Citrus beurre monte, lemon supremes, snap peas, pomme de terre puree & parsley
Artisan Greens, Soft Ripened Goat Cheese, Hazelnuts & Crane Crest French Dressing
French Onion Soup
Bone broth, aged sherry, croutons, emmenthaler & gruyere
The schnitzel was overcooked -dry and tasteless. Leather like in texture.
In the past it was served with mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes would have helped out the dry, chewy meat.
The salad was insubstantial.
The meal did not measure up to former meals. we probably will not return for dinner.
The server was pleasant and attentive.
Not too loud until bad popular music started.
Should have been French to match ambiance.
The French onion soup was delicious-as was the bread.
Third visit to Aquitanne Chestnut Hill. Very good service with excellent dinner selections and quality.
The music was so loud ! It was hard to think I go for food not to hear music
First time visiting, went for an anniversary brunch and was delighted at the taste and quality
It was very friendly and great food. The portions were small for main coarse
I thought the sole dish was undersized and although we enjoyed sitting and drinking out wine, the service was a bit slow. Perhaps they are simply working out the kinks to having a full house after a long period of slow demand.
Server was very good and attentive. Food was overall very good although the duck entree was bland and had avocado mousse which is an unusual addition to duckling. The pasta, salads, and crime brûlée were delicious as well as the mussels. We have been there in the past and will return.
Outstanding service and delicious food and wine. Loved it!
Food and drinks were excellent albeit overpriced. Service was attentive and responsive except for 1 major slipup: there were only 2 of and one of our meal orders either did not get submitted or got lost since it quickly became obvious that only 1 of the meals had been cooked. We had to send the first meal back to the kitchen to be reheated and wait for the second meal to be prepared. Otherwise, we had a lovely time, were not rushed, and ate a very nice, leisurely dinner.
Our waiter was also the sommelier, and he suggested a wine with our dinner that we wouldn't have picked on our own, and it turned out to go much better with our entree than our original choice. That is certainly something that I value.
Wonderful— loved every aspect!
Evening out with my wife and son, and like always a great service and high quality food, and I love there new menu.
We have been there several times and will be back again, this has turned out to be our favorite restaurant in Newton, and we use it as mush as possible
Service was excellent. We bought had the french onion soup -excellent. The bread was superb. I had the evening special which was pan fried cod -VERY salty. My friend had the salmon and she enjoyed that. We had house chardonnay -very good. Desert was good. All in all a nice evening. Food was good but other special. Our waiter was excellent!
Great evening: good food, good fine, great conversation!
Most of the food was pretty bland. Escargots and mussels were fine though. Burrata, vegetables all just without flavor at all. Service borderline.
For quality and prep not what they used to be. Disappointing.
Service and food was outstanding...
My night for bread and butter and it did not disappoint!!
We had a fine meal with both steak frites and a carafe of wine. The service was great.
Everything was fabulous; from food to service
After placing an order for Eggs Benedict and the american breakfast - it took 50 minutes for the food to arrive. Food was cold on a heated plate.
Returned food to be re-cooked - arrived 35 minutes later - totally overcooked - poached eggs were similar to a hard boiled egg and lukewarm. Fried eggs ordered over easy - came out but extremely well done - potato side originally cold on first service - came out with only 5 pieces which were only warm. Was told that they were terribly short staffed in kitchen - no excuse. Establishment used to be great - they should think of closing it.
Good omelette, simple but tasty. The restaurant was out of two items on their lunch menu, and it was only 1:00, but I give them a pass since they're just coming back after the pandemic.
Our sever was excellent. I ordered the salmon cooked rare and it was brought to the table well done. The server was very apologetic and a new dish was brought back promptly to the table done rare. However, my husband ordered the sole and while it tasted good, the portion was so small ....probably about 3 ounces or so.....certainly not enough for an adult male. Unfortunately, we won't be going back because the $'s don't have enough value.
Truly great burger and French onion soup, mediocre tuna tartare. Took the waited aobout 15 minutes to stop by after we were seated. Host was incredibly rude, she seemed put off by our request to not sit right by the entrance (there were several other tables available) and by our request for physical menus instead of on our phones (she had a large stack of menus behind her).
Aquitaine Bis was perfect for a family birthday party with children and somewhat infirm relatives. The food was tremendous and the champagne was a nice touch. The only downside was the waiter was slow to bring out the birthday celebrant's dessert.
The service was spotty, booth, which I requested, way too tight. Visited the Dedham site, countless times, w my friends. Always a great experience, delicious food and top notch service. Unfortunately, this experience did not impress.
We went to Aquitaine Bis for a birthday celebration and it was as good as expected. It’s the second time we’ve been to Aquitaine since the Covid-19 rules have been relaxed and was my choice for a celebration meal as one of my favorite restaurants.
The staff were so accommodating when we had two extra guests join at the last minute. Brunch was delicious!
My husband had the tuna tartare for an appetizer which was excellent. I had the mussels which were over cooked and dried out, not typical for Aquitaine. Our entrees we’re very good, steak frites and the sole. Dessert we had the chocolate mousse which was delicious!
Service was terrible for the fact that there were only three tables taken. Food was disappointing.
Excellent cocktails , food, and service.
Outside patio is lovely.
I know it is hard to get help but do train them when you get them. Server was pleasant but inattentive, forgot things, etc. obviously she was new and you were short staffed but stil…
We had great food from you through the pandemic. This in person meal was way below par. My veal schnitzel which I order often was fried to a crisp and almost inedible but I did not think I would get another plate of food in a reasonable time.
Wondering whether or when we should return which is too bad.
2 hour service is outrageous for a party of two. Understand there is lack of personnel but management should limit the tables accordingly. The food was mediocre: mussels weren’t properly debearded, the veal schnitzel was super dry and the breading was much more thick than the veal cut, also it left unpleasant oil aftertaste; my husband ordered his steak to be cooked medium and it came almost well done. Would expect more from such restaurant, won’t be back and won’t recommend to anyone. Wasted money and just left bad taste both food and experience wise.
Went to Aquaraine for brunch. I hadn't been since the pandemic began. Despite it being full, it was father's day, and being short two servers, the service was good. Our food was great, better than before. I had the avocado tart I need and added smoked salmon. My bother had the Croque Madam and the mussels. Everything was great. Very enjoyable.
Worst service I have ever had at a decent restaurant.
We ate outside. They've done a nice job of converting a piece of parking lot into a private eating area, so you are not aware of being in a parking lot, except for the ground markings. Hope they keep this, really made dinner even more lovely as we enjoy eating al fresco. Our waiter was fantastic and the entire staff attentive, and this will be one of our reasons for returning. The food was excellent. We've eaten here before, but they never had the outdoor eating. What a lovely surprise, since the restaurant is so close to where we live. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back.
Our server, Jaime, makes every time we go to Aquitaine Bis a special event. Trust his recommendations if you are lucky enough to meet him. You cannot go wrong with the moules and steak frites!
Lovely outside on their makeshift patio.
We both had the schnitzel. which was very good as were the additional side of creamy potatoes Robichon.
Just a tiny bit of asparagus with the watercress garnish. Would have preferred asparagus and skip the watercress.
Love their warm bread.
Service was very good.
We sat at our table for 25 minutes before anyone brought us water (after walking from our table to the front of the restaurant and the bar three times vainly searching for a restaurant employee and requesting to order). A server never came over to our table. After 25 minutes, still not having been able to order even a drink, we left.
Aquitaine in Chestnut Hill has a wonderful atmosphere. The food is good. Service is outstanding. Drinks are terrific.
Please give comment boxes for each area. Overall, a delightful evening
