I could not have been more pleased with our evening! I would recommend Aquitaine in all regards. Excellent meal, loved the vibe and the decor. Service was great. I had the steak which was cooked to perfection!

This week was my first time to Aquitaine, and couldn’t have been happier! Our server was accommodating and very knowledgeable. The food was absolutely delicious, they serve cheese puffs and a crunchy baguette before your meal!! Will be back for sure.

Disappointed with service (slow) but food was good. Was surprised at lack of people saying things like “welcome” or Happy Fathers Day, etc. not vital but always nice to hear. Crepes were cold, everything else really good.

Everything was fine EXCEPT the scallops Which sounded like they were in an Asian Based sauce and I Am Very flexible and thought these would be great, But honestly they tasted really bad. The Flavors Didn’t Blend Or have any special Flavor at all. My friend who also ordered the scallops said it was like “eating scallops swimming in pea soup”. Argggh.
Sorry. Usually the food here is So reliably good but we wondered if anyone in the kitchen had tried this dish!?
Go, but don’t order the scallops.

An updated and refreshed dining room still keeps the warmth and coziness of the original dining, while the food and service still shine. Thumbs Up!

Lunch time at 1 pm, not crowded so not noisy. Ordered pastrami sandwich and fries on menu, friend had Cobb salad. Not impressive quality or presentation but ok.
Waiter put dishes on table, walked away. No condiments were brought so had to ask. Had a watery iced tea. Waiter disappeared when time to pay so friend had to go find him.
Dinner better quality but very noisy. I like location and French bread.

Food and ambiance were good, but the service lacked attention and expertise. We were left waiting a few times, and the server didn't look very happy to help us.

Celebrating my 50th anniversary with my husband. Congratulated by our waiter and two other members of the staff. Given two glasses of sparkling wine on the house. Asked for and got a quiet corner. We will return.

This was the first time we had eaten at Aquitaine Bis since it was renovated. The food was superb. I had the endive salad and Sole meunière. My companions enjoyed the salmon and the mackerel special. The bread came out warm and wonderful. The restaurant is a bit loud. The renovations have allowed for many more tables and the place was bustling. They have achieved a very authentic French bistro style including a surly waiter. The service is the only reason I cannot give this restaurant five stars. Overall it was really a wonderful dinner. I am disabled in a scooter and they were very accommodating. Very glad they’re back.

We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Aquitaine in Chestnut Hill. The reservation system performed excellently - our table for 7 was ready right when we walked through the door. The waiters also had no problem joining another empty table to ours to give us more "elbow room". Our waiter was brilliant in attending to our every need - treating my family with the utmost in hospitality. The orders were sent and the dinner was paced to perfection - nothing was rushed, glasses were always filled, and he was never too far away.

The appetizers were delicious: a cheese plate, some escargot, a tuna tartare. Everything was presented as a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. My entree was the filet au poivre and it was a delicious cut of tender beef with some floral peppercorn accents. The potato au gratin side was a nice slab of thin slices with some creamy, melty cheeses.

Everyone was too full for dessert, but my previous visit can recommend the apple Tarte with caramel and vanilla ice cream - sweet and sour goodness to reward yourself.

Merci beaucoup, Aquitaine.

A small gem now across the street from the previous location at Chestnut Hill and parking is easy. Foraged mushrooms in an omelette with multigrain bread and amazing potatoes. Now serving a vegetable frittata as well. Hard to choose which and a lovely departure from the simple same breakfasts at local delis. This was my first time and I can still recall the complexity of the flavors.

We had an excellent dinner last night at Aquitaine Bis. For me, the Steak Frites was better than I have ever had it before. I really would like to know the secret of the sauce. My wife had the Mushroom Risotto, which was also excellent. We had excellent service from our server, as always.

We love the place, the staff is really friendly, the food is good and despite that, I give a 2 stars.
When we go to a restaurant, for brunch or diner (and even for lunch sometimes), I think we like to HAVE THE TIME enjoying a good meal with family or friends, and unfortunately in both times we went in this place (family brunch this time, lunch the first time), we weren’t able to feel that we had time... Sunday brunch for 4, 33 min overall for welcoming, order, service and check: we mostly had the feeling next clients were already there, waiting for our table, and it’s really not pleasant...

This was one if the best restaurants I have eaten at in many years. We had a wonderful waitress who had been there 15 years and was wonderfully attentive and knowledgeable! It was graduation weekend and the staff worked exceptionally hard to take care of everyone! Will definitely go there again when I’m back in Chestnut Hill, MA!

Two weeks ago, we made reservations for 7:30 on Saturday night. When we got there, we were told by the concierge that we could not be seated for at least half an hour because even the people with 7:15 reservations had not yet been seated. We eventually ate at the bar, and the bartender was very nice. But we are seriously disappointed at our reservation getting all messed up. We have just moved to this area and until this weekend, Aquitaine was our favorite new restaurant. Please do something to honor this major mistake on your part. Thank you, judy foreman

The saltiest escargots I’ve ever been served. A 45 minute wait for my main course and feeble excuses for the delay. Stay away.

The menu is great and the food (mussels, salmon, scallops, and sole) was terrific. The only difficulty was the delay in serving the main course. I think we were just unlucky. We had 90 min to get in and out before leaving to attend a show. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time for coffee and dessert. The food was fantastic and all 4 of us enjoyed every bite. We’ll return!

The reopened Aquitaine in Chestnut Hill is improved in two ways: rearranged layout and glass panels reduce the noise; and the menu is a bit more varied and interesting. Food was excellent, although the choices for desserts were limited and portions small.

Came here for a birthday dinner for a friend. The duck entree was delicious! Pate entree was great: wish there was just a little more accompaniments ie jam or honey. Just a little concerned about the floors that seemed really slippery on a rainy day.

Mother’s Day Brunch.

Coffee sloppily poured leaving stains on mug and tabletop.

Food intended to be hot was NOT. Not sure quiche was even at room temperature. Omelet was rubbery as though it had been sitting for a while—and it was not warm. Cheese had started to congeal.

Server offered to bring replacements. We didn’t want to run risk. Disappointed that some accommodation wasn’t made on check.
