It took a while for someone to greet and seat me. It wasn't busy at all. Food was great; same out quickly. Staff was polite.
Food was delicious, but we had a discount certificate (from a popular website) that they refused (just purchased that week, by the way). They claimed that the place was "under new ownership" and "no longer accept those certificates" and "there was a sign on the door about that" and "sorry." and so on. So we paid full price. Well, we looked hard when we left and saw no such sign. And, to make it worse, it's a month later and they still list their restaurant on that web site and sell discount certificates. So it's hard to recommend if they aren't honest, despite the good food.
I heard about this restaurant from a friend. The food was very good and the breads were freshly baked. I wasn't familiar with the Yemeni menu, but the food is worth returning for.
Tried this place directly across from our hotel and it was satisfying but not stellar. The ambiance was very basic and the service a bit confused - the waiter really couldn't answer questions about items on the menu. We ordered two lamb dishes and they were quite flavorful with charcoal highlights for one and subtle spices for the other. The amount of meat was spare and delivered on a mountain of rice. We probably enjoyed the appetizer sampler more and it brought more value for the dollar.
Yemeni's has friendly service, very nicely flavored food, and wonderful ( free) Yemenite tea in a spacious room. The prices were unbelievably reasonable for San Francisco, and the portions are generous. We've told many others about this restaurant and plan to come back.
Food was ok but the service was horrible.
Nice restaurant! Great foods! Good service
Best shawerma I've ever had. Really liked the Jerusalem salad. Fresh ingredients. Tastes like home cooking. Reasonable pricing. Only downside...it's alcohol-free.
The food here was excellent and good priced. It looked to be family run, so the service was a bit slow at times, but you almost appreciated it because of the family feel you got. The ambiance could use a bit of help with simple dimming of the lights, but if you are in the mood for Middle Eastern cuisine in this neighborhood, it is worth stopping by.
