We are closed through late fall 2017 for renovations.
Aquitaine Bis brings Paris and one of Boston's favorite Bistros to the suburbs. Executive Chef Seth Woods' seasonal menu feature all the favorites and traditions of Aquitaine - Bar à Vin Bistrot in the South End along with new items created specifically for the Newton location.
We serve lunch and dinner daily including a popular brunch on both Saturday and Sunday.

My boyfriend and I went to dinner here after a meeting in the city and it was perfect. The menu was great and we both loved our dishes. He got the salmon and I got the veal- we were both super impressed! If we weren't full we would certainly have tried something from the great looking dessert menu. A great night with great service!
The food was subpar for a French restaurant with intended ambiance and menu prices like the Aquitaine chain. I've had much better experiences at their Boston locations. Perhaps the menu descriptions were deceiving but i ordered roasted chicken with broccoli rabe and my date ordered sole and both dishes were served with the overcooked meat atop a mountain of mashed potatoes and wilted vegetables. I would expect this at a mom and pop diner. The wine and cheeseboard were good and friendly service for the most part.
I met 2 different friends here for lunch in one week and the food was well prepared and the quiet of the restaurant allowed for 2 good long lunches filled with conversation. I wound up having the same server both times and although she was initially helpful, I found her rather distant and disinterested. We ordered coffee after lunch and it took a good 10-15 minutes for her to bring them with no apology. For the first lunch I had a half chicken salad sandwich and onion soup, both good, not great, and a Cobb salad the second lunch which was fresh and flavorful.
I will definitely be back, but hope to have a different server!
This was a repeat visit, for brunch, within a couple of weeks of a lunch visit. On the previous visit, I found the food pretty good but there had been a lack of attention to detail in the form of a missing ingredient. I'd hoped this time there might be an improvement; however, the opposite was the case. Omelette was bland; filling of onions and peppers was tasteless as well. No seasoning on (tiny) portion of potatoes either. Toast was on cusp of being burnt; no jelly or jam was brought. Worst of all was the stale frosted cinnamon bun.
Ok food with odd service. Found the food mediocre especially considering the price and the drinks were heavily watered down.
Didn't find the food or drinks as good as their other locations. Do not think we will be returning.
