Main Course was very overpriced.
We were seated at an amazing table but unfortunately there was a hole in the floor and I was constantly afraid a leg of my chair would fall into it. Additionally my friend and I ordered halibut and cod one of each, so that we could try both of them. Unfortunately the food was barely warm when we received it and by the time we switched plates the fish was absolutely cold. I shared all of this with the gentleman who wanted us to buy desserts and more drinks and without asking us if we’d like another alcoholic drink he brought us champagne, which unfortunately I cannot drink. As we were paying the check, I discovered that this well dressed gentleman in a suit, who was willing to take almost $200 for lunch, had horrifically bad breath. I shared all of this with a gentleman who I believe was the manager of the restaurant. The view is gorgeous but the meal was absolutely not worth $200.
Me encanto la vista la atención la cena muy rica el trago sin alcohol no estaba rico
Booked this as a birthday treat, I was hoping to have Afternoon Tea however, it was our first experience and I didn't realise you had to specify this on the online booking. When we arrived we were told that we would be seated in the main restaurant and when we requested afternoon tea, we were abruptly told there was no flexibility in accommodating our request. We felt that our request fell on deaf ears and they weren't prepared to go that extra mile to accommodate us. We were briskly shown to our table. The waitress was very pleasant, however everything was very rushed. Having eaten our first and main course which was lovely, we were pressurised into ordering our desserts, even though we asked if we wait a time for our main meal to digest. We were informed that the chef was finishing up and it was only around 4pm. We felt rushed into having our dessert then followed by the presentation of a bill saying we had to settle the bill and if we needed further refreshments to go to the bar. Having had this experience which should have been a pleasant afternoon, we felt it was more like a conveyer belt process instead of the ultimate dinning experience. I hope you will take this into consideration for future customers and there should always be room for some flexibility.
We were not given a nice table although I specified that it was a graduation celebration
We booked Aqua Shard as a last minute dinner reservation whilst we were already visiting the city. The food was great, extensive wine menu and overall you’re definitely paying for quality not quantity. Bar service was a bit tardy but the table staff were very attentive and prompt. Great views, we were offered the choice to move to a window seat when one became available too.
What was really disappointing to see in both the bar/dining areas was the total non compliance of the stipulated dress code as promulgated on their website. As we were a last minute booking, we didn’t have the appropriate footwear with us and therefore bought compliant footwear whilst in London in order to avoid embarrassment for all concerned. Sadly we needn’t have bothered as we were surrounded by men and women in ripped jeans, trainers and sports flip flops.......no point promulgating a dress code if nobody has the ability or courage to enforce it..... making our evening quite unnecessarily expensive. I’ve emailed Aqua Shard separately to raise this issue.
service is good
view is super
An amazing view in a lovely restaurant! Complementary of each other!!
Sadly the food was poor. The seats were soft and too low for the tables. No salad for a table booked at 7pm. Staff sniffing the Ruinart we chose. £29.00 per glass. The price is ok, but gave us the impression it was corked or lacked fizz or something. Charged for a starter portion of asparagus as there was no other green vegetables apart from well aged cabbage. The deserts and the view and the cocktail after dinner were the best part. Staff were trained well, but the kitchen didn’t do the rest of the experience justice at all. My recommendation, go for sundowner cocktails and enjoy the amazing views and atmosphere !!
The service was annoying slow and disjoint. Drink orders took ages and even after noting that two guest were pressed for time no additional effort was made to expedite our order.
Great meal, service and view. Visiting from the US....Fabulous brunch!
Very, very loud. Not recommended for anything than a one-time visit. The food was good enough and the table service friendly. The "door keeper" made you feel like a wanna-be terrorist. The view is terrific, and the only reason to visit.
Fantastic weekend brunch at Aqua Shard. Lucked out with the weather on a particularly sunny day. Our waitress, Christina, was particularly attentive and offered to switch us to a table by the window once another couple of vacated it. Delicious food, lobster Benedict was the highlight for me.
