A nice upscale neighborhood restaurant. We will be back! My only wish is that they didn't add truffle oils to 75% of the things on the menu. It limits the choices for people like me who don't enjoy truffles.

This is a favorite place for us and friends from California. The service was a little slow but the food was delicious. We just wish the music were less like elevator music and more like French classics or classical music.

My guest stood me up on the 13th, but I did have lunch on the 11th. Everything was fine but the service. Our plates were never cleared. We were not offered bread.

I am glad to have Aquitaine bis back as a dining option in Chestnut Hill, especially given that so many restaurants in the area are closed on Mondays. Aquitaine bis was, in fact, busy when I met a friend there for lunch this past Monday, with most tables filled with pairs or groups of ladies of a certain age (like ourselves), and a few mixed-gender tables that looked more business-oriented. The restaurant's quiet ambience provides a welcome venue for people who like to be able to hear each other across the table. As always, the food at Aquitaine bis is very good, but, as always, the service remains problematic. As far as I could tell, there were only two servers working during the lunch shift -- not enough to cover both dining rooms. The part of the restaurant that used to be the bar/lounge is now a dining room, and that was where we were seated. There were stretches of 10 minutes or more when neither server made it into that smaller dining room, and I eventually had to get up and chase down one of the servers to request a refill for my water glass. I do hope that Aquitaine bis re-evaluates its staffing needs to accommodate all the diners who'd like to enjoy the restaurant's elegant and delicious cuisine!

Lots of easy parking. Bistro-oid motif. Excellent waiter and service. Pretty extensive wine list with some reasonably good values. Best baguette in town. Appetizer (snails) only average but scallops for the main course were as good as they come. What's there not to like?

We are regulars, and have been for a long time. Place was packed with diners. Something should be done about the noise level. Very hard to hear one another across a table.

Really excellent in every way. The service was warm, efficient, and very helpful. The food was excellent. And the ambience is classic, comfortable, and pretty quiet.

Very busy Saturday night. Waited 30 minutes past our reservation to get seated. Had a drink at the bar so it was fine.
Food was excellent but small portions with no veggies. Just fish with a few sliced potatoes . Flavorful but everyone felt the drinks ($14 drinks) and food were overpriced.
Our waitress was attentive and friendly.
Overall we had a good time but because it’s overpriced will go less often.

Aquitaine is a great restaurant to brings friends and family for a special treat. The food is delicious and the servers are excellent.

Their menu offers something for every palette. The grilled duck breast with wild rice is outstanding.

The restaurant is cozy and welcoming.

Two senior guys for Friday lunch. Arrived just before noon and got a booth. Excellent brasserie-type menu. After a very good Manhattan-type cocktail I had the Duck Terrine and Steak Frites. Enough of each protein to take some home for supper. The other guy also had a cocktail, soup and one of the Croques. One glass each of Malbec. An espresso and a cappuccino and done. Overall outstanding. Bar service a bit slow but we were in no hurry.

I love Aquitaine Chestnut Hill and am happy it reopened after being closed a long time for remodeling. The atmosphere is cozy, the food is quite good and the service is gracious. The bar is welcoming, with Eric at the helm. My only caveat is the food has been a little inconsistent...tepid soup, bendy fries. Keep paying attention to the details, please!

The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is kind. This time, however I did not like the food. I have been there once before and the food was good. This time I chose French onion soup and I did not like it at all. It was too salty, with too much bread (baguette). I tried the dessert and I was disappointed too. It was disappointing because I went there now for a more special occasion.

Bread was good, as was the pate. However, I had the sole, which disappointed. How a French restaurant takes sole and makes it flavorless and dry is beyond me. Nice decor. Waitress made some mistakes that could have been corrected more quickly had she checked in more frequently.

Aquitaine is a great blend of delicious food and bistro ambiance, very cozy. The menu is varied with something for everyone. Food is presented creatively. Good portions. Wonderful place for brunch, lunch or dinner. It has a great little bar and serves excellent cocktails.

Our waiter was perfect.
He surprised st the end of the meal with champagne to help us celebrate our first bridal dress shopping adventure.
Previously I had enjoyed the superlative service and food at the Boston location after a theatre experience , and another Mother’s Day meal and I can whole/heartedly recommend for a delightful experience.

Overall very nice restaurant. Service was off the night we were there. The wait for our entrees was absurdly long and the quality of the food seemed a bit off from what we had experienced in the past. Possible the restaurant was having a bad evening. We would give it another try.

My husband and I had a reservation at Aquitaine at 7:30 on a Saturday night. Service was slow, they seemed understaffed. We ordered drinks and an appetizer, got those after a small wait. Our dinner, however, didn't come to the table for an hour after we finished our appetizers. The waitress didn't come by to check on us, she sent the manager over to tell us our dinner was coming....seems she knew that things had gone wrong and didn't want to hear any complaints. We got our dinner around 8:45. The entree was cold but the french fries were hot, it seems that they couldn't get it together in the kitchen to deliver both the steak and steak frites warm. Dinner was not at all enjoyable. We wanted to have dessert, but when the waitress finally came by with the dessert menu we decided to decline since the kitchen was obviously in chaos. I told the waitress we were celebrating my birthday, it was only then that she felt badly.

Our bad experience wasn't as bad as the party of 4 next to us. They flagged the manager twice because they figured that the kitchen lost their order. They waited an hour and 40 minutes for their entrees and still hadn't been served by the time we left around 9pm.

Not thrilled with returning after extremely long hiatus for renovations. Portions were tiny, fish was super salty, and servers were not as accommodating as before the reopening. Probably won’t back.

This is simply the best. When it was closed for renovations last year the queue of stressed and eager customers peered in the windows and waited it out. Now open again and well worth the fan loyalty.

We love Aqutaine! The servers are excellent and the food is delicious. The menu is varied and offers something for every palette. Good portions. Excellent cocktails.

It’s been renovated and has an upbeat yet cozy feel. Wonderful bar. Excellent grilled duck breast!

Mussels and pate never disappoint. Classic French prep. Outstanding menu selection - always hard to choose. Steak frites is a must. Cooked to perfection - great blend of flavors. Our waiter Jimmy was fantastic. Great balance between fun and professional. Made great recommendations. Truly contributed to the success of the evening. Looking forward to going back soon!!!!
