The food was unexpectedly bland. For this cuisine, we thought it would be more authentique. The service was attentive, but it’s hard to view it fully when you are disappointed with what is being served.
Perhaps a better choice for lunch than for dinner.
It was my wife's 40th birthday and we had a really good time at Arabesque. Food was delicious and the owner, Omar, and his staff made us feel very welcome. He was also very accommodating of our request to order a special Belly Dancer show outside of the normal showtime. Will definitely be coming back here again when we return to NYC.. THANKS
We were very disappointed with the food as we know what authentic Moroccan dishes should taste like. The Coucous was under seasoned and the sauce was tasteless. The Bastilla was dry and overcooked and the pastry was chewy not flaky. We found that the cost charged was not a good value for the taste and quality of the dishes. When we were told that the chef was Asian we then realized why the dishes were not tastefully authentic! As the food was not good we would not recommend eating there. If you would like to go there to have entertainment music and belly dancing and have a few drinks that’s great, but don’t rely upon the food to be authentic and delicious Moroccan food with tasty spaces where appropriate. Next time we will stick with the Byblos which we know is a great place with fantastic food.
A $9 bottle of wine for $46? Robbery. The really cool room is the smoking room. Explain that.
Highly recommendeded. Exceptionally pleasant atmosphere and service.
i loved Arabesque! It is a beautiful, unique restaurant that is fun, has great food and isn't as noisy and crowded as many midtown restaurants. It's a great choice of a restaurant in midtown.
The food was delicious, and the belly dancer was very energetic. But the music level when she danced was unfortunately, deafening. Just too much.
The greek salad and shrimp wrap were extremely good. The fries with a mix of ketchup and harissa are absolutely delicious.
Good menu with plenty of variety. Delicious food, nicely prepared.
Very quiet on a Sunday night.
I can simply say WOW 😍 I loved Arabesque! Great food ( I had 2 entrees), good beer, wonderful service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a place to return to.
A very enjoyable experience from the moment we walked in. With a friendly greeting we were brought to the table. The couscous and Tagine we ordered were memorable. The service was the perfect balance of attentiveness without being intrusive. I most heartedly recommend this gem to anyone in the mood for Moroccan.
I miss the larger selection of small plates but there is much to choose from larger well priced entrees. Always a charming place to catch up with friends as they never rush you out.
Warning even if you are a « big eater » the bastillée entrée is just too much for one person , share it !
I am Moroccan, my family owns Moroccan restaurants in France , so you guessed I am a snob when it comes to Moroccan food, decor, service, and yes Music (Moroccan ‘s culture is worldwide famous for all the above besides Argan oil and beautiful country) : Arabesque greatly covered all the above !
I shall be back very soon , great place to hangout with friends and families.
A special thanks to Monsieur Omar for a great evening.
A gem of a restaurant. Lovely decor, delicious food, reasonably priced, great location. Can’t wait to go again.
We went for a birthday and the lady (manager) was very unfriendly. She mixed the orders was not welcoming and not apologetic at all. The food was decent but the service was awful.
And, why should you pay 20% gratuity..!!??
Don’t think I’ll go again.
The mussels are very good, couscous was okay. A bit too loud, there is dance music that gets louder and louder after 10pm, a bit difficult to chat.
My colleagues and I often rely on Arabesque for business lunches or dinners and it never disappoins. Welcomin, friendly, excellent food, well presented, lovely cadre.
Be prepared for belly dancer and music at 9p on Saturday night
Food is great. Entertainment is awesome and the ambiance is excellent.
Amazing food and super fun staff! Really nice decor and ambiance.
quality of food bad, quality of service late and delayed, and price paid not worth it.
Went for a girl’s night to celebrate an engagement. The ambiance is great. However, service could be better. After we were seated, it took forever to get a waiter’s attention just to order. The food was mediocre. Everything had a sweet taste to it, even the baba ghanoush. The lamb, however was pretty tasty. As far as entertainment goes, the belly dancer did a great job. But then they had a singer who was obsessed with one of my friends. So he kept pulling her up to dance. At first it was fun, but then it got annoying when we were in the middle of conversation and he kept grabbing us to get up. All in all, it wasn’t a bad night but this place definitely has place for improvement.
This wasn't my first time so I would go back, but it wasn't busy and the service was definitely off. The food was delicious and my client enjoyed her meal. NDL
Great food, quiet, polite and attentive service.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful.
Great ambience. Hookah is good, not excellent. Food is great! Service could be better.
My date loved it. Thank you guys for such great service
The food is always delicious, the service sometimes is a little off. I have been there enough to have almost all of the items on the menu.
Food is good, music is good, dancers are fun and friendly...it was a little pricier than I expected...the cheapest hookah was $50...after a while we stopped getting served water at the table and had to ask for it, but it was a good time overall
The service and food are outstanding. We went to celebrate a friend’s birthday and felt really comfortable and the team was extremely attentive.
They seemed completely overwhelmed by our large party despite the fact that we made the reservation weeks ago. We got (most, but not all) of our entrees more than two hours after we were seated. The music was too loud for conversation, geared to the belly dancer. For a few minutes, okay, but for hours? This was my first and last visit to Arabesque.
We had an amazing dinner and our server was a delight, who went above and beyond to make sure we had a positive experience. The food was delicious (garlic shrimp and pastilla de leche are MUSTS) and I very much hope to be back soon.
Drinks were weak and hookah could’ve been better. Food was on the bland side. The only thing about the experience was the ambiance.
Wife’s birthday dinner party.... it was great!
Reasonably priced, authentic Moroccan fare. Wonderful ambiance. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Definitely recommend for a unique dining experience.
This was my birthday celebration. The ambiance is beautiful at Arabesque! We were seated in the back area, which is decorated like a gorgeous Moroccon tent with lounge-like seating and romantic lighting. We ordered cocktails and appetizers. Cocktails are quite pricy here (at least $14 each), and please ask for tap water if you don't want to end up spending about $9 on a bottle of water! The food was delicious! We had babaganoush, hummus, shrimp, and chicken puffs for appetizers. For dinner, I had the lamb and couscous dish, which was scrumptious. My friends all had different things and they were all very pleased with the food. We decided to get hookah as well since we were celebrating. Each hookah was $50 and it was not worth it at all. I have had way better hookah for half the price. The lovely bonus for the night was the belly dancing entertainment. This was a lovely touch for the restaurant to provide. Overall, we had a great time here but be aware that the staff will try to up-sell you everything and they do charge absurd amounts for little things. I would definitely return for the food though.
The atmosphere was lovely, and it was a comfortable walk from the theater district. The lamb in pastry appetizer and the calamari with moroccan spice were both excellent.
We'll be back...
I ordered lamb meatballs and was served a lamb shank (upcharge of $8). I am very strict w my diet and have issues and the shank was not good for me! I didn’t send it back as I wanted to dine w my husband and his entree was served. The server was very kind but it was his error and our check should have reflected this mistake in crediting the difference
