Arashi Sushi Ratings and Reviews
Very mediocre sushi place. No attention to detail in roll making, even for simple rolls--they looked more like swiss roll than sushi roll, with way too much rice, and were haphazardly tossed on a plate. Taste was only fair. Service was awful. It was a slow evening in a small restaurant and it took 30 minutes for the server to bring us our check, despite the busboy walking past a million times looking at out table. Very disappointing--much better options in DTLA or nearby Little Tokyo.
I reserved a table in advance via OT. Showed up and the host informed me they had no tables. He said, "Reservations are not guaranteed". I asked, "Why accept reservations if you're not going to honor them?" He said, "I don't know.." I asked if there's a manager I could speak to. He replied, "We don't have one." 🤔 He then sat us at the sushi bar and never returned. All he had to say was, "Sorry for the confusion. We'll seat you when the next table opens up..." We work nearby and are regulars. After today's treatment, we'll never return again...
Great selection of rolls at great prices. I was looking for a place that would take a big group reservation on a Friday night and they were one of the few places that would. Service was great and they accommodated our large group and kept bringing out food.
The place is lacking character. It's basically a sports bar, not a sushi bar. The service was fine but not friendly or helpful. The place reeked of bleach and the food was mediocre and not worth the price. I'm willing to pay top dollar for sushi IF ITS WORTH IT.
Great sushi and much better value than the restaurants near LA Live where I was staying. Service was excellent - very attentive even though restaurant was busy.
My only complaint would be that it is too well lit. I like a bit more ambiance. If they dimmed the lights a bit it would be perfect!
Just okay. We read reviews that rated this higher than Katsuya, so we figured we'd give it a shot. We were underwhelmed.
The restaurant feels more like a cafeteria than a dinner restaurant. Service was fine, friendly but not terribly helpful with recommendations. None of that was troublesome. The lackadaisical food, however, was the big disappointment. Flavors on the cut rolls were muddled, heavy. The hand rolls were bland. Overall, it wasn't BAD, but it wasn't good enough to go back and eat again either. Overall- meh.
Really great and flavorful meal. Tuna Tataki and Spicy scallop roll was amazing. Cocktails were also great. Made a reservation and table was ready we arrived. It took a little longer for us to order as the place was very busy, but overall our waiter still took care of us and orders came out quick once we had ordered.
Food was really amazing, but our waitress was not attentive. We constantly had to flag her over to get things rather than her coming to our table and asking us if we would like anything else. That's the only downfall of this place otherwise the food was really delicious and everybody loved what they had.
