Excellent food and service. Aquitaine didn’t disappoint us.
Have been eating here for years and today's service was disappointing. The hosts/managers were not interested in their customers or concern for their comfort. Too few staff for the number of tables. And the staff were clearly overwhelmed. In 30 minutes at a table outside, all we got was a glass of water and none of the outdoor heaters worked. We finally got up and left. It's really too bad because over the years Aquitaine had been one of my favorite local restaurants.
Food was just okay. Service was Parisian at best. My duck came out lukewarm with very little flavor. Burger and chicken seemed to be better. I enjoy leisurely and strived that is not overbearing, but neglected is not great at all.
Expected more based on reviews.
Beautiful outdoor space. Service was charming but a bit disorganized. Food is very good.
The restaurant was basically empty with a few outdoor tables with guests. The waitress didn't come take my order until 30 minutes after I sat down and she only came because I went up to ask at the front desk. I only ordered a burger and waited another 30 minutes for the food. The waitress's attitude was very good, but I simply can't believe how slow the service was when there was only about 8 guests including me and my friend dining at that hour.
Wonderful Sunday brunch. Nice outside dining.
As always, it was a fabulous brunch! My avocado/egg toast was excellent and the frittata special was terrific. The service was good, even though they were a bit understaffed. I would not have known my experience. And the coffee was superb, as usual. I'm always happy to go there with family or friends.
We LOVE this place for the brunch/food/drinks and the last time we went it was great. However, this time the service was so chaotic and we waited over an hour for our food - we never saw our own waiter but was taken care of by a few due to needing water, coffee refills, and food for a member of our table who's blood sugar was low. Again - the food is great, just hope they get more help for the brunch rush.
We had an excellent dinner and our server was Sebastian and he was fantastic ! He was friendly , knowledgeable, efficient , definitely made our evening even more enjoyable!
Hash was burned and service was lousy. It was my favorite new brunch place but no longer.
After 20 minutes our order was taken. After an additional 30 minutes the waiter Sebastian asked to take our order. We politely mention that he had already taken our order a long while before and it appeared he forgot, apologized and took our order a second time. After a long while our food finally arrived and my truffle omelette was tasty.
Excellent duck and escargot Staff was very friendly.
Delicious food but with few health conscious choices. Bring back the Nicoise salad for brunch!
Service was pretty delayed. The server’s are amazing though. The ambiance was OK. We got a very small table for a lot of food. He almost dropped our food because of the table size. The hostess was welcoming.
No more COVID masks! Our waiter Fabio lived up to his name, he was fabulous! Food was terrific, service was perfect. Starters, salad, main course and dessert were all terrific. We'll definitely be back and highly rcommend!
A definite while in Boston! Do not miss it! The service, the food equals a great dining experience!
We had a lovely family dinner. The food was good overall, but there was no sauce for steak frites and some of the portions seemed smaller than last time. The service was excellent.
It is a nice place. Friendly staff. a little pricy.
Our dinner at Aquitaine was heavenly. We went there to celebrate our 42nd anniversary and could not have been more pleased with the dishes and the service. Everything was divine! We highly recommend Aquitaine if you are looking for a beautifully prepared meal that will make your taste buds dance with delight. Enjoy!
Great food, great value. Will return again soon!
Such a great spot. We sat outside for brunch and had a great meal.
Great for date night or a group. Ambiance and lighting were excellent.
Always great. Elegant dishes prepared with care. Highly recommend.
Too many flies n mosquitos n bees
Great to be outside but the food here is never memorable. “Warm chèvre” was cold; salad mediocre; dessert disappointing. Great company and beautiful evening made up for it!
Wonderful dinner. French onion soup was delicious as was the steak frite acquitaine. Our server, Sebastian, was efficient, friendly and professional. The outside seating was very nice.
So glad to have re-entered the dining scene at Aquitaine! One of the best neighborhood gems in the South End. It was great to reconnect with some of the staff who have been there since the very beginning.
Hot in there, no air conditioning. Service was slow and hit or miss. Food was good but nothin g outstanding. Disappointment.
We were seated right away and had excellent service. The mussels reminded me of the south of France. The bread and salted whipped butter complemented our appetizers. The wine was seasonal and a good pour. I could be a regular here if my waistline could afford it.
Great French Bistro style restaurant in the heart of the South End of Boston. Inside and outside dining is offered and professionally maintained. The drinks, wine and food offerings all fit the concept, and handled with precision. Everything was expertly done, along with the service. Will definitely visit this restaurant again, thanks for a great experience.
Omelettes were very sub par and boring. Potatoes burned and greasy. Burger was excellent.
Wonderful brunch. Loved the Lobster Benedict and lobster Cobb salad for Mothers Day. Bottle of Rose champagne was perfect too. Don't miss the Chocolate Mousse - to die for!
Excellent in supporting and navigating a large party on a special day! Well done and thank you!
The steak frites aquitaine are a can't miss, as is the French onion soup! Next time will save room for dessert!
Delicious food, great service! Perfect for a special occasion.
Perfect for a date - loved the cozy booths, and the food and drinks were great!
Very good service and excellent food. I thought the atmosphere was lovely
I have been an Aquitaine patron since its very beginning and have always been a great fan. I have supported the restaurant during the pandemic, and have noticed a significant drop in quality, service, ambience since the beginning of 2021. My latest visit over Sunday brunch included extremely loud music (not the first time with this issue this year, and all times it was never addressed by mgt); overworked and/or unknowledgeable staff; the food order came out incorrect; the manager looked liked he rolled out of bed and came to work, or at most picked up his exceedingly wrinkled Polo shirt from off the floor. Seth and team really need to pick up the game so they regain/maintain their long standing reputation for high quality, service and great experiences.
My friend and I enjoyed our food. I really liked the omelet, and my friend thought the chicken sandwich was good. The potatoes weren’t that great and could’ve been more crispy.
pricy but worth it! The steak tartare was divine. The Caesar Salad the best ever tasted. We had the seafood tower and they gave you a LOT. We also got the flight of side dishes and there was way too much for just 2 people. The wine list is amazing
