About AQ by Acqualina
“Please note the dining room in AQ by Acqualina is currently being enhanced and seating is available on the veranda only”
AQ by Acqualina offers Mediterranean cuisine rich with Italian influences. The menu by Il Mulino New York is the perfect balance of casual and chic that benefits the restaurant’s oceanfront resort setting, the soaring dining room – softly lit in the evening to welcome guests to drink, dine and linger. Comfortably ensconced on plush sofa seating in the dining room, at the welcoming bar, or on the breeze-kissed outdoor veranda, guests peruse AQ’s menu. Children’s (Bambini) menu will also be available.
A great dining experience should be more than just fabulous food, it should also be a wonderful shared journey.

AQ by Acqualina Ratings and Reviews
We had dined many times as AQ last year. The food and service is excellent. We were disappointed that outdoor dining is now limited to a few tables under a canopy, rather than in the open air space. Our only complaint is that valet parking charge is now &13 with restaurant validation, when previously it had been $8 with validation.
Less than average rating . My seafood tower came out warm (not cold ). The risotto was overly salty . The place should replace their name to something other than the highend chain that is associated with that brand. Nothing high-end about that place other than the prices . Never again.
Really disappointing meal. The only salvation was the great service and the tiramisu. All the food was lukewarm. There were about 8 tiny mussels, the salmon was a dry hunk with an unappealing crust, there was no wine available for under $75/bottle and this is a Casual restaurant. Oh, my son loved his burger but it doesn't merit suffering through the other food which was a complete disappointment. It was so unmemorable I can't remember it two days later.
After dining at Il Mulino's, we decided to give AQ a try. The food and service was impeccable. The view of the ocean was amazing. I had the Hamachi with Jalapenos and a salmon avocado hand-roll with Eel sauce. They were fresh and delicious. They also offer the same fresh home made tiramisu and fresh home made whip cream, but I opted for the vanilla ice cream which was really good. I would definitely come back next time I'm in town.
The lobster entree was salty and inedible largely because it was over salted. My date would
Not eat it. The broccoli I ordered was mostly brocollini and undercooked stalks. No compensation or replacement was offered. My fish was undercooked. Great service for bad food. Way overrated for a $300 dinner for two.
I dined at AQ in a party of 3. Two of us were happy with our entrees (steak, pasta) but my other friend sent back her salmon which tasted a bit burnt. The server offered her another entree which she accepted but then it took quite a long time to bring it, so we'd already finished. Overall, it was a good meal (and good wine), but they need to work on consistency.
First, I must commend AQ on the great improvement since I was here last year! The food and service have improved tremendously. They first brought out the same lovely bread choices as Il Mulino - what a treat! We began with Sushi and Edamame. We had the Cream Cheese and Salmon roll which was delicious. The Edamame was fine, although a little soft and under salted. My daughter had the Cheeseburger which was delicious and I had the Porcini Mushroom filled gnocchi served with Truffle Butter and Sage - the sauce was delicious and gave a lovely flavor to the gnocchi. As the restaurant became crowded, it seemed as though the servers from Il Mulino helped out so they were able to still provide excellent service. Our waiter even brought us a lovely Flan to share which was outstanding - still dreaming about it! Thank you Aqualina for the great improvement to AQ!
Food, service, and ambiance were excellent. There was a boisterous party outside, as well as a smoker who came after we were seated. The staff kindly moved us inside. A mixed drink served up too sweet was quickly replaced at no extra cost. Desserts were tasty as well. All very nice.
I do have an issue with some very sneaky special pricing. Looking over the menu, appetizers average around $15, and entrees around $20-25, $32 tops. I ordered a mozzarella/tomato app, and some fresh pasta with chorizo- both unlisted specials. No price information was provided, but who would think to ask regarding such pedestrian dishes? The bill came and was much higher than expected. I looked at the itemization. The cheese/tomato salad was $25, and the pasta special was $49! This looked like a scam to me. I suspect most diners at this hotel don't even look at the bill, but pricing incongruity like this represents gouging, and that is simply unacceptable. The manager kindly reduced the entree price to $25. I didn't push him on the app.