Excellent ambiance, great food. Although quite busy, great service.
Great views and drinks, food is presented beautifully.
Fantastic wiew and A butifull sundawn
Good value meal. Set menu lunch, two courses for £28, which included a Bellini. Incredible views over Central London on the 31st Floor of The Shard. Ideal for special occasions, business meetings or brunch
Amazing views, great service and nice food. Set menu was good value and they didn’t rush us, which was very welcome.
Good ambience, outstanding service and delicious food.
Celebrated my second anniversary here, got a lovely table by the window and the hostess was lovely. The food was amazing and the only fault was I wanted a levee portion of the seabass. It took an hour in between our started and main buy to be honest we were so captivated by the view we didn’t realised till when the main arrived. Also a lovely touch they sent a dessert saying happy anniversary! Will defo be back soon
No food came out of the kitchen for one hour. They delivered champagne to the table to compensate us – but we don’t drink. When the food came it was average. This place lives off its view.
I booked online and was expecting two courses & a Bellini for £28 when we arrived we were told this was a weekday menu and I should not have been able to book this deal; however, the staff were fantastic and obeyed this booking with the menu available on the day and treated us with great care which made us feel very welcomed and comfortable! The food was exquisite, the drinks were delicious and we enjoyed every mouthful, we were here for a birthday lunch and I will most certainly be returning in the near future. Although there was some confusion with the booking the staff most certainly dealt with this situation incredibly well and rectified any mistake that was made. Beautiful views of London were able to be seen all round and the decor was stunning. We had a fabulous experience.
My mum’s birthday
Very enjoyable dinner although the prices seem to have become slightly more eye watering over the past 12 months (although the view almost justifies this)
Fabulous views over London. Best time is twilight. Great food and service. Only negative was that they serve 2 types of beer
Very disappointed-booked reservation in advance and was seated far away from the window area as we were told this was the only table for 2 available and window seats are not reserved, they are on a first come first served basis. Minutes after being seated a window table for 2 was open and we asked our waiter to change our seats since it was our anniversary celebration and he told us he couldn't. the Table sat empty for 10 minutes at least and then someone was seated. Several other tables for 3-4 people were also open for most of the time while we ate.
Food was good but very small portions and overpriced.
Cocktails nothing special
Great food , impeccable service. Very attentive but not over bearing. Rainer, Tiago and Eva were wonderful
Lovely view by the window, a must if you are in London!
All tables had wonderful view of the London skyline. Great value lunch menu with bellini. 3 choices of starter, main and desserts including a vegetarian option. Service was attentive and polite.
Very unfriendly reception on ground floor as well as at the restaurant reception the personnel is clearly not trained and thought to smile at customers
My name was not on the last st and had to discuss with the very unpleasant lady at reception
The reception ladies have clearly no clue on how the job should be done...
Their behavior is more the one expected from the bouncer of a third class night club
This place it's amazing, not only for the view but also for the service.
They are very kind and the service was perfect!
Definetly i'll coming back soon.
Thank you for the magical night
Vue panoramique magnifique. Très bonne dégustation
The restaurant had a nice vibe, good music and a lovely atmosphere for a Saturday night. Had booked our table for 8pm and were taken to a ‘waiting table’ for 15mins which is fine however it would have been nice to be offered a drink while we waited.
Once we were taken to our table our server was friendly and polite. After placing our drinks order when ordering the food we were not asked if we would like any more drinks throughout the whole of the three course meal even though our glasses were empty. The food was tasty and presently in a beautiful way.
We - a group of 10 - did not know in advance that we would have had 2 separate tables and that the group would have been splitted and this was an important drawback since we went there to spend our Easter together. Apart from that, the manager's (David) service was amazing and they created a whole table for the desserts. The main course was not superb, but the starters and the desserts were delicious.
Seems the overbooked and understaffed for Easter.
My daughter and I had a lovely time at the Aqua Shard. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate so the view wasn't so great but we had a lovely afternoon anyway. The staff was very friendly and nice to work with.
