Liana was really nice and helpful. Food came in big portion. Shame we were there at closing time so really quiet.
A lovely meal overall, have dined at a number of Japanese restaurants in town and it is pretty good.. Some dishes better than others. Decent vegetarian choices. Some dishes are a bit 'same-y' like the mushrooms and asparagus both have the same dressing and sesame on everything! But tasty though. Veggie sushi very good. Edamame green tea noodles surprising good! Chicken wings boneless really tasty. Lots of model like people dining at the tables, good for people watching! Dessert is OK, a bit off key flavour with Asian twist doesn't always work in our opinion but I'm sure people do enjoy it.
Had to wait nearly half an hour even though we had a confirmed booking. Sushi was very overpriced, similar can be had in Chinatown for a fraction of the cost.
The sushi we wanted wasn't available and the other dishes were nice but expensive for what they were. It took half an hour to get our wine order and feel compared to other tables we were not attended to as often. We love Roka and other restaurants yet, we disappointed with having to pay a similar price for a lesser service and food we didn't enjoy as much.
Great service and lovely food. Aqua never dissapoints
Ottimo sushi e sashimi, all’altezza delle aspettative.
A stunning restaurant with the right balance of chic, well presented, authentic Japanese cuisine in an elegant dining room where chefs could observed preparing sushi. The cocktails are also worth your time.
Great food but despite my request for a quiet table they seated us next to a large noisy group in the middle. When we asked for a different table we were told, all booked. However there were quiet tables empty and still empty when we left. Spoilt my friend’s birthday celebration
Really the perfect atmosphere for our special evening. Food was fantastic, the buta baraniku to unagi yaki (eel and pork belly) was gorgeous. Wine list is great as well!
Good restaurant with a fantastic view. Cocktails were brilliant as well.
Worst service ever
I have received better service in many cheap china town restaurants. I will never go back and food is overpriced and not that great
Have been a few times now - for brunch and also later in evening for dinner - always good food, good service - great value! One of my go-to's in London
Lovely food, good atmosphere, good price but poor service. The waitress we had was very good when she was available but it felt like she had too many people to serve.
Waited 30 mins for table
Food quality for the price-point is mediocre, another 10 restaurants that do Asian-Fusion better
Definitely lost it's touch over the years
I was waiting to be seated 45 minutes, food is good.
this is the second time we have been to Aqua Kyoto. the food is good as the service and atmosphere, but in reality the prices are more than they should be for the standard of the food. we have eaten better Japanese food at more reasonable prices on a number of occasions. we don't think the location or atmosphere, albeit good, are enough to justify the pricing.
Went for the set menu and was overwhelmingly disappointed. Food was presented attractively but just lack in taste, texture and consistency as described on the menu.
Very swanky restaurant with a wonderful sky garden. Staff are friendly, attentive and provide a great service. A huge plus for me is that they make a concerted effort to welcome people. The food is outstandingly fresh and tasty. Especially the beautiful miso soup and seared tuna. The spicy lamb chops with tomato miso was absolutely devine! Japanese cuisine are small portions, however very healthy and reflected in their prices. An excellent selection of Japanese beers. I particularly enjoyed the Kirin Ichiban. We had a lovely time and Aqua Kyoto is definitely highly recommended and worthy of another visit. Well done for a thoroughly enjoyable and fabulous dining experience!
Food was lovely - well presented and delicious. Only downside was while staff were friendly, the service was painfully slow. Almost 4 hours and we had to follow up drinks and food orders several times.
We chose the luxury £36 wagyu bento box and a selection of sushi. The beef was low grade and chewy. The 4 green pepper tempura is a joke! You would expect prawn tempura or at least a variety of vegetables. The sushi was tiny we ordered were tiny. The end was not fresh. Not value for money at all! I would recommend Engawa in soho.
The ambience and the service was good. Shane about the food.
Lovely selection of doifferent dishes. Shame they don’t do take away!
The food was good but it is overpricedfor what it was.
Aqua Kyoto is a slick commercial enterprise rather than a proper restaurant. On Friday night there were many items missing from the sashimi / sushi menu and, of course, there were no additional other choices because it is not the kind of place that has a sushi chef that can make that judgment.
The service was slow and things were served in an odd order. The food was fine, but not memorable.
The first time I visited I was underwhelmed, but I went back to confirm my judgment.
This is not a bad place. The food is of reasonable quality ; the environment is slick and commercial ; the noise level is fairly high ; the price is a bit much for what you get.
Exquisite food and extremely reasonable prices. The set menu over weekends with prosecco is perfect for a good catch up with friends! Highly recommended!
I booked this place for my husband's birthday as he wanted a Japanese restaurant. I decided on AquaKyoto as it was labelled on Opentable as having a great scenic view. However, when we arrived we were told that this was only the case for the Spanish side of the restaurant.
The food was really good and we enjoyed tasting the variety of dishes. It's quite a lively restaurant as the bar is just outside the restaurant area. The service was ok. We would have liked a bit more attention to match the price we were paying to eat there . Overall, the food was excellent but was a little disappointed with the restaurant atmosphere and lack of view that we were expecting.
It's a beautiful restaurant and the sushi was artistic. Fish quality was good but not great, especially for the price. The service was just OK, certainly not up to the standard of the restaurant. For example, one of the drinks we ordered was whisky without ice. Whisky with ice was brought to our table. When we notified the server, they took it away and returned with the very same drink with the ice fished out. That's a move you'd expect at a lower class pub but not at a top restaurant. They resolved it when we complained, but seriously. The fatty tuna was pricey but poorly cut. I'd recommend a different restaurant choice if you want to spend the $ and want a quality meal and experience.
Excellent food and service as always . Good is fresh and full of flavour
Fantastic view over Oxford Street, great rooftop bar, restaurant is great quality as well.
Easiest 5 stars that I can give to any place I've dined at. Food was simply outstanding, was amazed each time from the starters to desserts. Service was great, food arrived on time and our host(s) checked up on us when necessary. Ambience was quiet and chilled, no loud clanging's of cutlery or neighboring tables speaking loudly.
Found a bone in my sushi, wouldn't go back again but other than that it was nice.
great, typical london flair restaurant - classy and great for that "expensive feeling" . food is ok but not amazing. excellent business venue, great for showing friends who arent from the city a "typical london restaurant"
Atmospheric restaurant with excellent food. Rock shrimp tempura is a big hit in our family. Great cocktails. It is a bit pricey but worth it.
Slightly spoilt on this occasion by a group of young women celebrating a birthday who had clearly been "celebrating" a bit to long and we felt the manager should have had a quiet word. But certainly will not put us off returning.
Had a lovely sushi brunch with bottomless prosecco for a friend's birthday. Everything was delicious and served with enough time to enjoy at leisure, didn't feel rushed, service was very polite and they explained all the food we were being served.
Food lacked a wasabi style punch and wasn't mind blowing. Had better Japanese in other places. However the bar and roof top views are great, cocktail are lush.
Great food, good atmosphere. Shall be returning soon!
Delicious fresh fish. Lovely meal, albeit maybe a little small, so glad we ordered some edamame as well.
Great atmosphere and options. Bit more exxy for what you get, however standard when you choose a meal deal to end up ordering more
A very relaxing and enjoyable dining experience. Friendly and helpful staff and the food was delicious. My 8 year old daughter has a dairy allergy and our waitress took the utmost care to ensure everything was suitable.
A little on the expensive side but well worth it and we will definitely be back. Very soon according to my daughter!
This place has amazing fusion food, great sushi and super drinks!!! Awesome dumplings!! Beautiful views great for lunch brunch or dinner!!!
Always good food and service. Convenient parking.
