It was a pleasant evening to sit outdoors. The food was excellent; service fine. I would not recommend synthetic turf for the ground plane. Wood would have been better.

we loved the place in Dedham and when it closed, we went to the Chestnut Hill one. The first time was underwhelming, but we discounted that visit because it was just after Covid, This time it was worst. This had to be some of the worse food we have ever eaten out. The steak seemed to have been par cooked in water so it could be served quickly. The fries weren't even cooked. The duck had a B.O. odor to it and the pea puree had absolutely no flavor. Everything was severely under seasoned including lack of salt. Will not be going back.

Loved being at Aquitaine in Chestnut Hill. Food and Service both outstanding. Had the pate and their version of viener schnitzel. Just wonderful, eager to return.

Service and ambiance could not have been better. However, 2 of us ordered the Strip Steak which was entirely flavorless, and the pomme frite were more like pomme soaked-in-oil. Chocolate Mousse dessert also bland. Good Coffee, and the Pork Tenderloin special was very good. All in all a mixed bag. Oh…pet peeve. They cleared the table entirely, except for the 1 person who was still eating. I think that is really rude.

Overall a great experience. The seasonal heirloom tomato/watermelon/burrata salad was excellent as was the escargots. The moules frites was excellent as well with a nice fennel or tarragon flavor-wasn't sure--but the flavor and fragrance were superb. I recommend skipping the sole meuliere--the portion was tiny and I've had much better renditions. The staff was charming and attentive and the ambience very authentic.

Clearly understaffed (only 1 chef). There were 2 wait staff. The waiter was very good and responsive to his customers loudly explaining (so that we could hear) that things were not going well in the kitchen. Our waitress did not check up on us to keep us informed as to when our food would be served. We waited over an hour to get our food. The pork was served cold. The branzino was very good and the duck was mostly tough. All around us people were vocally unhappy with the service. We saw one family leave before their food was served. As we were in the patio, I don't know what was happening indoors. They should not have accepted reservations knowing that they could not accommodate customers appropriately. Very disappointing!

Server was great. Specifically did not order apps because of time constraints, server said he’d rush order. 45 minutes later still no food. When it finally came 2 of 3 dishes were cold, 1 of those extremely overcooked, 1 extremely undercooked.

Multiple tables sent food bad. Wrote the restaurant to discuss and weeks without a response. Very poor experience for a $200 dinner.

Waiter was terrific keeping us informed & managing expectations. Returning to new normalcy is a challenge. Clearly Aquitaine is working hard to regain their mojo which is a challenge considering all go the moving parts. Dinner was good although not up to the usual Aquitaine experience. Clearly, they were trying as best they could.

I booked my seat at 7:15, I had my food until 9pm, there was not so many people in the restaurant . The waitress said she ordered our food, but kitchen forgot the food.
it was our wedding anniversary dinner, for 90 mins we only had bread and butter. No-one asked the food , finally my 6 years old daughter was ready to sleep with hungry, they began to service the food. It was horrible experience I ever had in this restaurant. I hope someone will take serious about this .

We have eaten many time at Aquitaine and have had an exception dining experience. Not this past week. We arrived at 7:45 on Saturday and were promptly seated. Drink order and food order were short coming. After the drinks and appetizers were served we did not see the waiter for at least 45 minutes. I had to ask the front desk person to send us our waiter to find out the status of our meals. From the time we arrived to receiving the main dinner was almost a hour and a half. My food was cold as were 2 other main dishes in our party. Additionally it was not a busy evening for the staff. Very disappointed with this experience..

Sad to see a once very good restaurant go so far downhill. Our endive salads contained brown greens and the endive leaves were limp and past their peak. Steak frites ordered medium rare arrived well done ... and tough to boot. Strawberry sorbet tasted like it contained a chemical substance. We know that COVID has taken its toll on restaurants, but this was far beyond acceptability.

Aquitaine Bistro is a good neighborhood spot in Chestnut Hill. During the pandemic, they have been short staffed. The service is slow but friendly. The food remains top notch. The bread is fresh and warm.

Menu and culinary execution were perfect. Super inside or outside dining. Inside has been retrofitted for good spacing and glass patroons between tables. Service staff was excellent- attentive but not hovering and very knowledgable about the menu. A very pleasant dining experience. Better than I remember!

Nearly everything during Sunday brunch at Aquitaine Bis is perfect; the cuisine and its preparation and presentation, the attentive service, the general "look and feel" of the restaurant, and the wine list. The only detractor is the music. They used to play French Café-style and classic jazz at background music levels, but this time it was '80s and '90s American Pop Rock at an annoying sound volume, which detracted greatly from the French Café ambience. Also, until recently, the café was open for lunch during the week. We hope that management will resume this when the hospitality industry staffing situation improves.

Three of us had dinner on the patio last evening which was a wonderful setting. Your patio is such a good idea. The grass turf also added to the setting very nicely. Host was pleasant and our Server was very good. Wine was good too!

I had the sole dinner which was very good. However, two friends joining me each had the duck but found the duck a bit tough/over-cooked; just fair.

Pretends to be French, but is really not; the only exception to that would be the loooong service, typical of restaurants in France.
Food less than average:
$12 for a few greens (not even fresh!)and a small piece of goat cheese!
I ordered the sole meuniere, and what I got was a small piece of overcooked fish on a bed of mashed potatoes; to the chef there: SOLE MEUNIERE is the whole fish that has been cooked in a pan with lots of butter and served in a plate whole, covered with melted butter.

I end up paying over $200 for a meal for two that would have cost 50 euros in France given the dishes we had and the average food we were served, not to mention overpriced wine.
