We have been to Aquitaine for Sunday brunch several times. It never fails to please. Varied enough menu, great service, tasty food - french style - (and they were able to accommodate one of our party who has milk allergies). They have good size booths and we were seated on time. You can't beat that!

Food and service couldn't be any better! Came here a couple months back just for a drink and am so glad I tried it for a dinner date. Love the atmosphere and again, the food was fantastic!

Waiter messed up bringing dessert out with a candle to celebrate our friend’s birthday. That was the whole reason we were there.

Great food and great service. My only complaint was the table space was tight. However James who was our server brought me a chair so that I could put my legs under the table.

Always a favorite of ours, Aquitane has never disappointed us. We had fois gras, escargot, filet au poivre and a lovely wine. The service was fantastic yet unobtrusive. My girl was delighted with her birthday celebration.

We love Aquitaine for pre theater meals. Most recently we went for a late brunch. The menu is innovative and provides great options. The staff is gracious and attentive. Our orders were delicious, and left us wanting to further explore the menu. We'll definitely return.

Food & service were fantastic as always. The ambiance is also a delight. Love this spot, and already want to go back to try a few other things on the menu! Starting...
with the French onion soup!

Always good at Aquitaine. Would usually give it all "very good" to "outstanding" but for this particular evening our party of six was in the front room next to the front windows, normally the place to be, but the temperature outside was in the low teens at best and the room was not that much warmer. We all wore our down parkas during dinner as they were having some issue with keeping the temperature inside up to snuff. Hence, not the usual, enjoyable evening at Aquitaine. We will be back, however; perhaps not on a rather cold evening, but a typically very good restaurant otherwise.

I love Aquitaine. I use to dine at Aquitaine when I lived in Boston 10 years ago. This was the first time in 10 years I finally went again. The decor was updated beautifully. The food even better than what I remember. Now my favorite in Boston and that is coming from s person who frequents Manhattan restaurants.

Hadn't been to Aquitaine for several years (just because of a change in favorite theatres) but was happy to find that it's now at least as good as in the past. The service was a real team effort, and uniformly friendly. We discovered a new dish, gnocchi and rabbit, that was astonishingly well seasoned, and a Trimbach wine I'd managed to overlook for much too long. The menu and wine list will give us much to explore when we return, and we most certainly will. Highly recommended.

OK Aquitaine, all is forgiven...
Our visit after a long absence was a brilliant success on all counts. A January encounter had left us disappointed - surprisingly bland, under-seasoned food (!), very atypical for this lovely restaurant - where had our long-time favorite Aquitaine gone? Well, happy to say, it's back. Front desk greeting was warm, the room itself remains a stunner, from the Italian-designed oscillating golden ceiling fans to the gentle lighting, bright enough to read the menu, yet soft enough for creating an inviting mood. Seating is a bit tight, but roomy enough on the elegant banquettes that run the length of one side of the space. An eclectic clientele, running the gamut from South End hipsters out for a quick bite to nattily attired couples and foursomes, dressed like people used to dress when going out on the town. The menu is still very interesting, with a wide choice of options and daily specials. One of us opted for a creamy and rich black truffle risotto appetizer followed by a piquant filet of beef au poivre, perfectly sauced and prepared just as specified, accompanied by a delicious potato galette. We also enjoyed an endive salad with walnuts and bleu cheese - fresh and beautifully balanced - and a tender and delicious sautéed herbed veal special served with a silky rich potato puree and perfect haricots verts, with wonderful enoki mushrooms peeking out from under - absolutely delicious. Diego, our knowledgeable server, was first-class, catering to our every request and offering us perfect wine pairings from Aquitaine's comprehensive list.
This was a lovely, unrushed evening of top-drawer bistro-style dining, with attentive service and carefully prepared, delicious food. Bravo, Aquitaine - we'll be back very soon.

Everything was fine as always. We brought some French friends and they commented that the ambience was that of a brasserie. When are you reopening your branch in Chestnut Hill? We frequent that one also.

Delicious as always - had lovely salad with goat cheese to start then a very delicious haddock special with lobster sauce. Only criticism is it could have come out a bit hotter temperature wise. Can be a little boisterous on a busy night but overall atmosphere is very nice. A long time neighborhood favorite.

I have been here 3 times for dinner and always had great service and food. I thought brunch would be a no-brainer. We were 5 minutes early for our Reservation. Remained standing by the host stand even though many tables were open. When finally seated, here were NO menus available. After a few minutes we got menus. 2 of us ordered drinks- which came after our entrees had arrived. The waiter asked the men their orders before the women at the table and was not as professional as the staff in the evening. Overall was extremely disappointed in the food and service. Would NOT come here for brunch ever again and will question dinner now after that experience.

We had a lovely server from Sweden who was so warm and welcoming. She made our birthday experience great! The French onion soup was so cheesy and gooey. A perfect warm up on the cold day we were eating. The ambiance was great too. Big red leather benches and great lighting. Would definitely eat there again

I ordered the steak frites cooked medium and it came out rare and cold. Steak wasn’t warm and the fries weren’t either. My date got the sole and it was ok but not a lot of flavor. My main gripe is with the steak. How did the server take that out of the window and think that was presentable as a steak cooked medium? Honestly part of the steak was cold and rare to the point I didn’t want to eat it and I love steak.

This was a fantastic dinner and great service. We happened to be there on a quiet night (right after Thanksgiving) so the place was pretty empty - I imagine that when it's full, it can get quite noisy, which is not something I enjoy and would definitely have dropped a star for me. However, if you don't mind noise - this is definitely a solid choice for tasty food and great wine list.
