Had fairly high hopes for this place given the reviews. Maybe it’s because it was 1130 when it open but it smelt like chorlox as it was just cleaned. Sushi was ok as special plates was better. Service couldn’t read environment as kept interrupting while our table was engaged in conversation. No specials review. I wouldn’t recommend nor come back if there were other options. Service was sub par as there was no follow up after food was delivered. After mediocre experience, 20% tip was still left.
Very noisy, great sea bass robata and salmon black truffle sashimi
Excellent quality and happy hour until 8 PM !
Had dinner and was there in time for the Happy Hour menu. Great prices. Excellent quality. Really enjoyed this place. So many sushi places in LA but this one stood out for us. Nice vibe and very helpful staff and waiters.
Great food, simple atmosphere, great location. Obed the Arashi specialty items. Walking distance to DTLA Live!
Excellent food, great service, flexibility on the menu, priced right.
Welcome and seating was a bit chaotic. Long line, no one to greet guests except a young woman who also was a waitress
Good place for good sushi before or after going to the Staples center.
The screaming roll and the dragon roll were very good. The spicy tuna roll was just ok, I wouldn’t order it again.
Solid food for the price with mediocre rushed service experience
Sushi was delicious. Loved the feel of the restaurant: authentic and friendly. Felt like a neighborhood sushi place. In a good way. Looked and tasted yummy. Can’t wait to come back.
The food and price are excellent. But the service is very slow and you often get items you did not order, or the wrong items. The food was cold. We were the first table at 11:40 and we waited for waiter and food for a long time. We left the restaurant at almost 2 p.m. NOT a good thing when you need to get back to work.
Had a couple of the specials a garlic and a truffle flavored sashimi. Excellent! Would definitely recommend.
Great food, quality service, establishment is very clean and staff is quite friendly.
Delicious sushi. Great prices. Great service. Great location in downtown LA
Very mediocre sushi place. No attention to detail in roll making, even for simple rolls--they looked more like swiss roll than sushi roll, with way too much rice, and were haphazardly tossed on a plate. Taste was only fair. Service was awful. It was a slow evening in a small restaurant and it took 30 minutes for the server to bring us our check, despite the busboy walking past a million times looking at out table. Very disappointing--much better options in DTLA or nearby Little Tokyo.
Always fresh and reliable. Specials are always delightful. Never rushed. Great staff
Very convenient for Staples Center and Nokia events.
Everything was soooooo good.
The sushi was just ok. I am not sure about the quality of it. I’ve had much better elsewhere so won’t be returning back. Other patrons were wearing t shirts and ball caps. An extremely casual atmosphere.
Not a terrible sushi place. I just wasn't too impressed with the food or the service. Simply put: it wasn't a memorable experience.
Customer service was great. The sushi wasn't the best
Every dish was spot-on! My favorite sushi place in DTLA so far. Service was perfect too!
So far so good 😊
I came here with some of my co-workers and may I say I had never in my life thought of trying raw fish 🐟. Glad I did! This place beats Wokcano 💯 times better.
Very enjoyable and service was impressive. Work go again. Food was also very good.
AWESOME. REally good sushi, great service (Steve) and an overall great time!
I reserved a table in advance via OT. Showed up and the host informed me they had no tables. He said, "Reservations are not guaranteed". I asked, "Why accept reservations if you're not going to honor them?" He said, "I don't know.." I asked if there's a manager I could speak to. He replied, "We don't have one." 🤔 He then sat us at the sushi bar and never returned. All he had to say was, "Sorry for the confusion. We'll seat you when the next table opens up..." We work nearby and are regulars. After today's treatment, we'll never return again...
Fast service and fresh food. Sad that they eliminate the weekday happy hour menu.
Really like the place / lunch price is very reasonable.
Always the freshest fish! Great deal at happy hour.
Great selection of rolls at great prices. I was looking for a place that would take a big group reservation on a Friday night and they were one of the few places that would. Service was great and they accommodated our large group and kept bringing out food.
Food is great. Wait staff did not seem to happy to be working on this evening.
Great sushi, super fresh tasting. Servers are friendly.0
Birthday and hockey game
This restaurant is always great for any celebration or just a get together. Staff is very friendly and food is good.
My favorite sushi restaurant in L.A. My favorites are the cucumber salad, sea bass roll, and spicy tuna on crispy rice.
The place is lacking character. It's basically a sports bar, not a sushi bar. The service was fine but not friendly or helpful. The place reeked of bleach and the food was mediocre and not worth the price. I'm willing to pay top dollar for sushi IF ITS WORTH IT.
Good selection at moderate prices. Off the beaten path but lively crowd.
We are regulars at Arashi. It's a great place to go before heading to an event at Staples Center. The sushi is fantastic.
