Service was great, a bit too noisy for a retraunt, food medium. Not a first time visiting, but expected a bit more.
Booked as a pre-Christmas treat for dinner with my sister, we had a great table by the window. I've only been to Acqua during the day, and at night it is very atmospheric - great panoramic views of london by night, stylish bar and restaurant with a real buzz and certainly felt like a special night out.
The service was attentive and professional - the staff appeared very well trained. We only had a main course each, partly to avoid over indulging and partly because it's very expensive. All mains are around £40 or more, and many bottles of wine are hundreds of pounds if not thousands. The menu doesn't give much choice - but the sea bass on risotto with a lobster bisque jus that I had was absolutely delicious.
For one glass of champagne and one glass of wine each, and a peppermint tea after the main course we ended up with a bill of £170 - so you're probably paying a third more than a similar class of restaurant in the area for the view. But for an occasional treat and to feel like a special occasion it was worth it.
Took friends for the views and we had a great time, the views are stunning and the meal was superb it's high class dinning with the views thrown in as an added extra. The price is high but your renting probably the best views in London, it seems that you are looking down on the london eye!
This was our second visit to the aqua shard restaurant. As we had really enjoyed our first visit we wanted to return as a group with family. We had a nice visit but did find that all aspects were not as good as when we had first visited. From service to food.
Had a great welcome and great service from waiter then our order was taken by an unfriendly rude waitress and ruined our vibe
Food was decent but not the best for the price level. Wine recommendation was great. Drinks are overpriced. Ambience is Amazing at certain areas. Regardless my partner was incredibly impressed and happy - if she is happy then it's worth it!
We arrived and were immediately turned away even though we had the booking, they said it was because we booked it via the app open table and said to book via the shard website directly next time. Management gave us a little while to take in the view and have a glass of champagne but it’s not quite the dinner I promised my girlfriend for her birthday :(
Sehr gutes Essen, toller Blick, tolle Weine und schöne Atmosphäre. Es ist etwas preiswert aber definitiv einen Besuch wert.
My cousin and I much enjoyed the tasty Christmas set lunch menu and the wonderful views of London. And, we appreciated that the slight delay in taking our order was taken on board by the restaurant staff took who provided us with an after lunch complementary glass of bubbly. Thank you, we will definitely be back again.
We enjoyed the setting however felt let down by the fact the food seemed over priced and very small portions, we asked could the team recommend a wine which they did to come back and tell us that they didn't have it in stock, then then tried to upsell us from a £65 to a £90 which was completely different.
Once we finished our food we were quickly given the bill which wasnt appreciated seeing that the bill was £350
Overall the setting perfect but felt let down by the menu and lack of professional service.
Great location, views and menu. Service excellent, friendly but professional. Noise levels are very high when busy which can make conversation difficult but otherwise excellent!!
Went for lunch with friends was just lovely. Good was very good and hot. Staff were attentive and not overpowering. The mini mince pie with the coffee was a fabulous touch thank you x
Service was just average. Food was good, ordered the meat for 2.. cannot complain about it, it was really good
Overpriced with mediocre service. But I suppose there is a price to pay for the view.
The experience was nice I thought the offer that was there was all I had to pay of £65 not to pay £130
Excellent breakfast shame about the streaky American style bacon
Amazing place and very kind staff, food really good!
Service very poor mainly due to restaurant being totally understaffed. Food average at best. Especially considering the price.
The whole experience was wonderful except for the cloakroom! I had to go and find my own coat after being given 2 coats/jackets that weren’t mine.
Booked for our 4 years old special birthday lunch.
Terrible experience, 10 mins to get up to restaurant, security confusing lifts etc. Arrived had to take another left down one floor and drop coats behind the bar area. Then we’re told that our table had been released even though we called to say we might be a bit late and then arrived before the 20 min waiting time was up. Unfriendly reception manager with a ‘computer says no attitude’ told us to wait for next table. No one followed up . After 45 min wait we left. Staff looked unhappy other customers were complaining. A view doesn’t make a restaurant! Won’t be back.
