The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Our waitress and the new Maitre de Jeffrey De Boissiere, made our anniversary celebration very special....
I was a little dissapoonted with the food options. This will be my 4th year and it seems like the food gets less and less and this year there was so much seafood. I’m more interested in breakfast foods. In the past there was a lot more fruit, French bread, butter, French toast. I love the omlet station, and they did have pancake. There was also bacon thank goodness but I really wish there was more breakfast type foods. It why I come.
Sunday made the 12th year in a row we have done a special Christmas Sunday brunch. This year topped all for the quality and type of food., Great job
Fun, holiday spirit throughout.
The food was great. Our server was awesome, and very attentive to our needs. Overall, a great experience!
We had a dinner and hotel reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary only to discover that the dinner menu we saw on their Web site had been replaced with a pizza buffet. There was no mention of this on their Web page or when we made the reservation. The buffet salad included only lettuce, carrots and soggy croutons - nothing else! The salmon had an unpleasant odor and was inedible. The remaining food lacked flavor and creativity. We were seated by the hostess who also brought our wine; however, we NEVER saw a server. At the conclusion of our meal, we had to go to the hostess desk to ask for another glass of wine and to complain about the service at which time we were told that she neglected to assign us a server. We had 3 small glasses of house wine at $14 each - outrageous! Our total bill? $134!!! More outrageous!!! Golden Coral has much better food and is certainly a lot cheaper.
We were at the Westin for the boat parade of lights. We decided to eat at AquaStar. We did not know that it was only a buffet that night, wish we would have been told prior. The food, service and price were all fine but would rather have a choice than a buffet. Nicer and better places to dine in Savannah.
Went here for Thanksgiving. First - they had a limited menu for Thanksgiving, which was $55 per person. We have a 3 yo and they wanted to charge us $27 for him. Really?
-No where on the website did it state it was a limited menu, otherwise we wouldn’t have eaten there.
-Service was incredibly slow. Our appetizers sat under the warming lamp for quite sometime before she brought them out. She would disappear for long periods of time and never check on us. We had to eat around dirty dishes because they were not removed when a new course was served. We had empty water glasses from half way through our meal, never to be filled before leaving.
-Food was okay, at best. I ordered short ribs and they gave me a pile of stew meat. Brussel sprouts were terrific. That’s about it.
- I would never eat here again, nor would I recommend it.
Positive note - the hostess was very kind.
Thanksgiving fixed price menu, not a fair evaluation of the entire menu. However, the food was excellent, as was the service. The view of Savannah and it’s harbor was wonderful.
This place was perfect for us on Thanksgiving. The meal was very delicious with the right thanksgiving amount. :) ...Worth the money.
Not worth the money honestly, beets were awful so hot due to marinade they tasted awful - not worth $400. Server was very nice but understaffed based on guest
Lovely view of river and Savannah waterfront. Service is okay but very slow, especially since we were there for a fixed menu (Thanksgiving). Bit of a surprise that the interesting menu wasn't available. Still, the turkey was very good, a large plate, and interesting but pasty apple stuffing was a nice idea, more work needed. The special "salad" was a beet salad that was way too spicy for most diners, though I liked it quite a lot. The beer selection was poor and mixed drinks very light. Both dessert choices were pumpkin and mediocre.
My wife and I were there for Thanksgiving and had a reservation for 2:45 PM. We arrived right on time, and the hostess tried to seat us about 75 yards away in an "overflow" room, no-where near the self serve buffet, walled apart from the very nice searing area. The overflow room was crowded with very large tables, many families and children; could not hear the live music. It was a bad mistake to try to seat a couple in that room. I protested, and less than 5 minutes later we were seated in an appropriate area in the main restaurant. That is what they should have done to begin with. My wife and I are frequent travelers and stay mainly in very nice hotels. Your rest. reception people need to think before they do. We live in Savannah and visit the Westin for a variety of events and social occasions. I might think twice before booking a reservation at this restaurant. The food and service was great, but the lead-up to being seated was exceedingly disappointing.
We were there for the Thanksgiving day jazz brunch. It was a terrific selection of treats with a noteworthy attention to detail.
Had a great time for Thanksgiving Lunch. Staff was awesome....
Very disappointed with the quality of the food, everything has gone downhill. Too bad .
Disappointed. Not the atmosphere we were expecting. Service was OK, but not overly attentive and they were not busy. In fact, we were one of 3-4 tables of customers. The wine pours were not only very short, the red wine was served in a small white wine glass. We were told that was all they had. For the price of the wine, that is an unacceptable answer and the sign of a mediocre restaurant.
This was the worst meal of our entire trip and maybe ever. Food had no taste, worst crab cakes ever. Salmon was fishy, rice served with was mushy. Lobster Farfelle was bowtie pasta, stewed tomatoes and chewy lobster. The service was horrendous and was no adult overlooking restaurant. Very slow, never came to see how meal was and took over 1 1/2 hrs to get entire meal. Way over priced for everything on tiny menu as quality was very poor. None of the pictures looked like any of the food I saw come from the kitchen. Would have asked for refund but had to ask for bill as was going to be late to excursion. Whatever you do, eat in Savannah and run as fast you can from this place.
Very bad experience. The service was horrible. We ordered appetizers which after a 45 minute wait was told they were out of them. After another half an hour our meal arrived - steaks were well done but ordered med rare - chicken was very greasy. The manager did come out and comped the two steaks that they remade - terrible. And, I finally got my tea which I ordered almost 2 hours prior. Manager never came back to check on us or inform the server that the meal was comped.
