My wife and I have come to enjoy this restaurant very much. They have many fine dishes and great service. It is a fine place to dine and have conversation. We have often invited friends to join us there.
The meals here are consistently delicious. It is always a good experience to dine here.
We were pleasantly surprised by the large selection and the quality of food at this cozy restaurant. The "strip mall" (for lack of a better word) location belies what's inside. The atmosphere on this particular night was somewhat marred by the holiday -- Valentine's Day, where tables are inevitably far too close for a romantic meal -- but this is par for the course on Feb. 14 (truly the worst night for a romantic meal out!) Aquitaine didn't exploit the holiday with a prix fixe requirement, which I appreciated. The duck had a wonderful smoky flavor, and the dessert portions were quite large. Our waitress was friendly, efficient, experienced and enthusiastic.
I love this restaurant - one of my favorites in the neighborhood. Their steak frite is always terrific, and the Pain Perdue (dessert) is heaven on earth. Be sure to say hi to Eric at the bar - he's always ready with a great wine recommendation.
My husband and I chose Aquitaine for Valentines Day and were not disappointed.
Great service and great ambiance. The food is very good although the veal schnitzel I had could have used a little more seasoning. Overall, I love this place.
We dined wth friends and had a wonderful dinner. Two had the special of the night - Artic Char; one had Trout and the other person had the Sole. The chef does fish very well and we end up usually having one of the fish entrees. Recommend that you give them a try.
The food is always truly delicious! I have been to small casual dinners as well as planned a very special event. I have never heard a complaint about anythiny from appetizers to desserts, regarding quality or quantity. This is one of our families favorite places to exxperience dining.
Food was cold and were not flexible to substitutions.
This is a regular stop for us because it never disappoints. I love their French onion soup and the profiteroles are great too. My scallops were perfectly prepared and the services was efficient and unobtrusiveness. It's a nice place and always quite busy despite all the new competition.
Always reliable and tasty! Noisy and tables are close together.
We've enjoyed Aquitaine for dinner. This is the first time we were there for brunch. I was wonderfully surprised by the menu choices. All of our party was thrilled with their choices. The service was spot on.We will definitely return and highly recommend the Aquitaine for brunch.
I hadcalled to increase our number to 4 and was told thatcwas fine. We arrived with my 90 yr old mother and the 4 of us were squeezed into a booth made for 2 in the bar area! When we complained, the male host was pretty rude and told we had requested a booth! I then asked to see this request and I was told that as we had a genetic Open Table reservation, they put you where they have space!!! We sat there and ordered our wine and noticed a change of the host to a hostess. We then approached her and she very graciously moved us to a table for 4 in the main restaurant. There were pkenty of tables!! An embarrassing and not pleasant start to a special night
The mussels were superb. This is a place that never disappoints.
Always good food!
Aquitaine came through as usual with delicious, interesting food
easy to park
I've been to this restaurant many times and for the first time I had a disappointing meal. The croque monsieur sandwich was weird. It tasted like there was horseradish in it and it was dry. The tomato soup was delicious - up to their usual standards. My husband loved the veal, so I'm guessing I just had a miss. I would not order this sandwich again, but I would definitely go back.
Food (at lunch time) was good but service was lackadaisical and inattentive. Atmosphere was a bit dull and stodgy.
Mediocre experience that soured us on this Aquitaine location. We have tried other locations and enjoyed them but we won't be going back here. Service was a little slow but we were having a nice conversation so no big deal. Food came out in two waves separated by 10min, all cold. One of 5 dishes (French toast) was good. Omelet was fine but came with potatoes that were both burnt and cold. Burger was bland and undercooked. 2 eggs Benedict were ice cold, sent one back (never done that before) and it came back 15 minutes later having clearly just been placed under a heat lamp for that time. Server apologized and did the best he could, but food was just not good and more effort (by chef, and by the manager who was standing there but never came over or acknowledged the issues) would have gone a long way. Not worth the cost - there are many brunch locations that are cheaper, tastier, and more professionally run than here.
Great neighborhood place. We have been here maybe 20 times. Highly recommend
it for a good solid meal.
The place is an old stand by. I always enjoy going there. I would recommend it to
anybody looking for a solid good meal.
My husband and I dined here on NYE (and have never been here before). I was nervous that the food would be mediocre, but was very impressed with the mussels (in Sancerre with thyme). They were wonderful! The waitress brought us extra bread to dip in the sauce, so yummy. I also enjoyed my beef bourguignon. The meat was done perfectly and melted in my mouth. Great time all around.
We dined here on New Year's Eve. I asked for a quiet booth and we got a nice corner one. The music speaker was right above my head and early on, the music got too loud. We asked if it could be turned down and it was. We had a very professional waitress. Our cocktails were brought quickly and were good. The whole timing of the meal was right. Not too quick and not too slow. Our appetizers, entrees and dessert were very good. I would definitely recommend Aquitaine and will probably return.
Was there for New Year's Eve. Service was great. Menu needed some help. Too many items on the menu that you can make at home very easily. Best part of meal was bread and baby popovers.
As per usual, a consistently "go to" local restaurant with excellent and interesting food, good service, good cocktail, beer and wine list and reasonable prices considering the neighborhood.
Food was very good and the atmosphere was cozy. We went for Christmas even dinner and our family party of six was happy with the choice.
Very good imaginative food. Table was very uncomfortable due to a table base that left no room to put your feet.
I had an amazing meal here for a Sunday brunch. Eggs benidict where cooked perfectly and the holendaise was delicious.
Birthday celebration ! Everything was average ! Nothing new on menu !
Aquitaine maintains a good standard of cuisine and service.
When we just want to have a nice dinner out on the weekend, Aquitaine Bid always comes to kind. Food is always good and the service is great.
We very much enjoyed our dining experience.
Only negative is that when we walked in the restaurant at 5:15 (because it was so cold and windy out we could no longer shop outdoors),
the gentleman asked us to come back when they opened at 5:30.....
I think he should have informed us that they don't start serving until 5:30 and would we like to sit and have a drink at the bar?..... that would have been much better than sending us back out into the cold....... not a great first impression .
I've been coming to Aquitane for years, both in this location and the South End. It never disappoints. The food is consistently delicious and service terrific. I was taking my nephew for dinner who was on break from grad school. It was a special night for us to get together.
Always an excellent meal. Great staff
Conversation possible which is a treat in this era of noisy restaurants
We always enjoy Aquitqaine Bis--service is outstanding. Food is consistently good.
Really excellent meal. The menu varies and sometimes new items aren't that tasty. Pain Perdu dessert and their fries are always great
We go here often, and have always enjoyed the place. Consistently very good. Highly recommended.
Great Saturday brunch with New friends
