Incredible experience at Arami! The service was fantastic and the creations that came out of the kitchen were a marvel. Best sushi dishes I have had in Chicago hands down.
Amazing food, upscale, pricey but worth it.
Outstanding! The food was great! The sushi rolls we had were delicious!! The service was wonderful! Our waiter and all of the support staff were extremely attentive and helpful. The specials, and particularly the dessert special, were incredible!
Arami was delightful. I picked this restaurant to celebrate my 27th birthday with my parents. The service was wonderful, especially Zach, who made us feel very welcome and helped make the evening very special. The social distancing seating was well arranged and still held a similar ambience as it must have in pre-pandemic times. Now, the FOOD. It was exquisite. The sea bass was perfectly marinated, the duck yaki soba so flavorful and rich, and the king crab sushi was melt-in-your-mouth heaven. And we got 3 fantastic deserts! Couldn’t recommend this place more, can’t wait to return.
I loved Arami pre-COVID. I think it lost the spark which is sad. Food was still fine, but just fine. Not as great.
Service was a little lacking in the sense, things I would have expected at a sushi place (wasabi and ginger) did not make it to the table until requested. Those small things unfortunately added up.
But as I said. Food was fine.
Arami is my absolute favorite restaurant. The food is excellent and very creative. This is my go to spot to bring family and friends.
So yummy and wonderful service.
We ordered 2 specialty rolls and 1 regular roll. I did not know that the specialty rolls were $18-22 for only 6 pieces. One of the specialty rolls we ordered did not even have fish on top so it was pretty much a regular roll that you could find at a grocery store will some fancy toppings. I went here for Valentine's day dinner and left extremely disappointed.
We dined in for Valentine's Day. The COVID procedures were wonderful - probably the safest dining experience since the start of the pandemic. The staff was very kind and attentive.
The food however.....was not good. The seaweed on the sushi was so chewy it was almost inedible. There wasn't any interesting flavor. And the value was extremely poor...$18 for a sushi roll with 5 pieces with fried shrimp is ridiculous.
I wanted to like Arami but we will not be back.
What is so outstanding about Arami is the service. Our waitress was super nice and knowledgeable. The service was also quick.
The food was delicious. High quality sushi. I found the prices for alcoholic beverages too high, though. Also I wished there was a bigger selection of sake that can be served warm.
Extensive sake list, excellent sashimi and nigiri
Amazing food and friendly staff. Would definitely come back!
Food is great just on the pricey side. Service was great. Overall an excellent experience and would come back here
This was an excellent experience. Arami is taking the pandemic precautions very seriously and that was very much appreciated. We always have a lovely experience, but this time was really special because the partitions made the seating feel very intimate. The food was extremely fresh too!
Wonderful meal - this is a magnificent restaurant!
Amazing high end sushi.. went with the Arami Experience for 2!
Amazing social distancing and food. Felt very comfortable eating at this restaurant. They went out of their way to make an amazing environment
Excellent interesting sushi. Freshest sashimi. Table dividers, hand sanitizer and temp checks helped keep everyone safe. Excellent dinner.
Not a lot of variety on the menu. Basically spicy everything. The sushi is decent tasting but very small portions for the price.
We received amazing service and were taken care of very well. The only downside was the wine we had first chosen was out of stock, but our amazing waiter recommended a Chardonnay from Chile that was really good as well. 9/10
Excellent meal and service. High quality sushi.
Really really good. Service was great, amazing attention to detail on separation and cleanliness. A smidge pricey but we will definitely be back.
Amazing place! Excellent staff and chefs! Recommending to all!
Everything was excellent. Octopus, the mochi sushi roll, and all the rolls we ordered were absolutely delicious. Definitely returning!
Loved the unique flavors and the quality of the sushi. The service was exceptional and accommodating. The over all experience was top notch, especially during these strange times of social distancing.
This was the first time we’ve had a bad experience, but it was probably the worst service I’ve had in any restaurant. After 20 minutes of being seated, I had to get up to go ask the hostess if a waiter was going to bring us water or anything. It was 40 minutes from getting there until we were brought a cocktail. I hope it was just one night. Their food was slow, but the quality was still great.
Everything was wonderful!
I am very disappointed the environment was horrible depressing
Excellent service. Tasty sushi. Definitely loved the octopus.
Very nice environment. Not totally Japanese, definitely fusion. Food is good. Sushi good. Sashimi is only Ok. Had the tasting menu and cooked food was excellent!
Sushi on par with the best in Chicago. Fresh, plated beautifully with great service in a minimally chic setting.
Had really great service coming here for the first time. Sushi was great quality and very yummy although they were running on a more limited menu due to covid. Would definitely come back here again.
The food is beyond compare - truly excellent. Pricing is a bit much but because of quality you can still stomach.
Amazing food and service!
The chef's choice sashmi was a mistake, for 60 bucks I only liked 1-2 items. The rolls were delicious.
Arami is a quaint and quiet little sushi house in the West end of Chicago that certainly demonstrates the appeal of a quiet & relaxing evening.
The restaurant itself is immaculate and the staff has incorporated a sanitation method to ensure the environment is surely Safe, clean and well kept.
The service was prompt and each attendant was accommodating, courteous and helpful.
The menu has an array of Japanese traditional style delicacies with only some prices being a little on the higher end for the amount served. However, the presentation and prep of each dish is outstanding to which the cost is definitely worth the craftsmanship.
As for drinks, the menu is incredibly stocked with an array of saki and hinted with a unique beer selection that hadn’t been available to me personally at a restaurant since being on mainland Japan. No prior research is necessary as the staff is knowledgeable and well educated on what they have to offer if you come to find yourself seeking out suggestions.
Overall, the environment was great, the Wait staff is friendly , the chefs are well equipped with authentic technique, skills as well as creativity and the decor is calm and welcoming.
I definitely recommend visiting this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
Troy and Ty has used Covid to create one of the best dining experiences. Excellent selections from the chefs
Wow what a treat for us to celebrate our 9th year together here at Arami. It felt like our first date in many many moons and how lucky for us to help this fabulous restaurant reopen for guests indoors. Ty and Troy have created a super safe environment for guests to enjoy their magnificent sushi and sake. Make a reservation and enjoy as soon as you can.
Excellent food: creative, delicious and umami - highly recommend!
We have been meaning to try Arami for years and we are so glad we finally did. It was an amazing experience! The food was so delicious and service was great! The wine menu was rather limited, but the cocktail list was inventive and delicious (can only speak for the old fashioned, as we didn't quite make it through the whole cocktail list :). It's a great spot for a special occasion or, as in our case, a random weeknight dinner out. We will certainly be back!