The staff was so nice, professional and accommodating.
All 6 of us truly enjoyed it, and we plan to return again. Great Hospitality!! Delicious Food. A great variety of food!1
Restaurant did not have notation of our birthday celebration even though it was included in the open table reservation and a voicemail message left for the restaurant management - disappointing!
Many of typical brunch items missing: pancakes, waffles, bagels ( smoked salmon and accompaniments were offered).
Charles was a great host and Trudi was the best, we felt welcome. Jazz band was awesome too!
My husband and I have lived in Savannah since 1999 and this was our first visit to Aqua Star and it was absolutely FABULOUS!! We enjoyed every minute from the ambiance to the service to the view to the food.......ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! We will be back OFTEN!
We come here for the wonderful Sunday Brunch and have never been disappointed.
Good food, poor service. Wait staff did not clear tables, very slow and did not fulfill drink orders
This restaurant in the Westin Savannah golf resort was a nice surprise. We started with the she crab soup which arrived at the table luke warm instead of hot. It was promptly removed and reheated and was absolutely delicious. We then had the southern chop salad which was so good we ordered it the next night from room service with a great cheeseburger. But this night we decided on their two signature dishs which were the lobster farfalla and seafood pot pie, you can’t go wrong with either choice as they were both fantastic and full of seafood.
The only thing missing is Some experience at the hostess desk and wait staff.
I would definitely go back for the food.
One note to the restaurant I noticed on their continental buffet in the morning that the berries on the buffet were not washed and emptied out of their containers directly into service bowls.
All of the food was of high quality but lacked variety for a Sunday Champagne Brunch. There was no salad bar or vegetables other than roasted potatoes.
Service was lacking. Needed to ask for water and coffee to be refilled. They were stingie on the bottomless Mimosas.
Never been to a seafood restaurant that had more regular food than seafood. The crab soup was bad and service was poor too.
I went here for the seafood and jazz festival brunch and was blown away! If you ever have an opportunity to attend, I highly recommend it. The place was beautiful. The staff was super friendly. The food was incredible. Definitely a Savannah favorite!
Terrible seating with reservation. In a overflow room away from the jazz! There was a guy occasionally playing music in room! Food was not refreshed on some stations! I got food walked all the way back to table in overflow room and it was cold. The staff/group running brunch was RUDE! I regret the cost as it was not the treat I anticipated.
Jazz Brunch 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿
we attended brunch during the gourmet seafood & spirits festival. everything was delicious and the mimosas were strong, but still able to taste the oj. I will be back next year for the festival and possibly before then.
The food was great as always, dined there as part of the Aquacurean Seafood and Spirits event. The initial service was less than perfect. After we were seated and left the table for the buffet a server came and moved our items to seat someone else, our table was double booked. The gentleman server never acknowledged his mistake, didn’t offer us any water, etc, acted as though we weren’t there. The second server was wonderful and the meal was the highlight of the weekend
Enjoyed Jazz brunch as a part of the Gourmet Seafood Festival package. Service was not a attentive as it has been in previous visits. Jazz Trio was ok, but again they've had better in the past. Food wise, however, it was excellent. Plenty of choices, although I miss the shrimp and grits they used to serve. It was so much better than current! We'd do it again, tho.
Great time. Good food. Rather costy. I had to write 50 characters.
While the FOOD IS OUTSTANDING (and we have experienced both dinner and Sunday brunch several times), on this occasion the RESERVATION PROCESS WAS VERY UNSATISFACTORY. We had made our OpenTable reservation well in advance and confirmed it for 10 people. We arrived 5 minutes early, alerting the hostess of our arrival and that our 10-person party was now 9.
Several things negatively impacted an otherwise wonderful experience. First, we had to wait in the hallway for 20 minutes before our table would be ready. To the staff's credit, they offered to bring our drinks to us in the hallway. However, this was very slow and awkward as a server brought a drink in each hand (rather than simply using a tray or getting another staff person to quickly assist). Since I arranged the brunch, I was already uncomfortable about the two delays (the table & the drinks) and some of my guests questioned if I had made a reservation. Then, apparently since we had now had 9 in our party, the hostess decided to squeeze us into a table for 8 located in the far corner of the dining room. Our guests were really cramped sitting 5 on a side meant for 4.
A bright spot in our day was the server assigned to our table, Trudy, who brought beverages efficiently, interacted pleasantly, and worked hard to see that guests were happy. Because of her 5-STAR service, the 1-STAR service we received from the hostess area (table delay, drinks delay, & wrong size table), our overall service rating is 3-STAR. We mention this so that management can address for the staff to avoid in the future. We also fully recommend Aqua Star and it still remains one of our favorite destinations.
We were there for the Sunday brunch which in the past has been excellent. This time however, there were fewer selections, the quality of the selections available was not up to par (recipes were not up to past standards). Service from Hostess (not at stand on our arrival and eventually strolled up as we waited) to waitress (who had plenty of excuses for slow service) was lacking. The value of the brunch in the past made the high price worth it. This experience was very disappointing.
My family & I really enjoyed the overall experience from the waiters to the band. We will definitely be returning & a big thanks to the staff.
4th of July dinner leading fireworks
It took one hour to get a drink. The manager did her best to resolve the issue but it seems this restaurant simply isn't what it use to be.