Top class bar and restaurant in the heart of one of the world's most amazing cities. Whether you are a local or just visiting, the Aquashard is a must. Mouth watering dishes and tempting cocktails, along with first class service from one of the best hospitality teams to be found, and an absolutely amazing view of London, will leave you wanting for nothing.
Could not fault the service nor the quality of the food. The only disappointment was the small choice of desserts. There was nothing available a la carte.
Overall this place is quite nice, the view is very impressive with a great view of London... and the table layout is also quite nice (food seating on one side, bar seating on the other).
But unfortunately the food is very average and the service okay. The best selling point about this place is the view.
Gorgeous setting with outstanding views of London and great food. Had the taster menu which was really good. The cocktails were well made.
Good food and accommodated the table we wanted. Food was good but water was charged, VAT not included in brunch price so ended up being £60 each not £44
The thing everyone comes here for, which is the view, was excellent with panoramic views of the city. However, the service was among the worst we've experienced the wait staff was inattentive. It took 1 hour and 20 minutes just to place our order! The delivery of the food was slow, and the food itself was unimpressive for the price. Even at half the price. The portions were very small. I felt like eating dinner again as soon as we left. I've never spent 179 pounds before, just to leave hungry and disappointed. If you want to enjoy the view, skip the meal and get a table for drinks instead. Speaking of which, the tables that are next to the windows are not for the restaurant, but for drinks only.
Visited this place on Sunday, as i had good occasion to celebrate my family’s event. Great view is only the good thing about this place. Service at average level , at some point event unacceptable, the Sunday’s branch meniu tested as any other kooked meal in average diner, plus 12.5% service charge will be added to the final bill. Do not take sirloin stake from the meniu as you will be disappointed from the first sight, I am not mentioning the test...
Vine is quiet expensive and the price doesn’t equal the test again.
Have to admit that sommelier was knowledgable guy and very friendly.
Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place for a dining..
Food was overpriced and steak £42 was cold when served, when returned over cooked as I asked for medium rare, the initial vegetables was not changed when they took the first steak back so again cold by the time the second steak was returned.Waiter poured a bottle of water over me at the beginning by accident.
Paying for the view and ambience but certainly not the food.
The wine was great. Food portions exceptionally small. Amazing view.
Was my 30th birthday and Requested window view at time of booking. Didn’t get it. Only me and my girlfriend so disappointed they couldn’t accommodate on a very important day.
Great vibe, ambiance and view. Portions were small but the food was good.
This is a stunning experience.
The diner was of excellent quality.
Food is correctly priced for this venue.
Wine list & drinks are overpriced.
We were at Aqua for a special occasion - my parents were visiting from abroad, and it was their last day in the city. Our waitress was extremely rude, and rushed us to order multiple times, even though we explained we were not ready yet. He repeated multiple times we only had two hours at the table. Under pressure, we ordered our food. The appetizers arrived, and were good. Then, the main courses took 50 minutes to arrive - 50 minutes when of course, our waiter ignored us when enquired about the order. When the food finally arrived, it was incorrect - the steaks were not respecting the requested cooking point. The food was so mediocre, and the service was so bad, that we left without having the desert - which was included. I do recommend the view, but avoid the food and the people.
Very fancy restaurant, we mainly came for the view, of course they will not be able to sit everyone by the window so we were first offered seat somewhere in the end of the restaurant, I asked if I can be seated closer to the window so I waited about 15min for a better table, the place does get busy, we came here for brunch so they had prefix option which was very good and food was great, the restaurant is on the pricey side thats the only downside. Deferentially good place for special occasion.
I had a great lunch here, the food was simply exquisite, the service was first class, great seating, and the views were awesome!
Aqua has always been a favourite restaurant of mine, and they never disappoint.
Perfect for any special occasion, or even if you just enjoy fine dining.
Highly recommend Aqua, and will definitely be back there soon!
We were given a great table & Daniel (Italian ) our waiter was really excellent. He looked after us really well.
Went there for breakfast, the prices are extortionate, I would recommend Wolsey instead, much better food and service
We were given a table by the window which was amazing. The first course came quickly but the second was very slow coming so they gave us a complimentary glass of fizz which which was very nice of them. The staff were all extremely pleasant and professional.
All was good and top notch. Spectacular view if London no matter where you are seated.
