Aqua Star at The Westin Savannah Golf Resort & Spa
Outstanding views: by day the waterfront gleams with historic beauty; by night, the lights of downtown twinkle with opportunity.
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Brunch on Sundays.
Service was horrible. Place was not busy at all, only a few tables with a server per table. Our waitress never checked on us. Sent back our appetizer twice because she let it sit so long it was cold.
Thank you g uys for making our Valentine's Day speical. Everything was on point and the meals were timed perfectly.
Impressive food and great live music.
The service was clockwork
It was fine.
My wife and I had dinner at the Aqua Star. She had shrimp and grits and she described them as wonderful. We each had an appetizer and we had the same response (wonderful). We had She-crab soup and spinach artichoke). My wife topped off her dinner with dark chocolate mouse with raspberries and I had ice cream.
Our server was excellent.
I made reservations but the reception manager was not checking asking anyone, instead was taking people in line as they queues up.
So we had to push our way to the front and explain we had reservations. While we were seated promptly, the food service was penalizing slow. We were served after the entire lunch crowd had eaten and the restaurant was empty
What a TERRIBLE way to treat customers who made the extra effort to make reservations versus everyone else who just shows up unplanned
Unique menu with a great selection to please all.Delicious food. Excellent attentive service. Great atmosphere.
We had a wonderful time at Aqua Star. This trip was for Restaurant Week and we were amazed at both the quality and the amount of each course. Fabulous food. Our wait staff was wonderful...and the ambiance was lovely. One could actually have a conversation without shouting or missing out on what other people said. We will definitely be back. Have a plan already.
We had a $35 voucher from trip advisor instead of paying $49 but the food was so good we would have gladly paid the $49 instead. Service was excellent and the 3 piece jazz trio was wonderful. Will return once a month!!
The atmosphere, service and food was outstanding! I will return soon!
Good choice for Restaurant Week.
The fried green tomatoes topped with a crab cake was Devine!
Beautiful room, wonderful view, great music (sax and piano). Really appreciated the staff for helping my mama feel special on her birthday. Pricier than I would normally do but we really had the best time!
I have a wonderful experience each and every time I go.
When we arrived at the restaurant it was “closed due to low occupancy” at the Westin - where we were actually staying while in Savannah. Pathetic.
Went there for NYE and although the food was excellent and outstanding the service was terrible. Had a reservation for 9 pm, got seated by 9.30 pm, the first glass of water came at 10.00pm and the first fish at 10.45 pm. Got the last dish at 11.30 which is really close to the midnight mark.
Food was excellent but service terrible. The staff was corteus and helpful and were sorry the food arrived so late. Terrible planing for NYE
We went on NYE. They ran out of food, and after two hours we still didn’t get the entree. Overall terrible experience. Luckily the manager comped the meal. We will not be back
A simple disaster for this New Year'eve.
The food was great but the service was way too slow. I really felt sorry for our waitress. She was overbooked. Completely unaccountable for a New Years Eve experience.
We visited Aqua Star on NYE, which was also our one year wedding anniversary. We made our reservation for 6:15 and had planned at attend the Gatsby themed new year's party afterwards. When we arrived there were just a few other patrons, definitely far from a crowd.
We were seated, someone came to fill our water goblets and deliver the bread almost instantly. We sat for 30 minutes watching servers pass, and other guests be seated and served. But our server had yet to arrive. We finally flagged down the hostess and asked for our server who arrived several minutes later and stated he didn't realize we were his table. No apologies offered.
We ordered the 5 course special for the evening. Our server made sure to leave a menu at the table so that he could read each course back to us before serving. It started to seem like it may have been his first day, which I can forgive. We've all had "off" days. But as the evening progressed we started to hear him offering the same excuses to other nearby tables. "No one told me you were my table", "they delivered your order to the wrong table" etc. Then we realized he'd stopped coming to our table entirely.
We got all the way through the fourth course and sat for another 30 minutes with empty plates, and empty glasses as he attended to all of the tables around us. He must have forgotten we were still his table. Finally he arrived to clear the fourth course and we just asked for the check.
Our reservation was at 6:15, we skipped the final course and still didn't leave until almost 9:30.
The food we did have was absolutely delicious and the rest of the staff seemed friendly and attentive. I'll file this experience as a mishap and give Aquastar a second chance, but this was definitely not what I expected from a restaurant of this caliber and especially not on my first wedding anniversary. To say we were disappointed is an understatement.
Excellent fine dining and service. Amazing amount of food
Location, food and service excellent. We would highly recommend the Sunday Brunch. Music was appropriate.