Our overall experience was good, but I would encourage anyone dining there to question pricing on specials. Value matters, and the management will probably keep running this scam as long as they can get away with it.
Beautiful place, interesting dishes
Service is ok-many inquiries if we needed anything but asked for lemon in water and never received, salad was described as having feta cheese but came without cheese.
Would go back but expected an impeccable service and did not really get that.
The location is nice and during the day the view would be beautiful. Three of us got the exact same dish: the steak and octopus for starter. The octopus was fine but we all three asked for the steak to be cooked medium. Two of us had the meat come bad rare. On the side of the steak was a muffin like thing that was supposed to be served at room temperature. Mine was cold as if it was in the refrigerator. Our waitress was nice and helpful to get everything taken care of. It was Friday night when we went around 9 pm and there were only three other tables filled. We were confused as to when people dine there.
We had a mixed table with à la carte dining and some trying the spice menu. The salmon was very good however the upgrade of filet mignon was pretty bad. We also had two people trying a la carte steaks and it was not good. The truffle fries were the hit of the night. We were not very impressed.
Beautiful place to treat yourself to a high end dinner. Very friendly and attentive staff will offer you a scarf if it is too cold for you to fully enjoy your dinner, waitress will listen to your preferences and recommend something you will truly enjoy.
Will definitely come back when we will visit Miami again.
P.S. Make a special request for outside sitting for dinner. The beachside tables provide a beautiful view at sunset.
Very disappointed in the quality of food. Some items were very expensive , the quality mediocre some items were skimpy for the price charged. The wine by the glass expensive for the brands offered. The service was good - the waitress pleasant. The restaurant was clean. I found the offerings very limited.
You pull up to a gorgeous hotel/residence where the valet takes your car. Then you walk through a magnificent lobby, past a small "footbridge" with small waterfalls on both sides and out toward the patio at the back of the place. The staff is extremely friendly and they escort you to your destination.
The outside patio area overlooks the beach and the ocean, and in the center of the patio is a rectangular "infinity" fountain with water flowing on all four sides. It's so quiet you feel an immediate sense of peaceful serenity. The ambiance is so relaxing, it's incredible.
Our table was ready and waiting for us, but they never rushed us. We sat for a while enjoying our drinks (I had a frozen Rumrunner... the best tasting Rumrunner I ever had!!) and when we were ready we sat at our table.
The service was 5-star from start to finish; fast ,very friendly and super-attentive. As for the food, absolutely delicious. I started with a salad and had Lobster Taglietelle (Lobster tails in a pasta marinara). I don't recall what the rest of my family ate but they each loved their dinners.
Since it was Father's Day, they surprised us with a very generous portion of delicious Red Velvet cake along with these small round desserts on a stick. They looked like lollipops and also tasted delicious.
It was a little expensive but definitely worth it! The next time our friends from up north come to visit us, I'm taking them to AQ at the Acquolina. That is going to be my new "Favorite Restaurant."
We originally sat outside with others, but moved inside because of a smoker, but we are so happy that we did. The dining room is beautiful. Has a chandler that is 3 stories high that hangs surrounded by an ornately carved ceiling, it is breathtaking. We sat at a sofa/chair table. Perfect for our anniversary. I would highly recomend AQ to anyone. It is a special place. And the food was just a special as the surroundings
I took 2 girlfriends who were visiting from Denver and loved that we could sit outside and hear the ocean and see the beautiful setting. The food was fab…they both got the Hanger steak and loved it. I got the salmon and it too was fab. Server was busy but was attentive and very thorough
with her presentation. It was a great evening and they loved it.
The setting of AQ restaurant in the Acqualina hotel was beautiful. Coupled with a lovely fall evening the ambiance was perfect. Unfortunately the menu was limited, the wait staff somewhat inexperienced although very attentive. However the food was mediocre at best. Sorry AQ, you need to do something about the culinary experience you offer.
Miami Spice permits diner's to experience restaurants that they might not typically visit.
The Hotel is absolutely beautiful, the staff warm & welcoming.
As a visitor from New York, this restaurant is a keeper!
The music was from the 70's and a pleasant surprise!
