AquaTerra Grille Ratings and Reviews
Sadly everything about this restaurant has declined.
While festively decorated for the holiday season, there is a musty odor throughout the restaurant. Service was virtually nonexistent which is puzzling since the restaurant was fairly empty. Food was mediocre... but hard to enjoy considering poor service and musty odor. Restaurant is in need of a complete makeover and new management that understands and acknowledges customer satisfaction is critical. Sadly everything about this restaurant has declined.
The place was awesome - and crowded! It was a great brunch except for the 30 college kids sitting next to us made it difficult to have a conversation and felt like a frat house. Looking forward to going again and hopefully a little more peaceful environment :-)
This was our first time at AquaTerra and we made reservations for 2. We were seated fairly quickly however, it took a significant amount of time for us to get served or for anyone to acknowledge our presence.
While everyone received bread and drinks we sat there hoping someone would wait on us. Finally, our waiter came by to ask us our order and made us order everything at once which I️ found a bit strange but at point I️ was happy to be served.
The bread came out minutes before our appetizers and of course we had to server for butter because they forgot that as well.
The food itself was mediocre. The chicken stuffed with Gorgonzola had the texture and taste of egg fu yung. The sauce tasted as if it was from a can and the steamed asparagus had no flavor. My friend received the salmon which was “ok” but lacked flavor and again her steamed was simply just steamed with no flavor.
We were never asked if we wanted the wine pairing altogether I️ found the pairings to be a bit odd. In all, as my first I️ was not impressed with neither the food or the service. The food pairings didn’t quite go together and and the sides lacked flavor.
My husband and I came with friends who had never been to the restaurant before to celebrate our anniversaries. We were seated in a little alcove that was very cozy allowing us to hear each other. The food was absolutely delicious. Our friends couldn't stop complimenting the salads that came with our meals. Very generous and tasty along with the main courses. My husband and I each got the trout dish. Love, love, love.
We have been several times, and will continue as we've never had a bad meal. Our waiter, Peterson, was also very attentive to our needs.
Had a great dinner. Eric our waiter was great. He was also doubling as bartender and made a great martini. There were four of us and we all agreed our dinners were delicious. Salads were good with homemade balsamic dressing. We had, chicken and penne in vodka sauce, beef and vegetable stir fry, chicken parm and filet. I would recommend all four! We were in the lower Hudson Valley for a long weekend but if we are back in the area, we will definitely make this one of our dinner spots!
Enjoyed celebrating my birthday here. It was our first visit to this restaurant, and we were very pleased with the meal. Portions are almost too large. We did take home leftovers. Coconut shrimp was my appetizer. Very tasty. Then seafood over linguini. Was surprised by how much fish was here. Clams, shrimp, mussels, and scallops.
Desserts are also huge.
Wife and I checked out Aqua Terra Grill for first time. Great atmosphere and food for the most part. My wife had Red Snapper filet and I had a New York strip. the New York strip was excellent but unfortunately my wife's filet was loaded with bones making her meal unenjoyable. We told the waiter about the bones but no attempt was made to rectify the situation. Everything else we ordered was good and the waiter was great making the restaurant worth trying again but not in the near future.
First time here, for a night out with the family. Very nice setting, welcoming. I had a special, a pork Osso bucco and it was amazing, should be a permanent part of the menu! We enjoyed the appetizers and liked that salads came with the meal. Nicely presented. I plan to return and try more of their menu.
I ordered the paella- the dish was flavorful. Rice was cooked through-soft and perfect taste.
My aunt ordered the braised lamb- was the best dish at our table. The meat was tender and it came with orzo covered in the same sauce used for the lamb.
I've had the crab cake burgerat lunch and it was delicious.
I was initially thrilled to see a full parking lot on a Wednesday evening, assuming it spoke highly about the experience we were about to have. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Apparently there was a happy hour crowd drawn in by the "Wine Wed." guise. Our server was nervous and perhaps on the newer side. He didn't know the specials very well and seemed to be guessing, so I encouraged him to just read them from his book. We eventually ordered off the regular menu: the Thai Coconut Shrimp app, the burger, mid-rare, and the flat iron steak, mid-rare. The shrimp came out (eventually) and was delicious, but a bit overpriced for just three. Then salads came unexpectedly. I thought back and did remember seeing a small notation on the bottom of the menu that salads were served with each entree. If we had been reminded during ordering, my date would have passed since he doesn't eat salad. Both the burger and steak finally came out mid-well to well done. Although they were both overcooked, we didn't want to wait to have them remade since the service was already running on the slow side and it honestly still tasted decent. The portion size was off as well; the burger was huge, yet my steak was very small but came with a huge mountain of fries. I don't mind small portions, but I believe it should be consistent throughout the plate. Meanwhile, I could here other diners complaining and wait times and a filet at the table next to us was sent back overcooked. The server said they were understaffed and had a large party (I saw maybe 20+) in the back which was throwing off the rest of service in the dining room. Against my better judgment we stayed for dessert. The only appealing dessert that caught our eye was the chocolate lava cake, which was fair at best. Overall, I was disappointed in our dining experience and will not return.
Overall everything was very good but just a bit shy of excellent. The only reason? Two dishes were described on the menu as coming with risotto, but instead were served with white rice. Not the end of the world but enough to warrant comments from both recipients.
