Two Michelin-starred and New York Times Three-starred Aquavit, located in Midtown Manhattan showcases seasonal, Modern Nordic fare and has been a pioneer of Nordic cuisine since opening in 1987. The restaurant has an extensive wine list as well as an aquavit infusion and cocktail program. The Bar Room offers an a la carte menu for a casual elegant experience. The Dining Room serves a 2 or 3 course prix fixe menu or a 5 course tasting menu for lunch and a 5 course tasting menu or a Chef's tasting menu for dinner. We also offer Private Dining spaces for both social and corporate gatherings.

    Our meal was amazing. Typically in a restaurant like this you have a few weaker items on a long tasting menu, but everyone of the courses was great, some amazing. The only weakness were the wine pairings. While every wine was good, their wasn't very many that seemed like it paired. I'm also continually disappointed that I don't get a great full bodied red wine, but that's my issue not Aquavit's. It was an outstanding meal, highly recommended.

    Interesting food with some new to me ingredients. Very salty and therefore inedible fish soup. One of my guests had the same problem. And one of the fish ingredients had a bad smell. I lost my appetite after that. Got free fruit plate desert.

    We ate at Aquavit many times in the past but probably the last time was 7 - 8 years ago. The food portions are now way too small and the prices are out of sight. We were very disappointed because we came all the way from DE to eat at Aquavit

    We eat at Aquavit every trip to NYC now, about twice a year. This trip we both had duck -- wonderfully tender, tough to do even in the best restaurants. Impeccable service. We'll be back this summer for sure.,

    I had high expectations. For a Michelin restaurant, this was far from any other I've been to. The seasonal menu was not good. Service was normal. Pricy for what it offers.

    Food was a notch lower than I remember it from previous visits. 7X beef is outstanding. Caviar was very good. The rest of the dishes were good to ok--nothing wrong with them but nothing memorable. The service was excellent. The lighting was brighter than before and needs to be adjusted.

    Food was fantastic, but a very limited selection (and then only prix fixe, which makes you feel cheap) if you wanted a regular dinner and not one of the two tasting menus. The atmosphere (double-wide table-spacing, low music, formal presentation of courses) is a little stuffy/formal, which is keeping prices high and holding it back from attracting a better mix of younger and older diners. The various amuse bouches and intermezzos that emerged from the kitchen were ridiculously good, and it made you wish some of them were on the menu! The restaurant needs to feel a little less Volvo station wagon and a little more Saab convertible.
