Sunday night dinner with family
Love the decor in the restaurant. It is very cozy. The food is good and so is the service.
We go there on regular basis for drinks, snacks, dinner but this was the first time going there for brunch. Manager did a great job accommodating our large group and our server did a fantastic job. Brunch menu has a variety of options but food was not impressive. It was missing the regular "wow factor".
I was a little disappointed. Both entrees came to the table incorrectly prepared. The waitress was very accommodating, but she cannot control the kitchen. My first experience was very good, so I am hoping this was a one-time issue.
Although I loved it, the restaurant was aggressively turning the table. The waitstaff actually cleared a plate from beneath my chin while I was nibbling on bread after the meal
One of our favorite restaurants. My husband ordered the scallops which were tender and delicious. I got the chicken which was outstanding. The service was spectacular. Excellent evening all around!!
We go to Aquitaine Bis at Chestnut Hill when we want something a little more than our go to neighborhood restaurant. The atmosphere and the food are a step up so it’s worth a slightly longer ride.
It's almost impossible to combine high-sophistication in tone and fare with a cozy, friendly, easygoing dining experience, but Aquitane does it brilliantly.
We found the lobster pasta special to be wonderful. It was spicy, but the flavor of the lobster still dominated the experience
Charming busy friendly
Really nice escargot with warm fresh 🥖
Kale s not my fav so bad choice by me
Wine selection wonderful
Food a bit salty but excellent. A bit to tight - too many tables -
Not enough space between rows of tables to walk.
Incredible - well thought out, perfectly- cooked meals paired with phenomenal service and a great environment. What could be better?
Food was great as expected but we missed the little cheesey puffs.
Poor service at brunch, despite relatively empty restaurant. No offers for coffee refills, meals arriving at odd intervals, some cold. Unfortunate, as dinner experience has been good.
Always consistently good. Great place to meet friends because it isn’t too loud. A go-to neighborhood restaurant with nice staff and great food.
Amazing, as always. This time we tried their brunch...which was equally fantastic.
We went for brunch. The host and server were very very good - friendly, professional, competent, very nice. The food was only ok. Frittata was dry and tasteless, and small. The duck hash was a fried patty of hash with no discernible taste of duck, and a small portion. Prices were high for the small portions and flavorless food. Before the renovation the food was much better and better value. We won’t be back.
The food was unexceptional. My steak fritter had no zest. The frittes were okay. My escargot were tasty.
The food is excellent. Good quality.
OMG! Have to fight to keep the servers from removing food before you are finished. Second time in a row we had to snatch bread back, and I had carefully saved the goat cheese from my salad for my burger and while my head was turned it was snatched away. Ask if patron is done? Really irritating.
Great food. Wonderful staff.
Went for my birthday with my wife and 97 year old mother and everything was excellent. Thoughtful and warm service. Perfect Manhattan. Good wine selection and diverse menu. Will come again.
Overall the experience was good, but for a restaurant of this level and price point the quality of the food was inconsistent. Our entrees(lamb and duck) were excellent but each of us had a course that was not up to par- a ricotta tart appetizer that had runny and tasteless ricotta, and a desert of profiteroles that was quite poor ( pastry that was cake-like and heavy rather than flaky and light). Everything at a restaurant at this level should be excellent. Have previously had more consistently excellent food, so this may have been an unfortunate anomaly. Service and ambiance, as usual, was exceptional.
We are coming back this Saturday night- reserv made by my daughter Wiley McCarthy - and would appreciate a quiet table.
Your bread is the best we’ve had since we moved from New Orleans!
Lousy brunch food and ridiculously expensive for breakfast .
Auquitaine has been a reliable dining experience for each time we have been there, at any location. We like the variety as well. We have enjoyed lunch with the family, dinner a friend or a casual date night. It’s upscale, but not too much. And it’s easy to pair a starter and entree. Dessert tends to be mostly cream based and typically we are satisfied with the meal and do not order dessert.
This is our second visit to the renovated Aquitaine bis, and both times the service and food have been superb. Their wine list is even more overpriced than it was before, and it has very few options on the lower end of the scale. That is unfortunate, but with that exception everything else is excellent. We'll be back.
for an 11:30 brucnh : service was knowledgeable and courteous but slow. Food arrived way too late and cold. Bit the place become crowded and we understand traffic issues and control. Will probably go back.
We eat at Aqutaine every week. It’s a great place to bring friends. The menu selection are varied and they have a special for each day of the week.
The servers are outstanding! They are attentive and efficient as well as pleasant. They have great bartenders.
Reservations suggested or you can opt to sit at bar to eat.
The food was very inconsistent. The salmon, chicken and burger were good. The endive salad consisted of a lot of endive and not much else. The brussel sprouts were overcooked and bland.
When we asked the waitress to give us a few more minutes before ordering, she waited 15-20 minutes before returning to the table--and only after we finally signaled to her. Another waiter bumped into my chair carrying several plates of food. Almost a bad accident.
Always delicious and consistent food quality with great service & nice ambiance.
Very nice ambiance.
The service was a little rushed...the wait staff tried to clear our plates three times before we were ready...
The food was good as was the service but the place was almost empty on a Sunday night at 7:00 pm. Both entrees were around $30 and, while there was a decent amount of food and garniture, it makes for a fairly pricey dinner. It would be nice if they gave each of us TWO gougeres at the start of the meal. They are a nice touch, but ONE each? Can you spare it? A complimentary little chocolate or sweet at the end would be nice too since there are no light desserts (other than sorbet which might be fabulous but sounded ordinary on the menu). But, if you are looking for a really good, authentic steak frites, there is no place better. None.
Excellent brunch dish of duck hash and eggs, though the hash portion was a bit small and was not accompanied even by toast. We were also oddly seated across from the restroom, which was fine by me but it appeared there were other tables available. I love French food so I'll be back but may explore other items on the menu further.
Went for Sunday brunch....great menu, great service. Food was uneven, music too loud, but we have always loved Aquitaine and will continue to return.
I would recommend this restaurant because the food was outstanding. Our service was fair at best. We had to ask for drinks several times. We asked for bread and he responded "oh you want more" and we said we had never gotten any !! The service was very slow. In his defense he did want to take our order shortly after we sat down. We said we'd like to enjoy our drink. That was a big mistake because I think he took that to mean we were not interested in ordering at all!!
The restaurant was extremely noisy. It was very difficult to hear the people across the table. We were seated in the area with the bar. I've heard the other side of the restaurant is not quite as noisy. I would definitely request the other side.
It's a good thing the food is good. That was the saving grace!
Fabulous place for breakfast/brunch. Good drinks and amazingly very reasonable prices. Very nice decor and just the right amount of attention form the wait staff. We will be back!
I highly recommend Aquitaine. The good is always excellent and the service is superb. We need our monthly Aquitaine "fix" but we also go in between fixes when we want a quiet classy ambience. It's cozy and romantic.
