Aquitaine Dedham at Legacy Place Ratings and Reviews
Went for brunch. There were 4 of us. We all ordered different items. Everyone said the same thing. Food and service were excellent. Our server, Renee, was fantastic. She provided outstanding service. She was wonderful to talk to and knows how to provide top level service.
I like this restaurant. The service is great and the food is excellent. Two negatives. It is very, very noisy. And, we noticed the portions were quite a bit smaller than we've gotten in the past. I was still hungry.
But generally a very nice place for dinner after a movie or lunch with a friend
The food is delicious and we only went to Dedham because our much more intimate Chestnut Hill location is under renovation. Never again on a Saturday night! It was a hideous din of noise, so crowded you couldn't even get to the bar and our seating was a half hour beyond our reservation. I think this reflects the entire Legacy Mall restaurants on a Saturday night, try another night for quiet enjoyment.
Difficult to find parking on a Saturday night. Very loud - I wouldn't call it "energetic" as the default option in the survey does. More like "annoying" because it is difficult to hear someone from across the table. Food is pricey - small portions of fish. This place is good for lunch but dinner was unremarkable.
I have been to Aquitaine so many times and always loved it. This time the server was terrible. We were so surprise since it was very early and hardly any diners. She did not greet us for 10 minutes, said bread would be out and we waited and waited no bread. We asked if the bread was coming when they served us our entrees. She never checked back and was scarce. The salad was overdressed as well as the octopus app. The coq au vin was good. My husband paid the bill and just said please give me $10 change back (it included a nice tip) but she only gave us back $8 and again was no where to be found. We were dissapointed.
Food was tasty, service was excellent and the ambiance was great. We went to celebrate a wedding anniversary and the hostess, Aoflee, was superb. Checked in on us several times to see if we had any allergies they should be aware of and to see how we were enjoying our meal. She even brought over a complementary shrimp bruschetta appetizer for the table for the anniversary celebration. Our server, Cornelia, was delightful and very knowledgeable about the menu. Any questions we had she followed up about diligently with the chef and made any adjustments necessary to meet dietary restrictions. She was also very warm and friendly. The staff as a whole seemed to work very smoothly and pleasantly together. We finished just about every last morsel of our food. The cod dish and the miso salmon were especially delicious. Highly recommended, especially if you have a special occasion. Aquitaine will take good care of you!
I’ve been going here for years. However, on this night. The waitress informed us that they were “out of a lot of the items on the menu” 2 out of the 3 entrees were not available. 1 appetizer and one dessert also not available. Not sure why they would open for business if they did not have enough food.
As usual the food was very good. We started with Caesar Salad, Calamari, Pear Stilton tart. All were excellent. The Tart was outstanding. The Calamari was excellent, though for the price the portion could certainly be larger. It's quite a bit larger at Legal seafood around the corner(though not quite as good). For our mains I had the Sole, which was excellent. Again the portion for the price could be a little larger. Richard had the Coco vin, which was excellent & a good sized portion. Desserts were The Pain Perdu & Apple Tart tatin. Both were excellent. The Pain Perdu is one of my favorites. Our waiter, Alex was fine. We saw Renee', who's outstanding. the last time we were there, the restrooms were out of order & you were understaffed. Renee' really kept that place together. She's a true asset & I hope you guys take care of her accordingly!
Restaurant opens at 11:30am, got seated as soon as we arrive at 11:45am (our reservation time).
Ordered appetizers (escargot and mussels) and was told that they were out of escargot - disappointing! Ended up getting just the mussels, which were delicious and come out right away.
Ordered 3 sandwiches and an omelette. It took a while for our food to come out and didn’t know why. When the food finally came out, the bread on duck sandwich was very greasy, burger was okay and the omelette was nothing special. Though, I did like the avocado toast.
Ordered hot chocolate cake, apple tart and creme brûlée and was told that they ran out of the creme brûlée -another disappointment!
We left Aquitaine unsatisfied and decided to go to check out Cafe Nero for hot cider, hot chocolate and espresso!
Our waiter was very professional and we appreciated that, because our table was never set properly. We had to take items from a neighboring table, like bread plates for example.
The only real complaint was the grilled octopus for $14.95 which was consisted mostly of fingerling potatoes rather than octopus. This is an exorbitant price for potatoes... I would never order this appetizer again.
Aquataine never disappoints. My husband and I went for an early dinner on New Years Eve.
We had a 6 o'clock rez, arrived at 5:30 and asked if it was ok to eat at the bar instead of our table. "of course, whatever you like" was the response. Off to a great start. We ordered the specials--Lobster risotto and beef tenderloin. Both were perfect, so delicious. bartender Alex was very personable and attentive. We will be back soon.
One of the best restaurants at Legacy Place - hands down, Aquitaine does a stellar job at delivering on the French bistro ambiance - along with classy touches like real tablecloths & napkins - great outdoor seating in the summer - and an impressive bar. We had scallops and pork - both beautifully prepared. Service is always top-notch - with team willing to go the extra mile with extra TLC, as they surprised us with this visit for my wife's birthday. Vraiment tres bien - merci!
Our overall experience is always very good at Aquitaine. Our server was very gracious and knowledgeable.
We had a variety of dishes from trout to lamb and they were all delicious. The beans served with the lamb were not as warm as I would have liked, but did not compromise the dish. The gremolata was a good addition to the dish. Everyone else had very positive feedback about their meals
