seated at the back of the restaurant in the wine storage area. It was great to be away from the hustle and bustle of the main area of the restaurant.
Great food, location and ambiance. A great place for a fine dining experience whilst at Whistler.
Only negative was an overly arrogant waitress who obviously thought her tip wasn’t large enough.
Certainly took the edge off an otherwise very enjoyable night, and makes you question giving any tip at all.
Lovely meal. Service was impeccable, food was amazing, we couldn’t have asked for more.
Always great food. Very busy and loud but still great experience. Love that casual attire is fine and no pretension in staff.
Comida muy rica, algunos platillos les faltaba un extra punch de sabor, precios muy caros. Buena experiencia en general
The food was fabulous, but the noise level almost unbearable. Perhaps if we sat in the bar it would have been more tolerable. Maybe some acoustic adjustments could be made to the place to absorb the sound better...?
Very good food, but small portions. Prices are high for the portion size. Also, much too noisy. When people are drinking and talking too loudly, we cannot have a conversation at other tables. the restaurant needs to make a solution.
Wonderful food. Interesting and imaginative!
It’s not the Araxi I know. Once it was the best dining experience in town but has been surpassed. It was expensive and the duck I ordered was inedible. Whilst the staff offered to exchange it for another main - it did not live up to my previous experience. I had an entree of oysters but my friend did not. Which meant she waited an hour and a half for food. She asked for more butter with her bread but it never arrived. Fewer covers and better attention to customer service and food is advised.
The food and service were outstanding. The mixed drinks were creative and delicious - we particularly liked the Fig Jam (scotch drink) and the cocktail on the menu next to "Truth and Lies" whose name I can't remember! The tuna tataki small plate was perfect for sharing between three of us. Two of us split the amazingly delicious pepper crusted venison loin and we appreciated that the kitchen split it perfectly between two plates with beautiful presentation and the serving size was perfect for us. Our server recommended a local cab-franc by the glass, by Burrowing Owl, to accompany it and it was perfect. Unfortunately, we were too full to try dessert. The only drawback of this restaurant is that it is very noisy and you have to speak loudly to be heard. I would definitely eat here again.
The restaurant called ahead of time to tell us that we have a two hour dining limit. It took over an hour and a half for our entrees to even arrive. Food was overpriced and so salty my family couldn’t even eat it. Very poor overall experience.
Very accommodating with young kids. Food excellent. Will go again.
We come to Whistler from Toronto every year and always eat here for dinner and almost every day at the bar for the oysters (I’m allergic but the wife says they’re fantastic). This is a true 5 star kitchen. Service as well. Expensive and worth it if you can treat yourself.
The food was very good service was a little slow for such a nice restaurant. The wine list is grossly overpriced.
Excellent service and menu. Celiac friendly too!
Service and attention to detail was impeccable as usual. We went for my sons 18th birthday and reserved and early seating. Unfortunately we were placed at a small table for two in. Dark corner so would have been happier with a nicer table. Some food items were excellent. We managed to make it into the bar for the oyster happy hour which were very fresh and briny. We ordered the fois gras which was nice as usual. Very disappointed with the local prawn appetizer...not an appealing plate. The beet salad was good as usual. The mains were very good. I had the elk which was extremely tender and done to perfection. I was a little disappointed with the sides on the plate as everything seemed a little over salted and not quite the right match for the dish. But overall I enjoyed the dinner and my son was quite happy to try a few new dishes for him. At the end as we did not order dessert as I had birthday cake at home, they did bring a very lovely plate with a happy birthday out for my son.
It is a great place, conveniently located in the hart of the Whistler village. The service was excellent, and the feed was fantastic. I would definitely come to Araxis again, and I would recommend it to my friends too.
Normal pudiendo haber sido algo más especial
Excellent menu. Wine list extensive with excellent choices from all of the major wine producing areas and price ranges. Food wonderfully presented and extremely tasteful. Service professional and attentive.
Do not miss this restaurant! Based on multiple “best of” reviews and recommendations, we decided to eat dinner here during our trip to Whistler. It absolutely lived up to the hype and was worth every penny. Delicious cocktails, friendly service, inventive, beautiful food. Best meal of the trip.
Outstanding meal and service!
The only thing was the sable fish - very salty this time. Otherwise everything was perfect.
Can't fault the entire experience, the oysters were delicious and I would highly recommend even if you have not had them before , we dined In the beautiful wine room which really finished of our trip. Would highly reccomend for people looking for a beautiful restaraunt after a nice days skiing
Make sure to make a reservation on Open Table and request a seat in the wine room for a quieter evening. This is a must dine location when in Whistler.
Great service and well seasoned beef carpaccio, fish entrees. Wine selected by server great
Outstanding food and top notch service. Just don't look at the bill when it arrives!
Well worth a special occasion though.
Top notch food and service and wine list. But craft beer selection is lacking
Second time at araxi always a good choice in whistler
Overall our experience was disappointing. We have eaten at Araxi for many years when we go skiing/snowboarding in Whistler. On this trip, I had difficulty making a reservation due to our last minute trip. We got lucky however in that a reservation opened the night that we had no plans for dinner. While many things were good, there was an inordinate delay between the appetizers and the meal. Additionally, one of the steaks was over cooked and the pasta was just okay. We did not stay for desert as it had been a long night.
Great restaurant in Whistler, had beef tartare to start with mushroom pasta and steelhead as mains- delicious and fresh. We had a stupendous bottle of BC wine-Laughing Stock Portfolio. Yum! Highly recommend.
This is the best restaurant in Whistler. Make sure you make reservations long in advance especially on weekends.
It was good
Best food we’ve experienced in Whistler.
Started out great. Ended horribly.
Great somellier. Super service oriented. We were expecting a great evening.
Had to find waiter after waiting ONE HOUR for our main course. When he arrived befuddled he asked if we wanted our main dishes served together. UM. YES please.
10 minutes later food arrived. Cold. Scallops over salted. Venison mealy And cold.
Somellier was kind and offered us a complimentary glass of wine and dessert. That made it a bit better but still a sad end to the evening overall not great experience.
My favorite restaurant in Whistler!
Always great food and atmosphere. Great wine list!
The food here is usually one of the best in Whistler. Still is. It’s a bit on the expensive side but well worth it. The wine list is deep and there are some gems in there as well as some outrageously overpriced. The food was surprisingly being served a tad slow this year (the waiting staff were very attentive though) which I found slightly unacceptable given the amount you pay for service here. We sat for at least 20 minutes after our order was taken before the fresh oysters were served. By that time, I was buzzing a bit since there was nothing else except the bottle of wine. I’d say twice slower than their normal pace. We eat here every year. The group had just taken over and reopened IL Camineto and perhaps the kitchen staff got thinned out a bit. Nevertheless, I highly recommend eating here when in Whistler. The seafood is so fresh and outstandingly prepared.
Araxi was truly one of the best meals that we have had in a long time!
Araxi is a must stop while in Whistler for my husband and I. This visit was no exception. Fantastic service and attention to our needs. We ordered way too much food, but couldn't stop eating because everything was so delicious. Seafood tower is a must, and their venison is so tender and juicy.