Food was tasty and attractive. For $50 per person, I should not have to ask the server for tea refills or to take sweetener and straw wrappers, etc. She offered a mimosa once. We said, "Tea for now." She should have offered again since it came with the meal. The ambiance could have been better: wall lamps over the table were crooked, still had manufacturer's labels on the hardware, and did not completely cover a gaping hole in the wall. Music was fantastic. I used to come regularly 20 years ago. There is no comparison with the former sumptuous, artful display of food. Now it is adequate but not impressive.
Great food, bad service. Dirty plates and glasses on the table or ages. Drinks took forever. After paying, never saw the waiter again.
As always, one of the best restaurants in Savannah. Without a doubt, the best view in Savannah. Great food, great service, great place.
Quality of food and specific dishes available did not justify a price of $75 per person.
Our expectations were not met.
We went to the Westin for Christmas Eve dinner after church and it was very disappointing. We had been 3 years previously and it was very festive and delicious with live music. This time it was very quiet. It took a very long time for our server to even come over to our table. We were not provided a drink menu until we requested one. The pre fixe dinner starters were decent, but my swordfish entree was raw in the middle and half the clams on my plate were not open. The children’s chicken pasta was spicy. It was a very long wait for our entrees to come. The bathrooms by the restaurant were under renovation so the ones available were downstairs by the exit. Multiple stalls had no toilet paper, there was debris all over the floor, there were no paper towels and no changing table. Overall we will not be back especially for special occasions. Disappointing since it was previously very good and has a lovely waterfront view.
We had an incredible experience at the Westin on Christmas Eve. It could not have been nicer. My guest raved about the Beef Wellington and a gin and tonic made with Beefeater's gin. The scenery of the activity on the Savannah River was exciting. It definitely made a meal to remember.
Set reservation for Christmas Eve thinking we would enjoy the Southern Style Breakfast/Brunch Buffett; unfortunately no buffet. A notification from Aqua Statwould have been nice.
Great brunch buffet with everything to offer! Amazing view. Got us right in and seated. The service was spectacular and they always knew when you needed something. Everyone was very friendly and different people always asked if we needed anything. The manager even came over to welcome us and to make sure everything was what we wanted.
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Our waitress and the new Maitre de Jeffrey De Boissiere, made our anniversary celebration very special....
I was a little dissapoonted with the food options. This will be my 4th year and it seems like the food gets less and less and this year there was so much seafood. I’m more interested in breakfast foods. In the past there was a lot more fruit, French bread, butter, French toast. I love the omlet station, and they did have pancake. There was also bacon thank goodness but I really wish there was more breakfast type foods. It why I come.
Sunday made the 12th year in a row we have done a special Christmas Sunday brunch. This year topped all for the quality and type of food., Great job
Fun, holiday spirit throughout.
The food was great. Our server was awesome, and very attentive to our needs. Overall, a great experience!
We had a dinner and hotel reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary only to discover that the dinner menu we saw on their Web site had been replaced with a pizza buffet. There was no mention of this on their Web page or when we made the reservation. The buffet salad included only lettuce, carrots and soggy croutons - nothing else! The salmon had an unpleasant odor and was inedible. The remaining food lacked flavor and creativity. We were seated by the hostess who also brought our wine; however, we NEVER saw a server. At the conclusion of our meal, we had to go to the hostess desk to ask for another glass of wine and to complain about the service at which time we were told that she neglected to assign us a server. We had 3 small glasses of house wine at $14 each - outrageous! Our total bill? $134!!! More outrageous!!! Golden Coral has much better food and is certainly a lot cheaper.
We were at the Westin for the boat parade of lights. We decided to eat at AquaStar. We did not know that it was only a buffet that night, wish we would have been told prior. The food, service and price were all fine but would rather have a choice than a buffet. Nicer and better places to dine in Savannah.
Went here for Thanksgiving. First - they had a limited menu for Thanksgiving, which was $55 per person. We have a 3 yo and they wanted to charge us $27 for him. Really?
-No where on the website did it state it was a limited menu, otherwise we wouldn’t have eaten there.
-Service was incredibly slow. Our appetizers sat under the warming lamp for quite sometime before she brought them out. She would disappear for long periods of time and never check on us. We had to eat around dirty dishes because they were not removed when a new course was served. We had empty water glasses from half way through our meal, never to be filled before leaving.
-Food was okay, at best. I ordered short ribs and they gave me a pile of stew meat. Brussel sprouts were terrific. That’s about it.
- I would never eat here again, nor would I recommend it.
Positive note - the hostess was very kind.
Thanksgiving fixed price menu, not a fair evaluation of the entire menu. However, the food was excellent, as was the service. The view of Savannah and it’s harbor was wonderful.
This place was perfect for us on Thanksgiving. The meal was very delicious with the right thanksgiving amount. :) ...Worth the money.
