Apsara at Anse Chastanet Resort
The hotel and restaurant are amazing and the food is Michelin star quality. Beautiful location too
Apsara has lovely service and provides good food from beginning to ending! The Samosas with Mango chutney and tamarind are delicious, the papadums are served with delicious chutneys and spreads, the food is fresh and flavourful. One of my favourite dishes was the Jugal Bandhi! However, I enjoyed all of the dishes there!
Ate at Apsara Saturday night. The food was like a slightly below average Indian restaurant here in the States at twice the price. Was expecting a much better meal. Ordered the mixed grill and a side of naan with peppers. The mixed grill had three medium size shrimp and one very small lamb rib chop, both overcooked. It also had maybe three or four small chicken cubes on it that were cooked ok. Pretty average dish. The naan was more like a grilled flatbread with chopped bell pepper on it than a real fluffy baked naan you get here in the States. It was also dry too. The dessert was good. The service was good one minute and then would disappear for 10 minutes. My wine glass sat empty about 2/3 through the entree and no one ever stopped by until I was long done with the course and just handed me a dessert menu. BUT more than all of that, the resort should be embarrassed by how bad the road into the property is. SPEND some money and fix it rather than saying FU to your guests and their rental cars (and their dental work). I had reservations the next night for Jade Mtn and canceled cause I wasn't going to drive that road again. I'm glad I choose to stay at Ladera rather than Anse Chastnet for this trip.
Anniversary dinner lovely
I understand things happen (I actually own a restaurant) but our experience was beyond disappointing. We arrived at sunset. My wife and I were celebrating our 7th anniversary and mother’s day as we had ultra-premie twins last year so we needed a relaxing get away. We both ordered the large craft beers ($18/ea). They brought them out in ice buckets. I thought for presentation but come to find out they were hot (more to that later). As we sat and tried to drink our hot $22 beers (after VAT & Service charge), we found it harder and harder to see since there were no lights on. Another table asked for a lantern for their table so we did the same and shortly after finally got our food ordered. Food came out later and the taste was pretty good but we couldn’t even see what we were eating. Later, as we attempted to eat in the dark, we finally overheard that the power was out. Nice to finally know what was going on. The power finally came back on as we were finishing our meal and we ordered dessert. Our waitress left and returned some 8-10min later to tell us that there was no ice cream since it had all melted with the power being off......but did we still want to order the desserts, without ice cream, for the full prices? At this point I’m questioning having picked pork entree that was likely held at unsafe temps with the power being down for an extended time. We declined dessert and asked for a check......which took forever and then we sent them along with our credit card. We then sat for 25min+ waiting on our check to come back (all along never being offered water or additional drinks). We flagged our waitress down to find out they’d gone up the hill to run the card. She finally returned and said they had issues with the CC machine and asked us to pay cash. We asked them to manually imprint the info and after another 15min we finally got a receipt and left......2.5hrs and many mosquito bites later. We attempted to contact through FB with no response.
Had issues with bugs being attracted to our white table cloth and fought them off from the food. Dinner and food was good and seating next to water a big plus.
Delicious fresh meal at beach front restaurant
Amazing people and food.
We knew that the menu was limited in advance, but a few more American options would be helpful. Location is superb!
We are on vacation a
I greatly enjoyed the Indian cuisine. The lamb chop, chicken and shrimp combo was delicious. Don't miss the sticky toffee pudding dessert!
Overall solid restaurant Indian restaurant in St. Lucia. Would have liked to see more fusion type dishes. Goat curry was very good, rest was unmemorable. Drive is a bit tough, but worth it for the adventurous.
getting to this restaurant is an adventure. It is accessed (along with the very high end resort with which it is associated) by an almost impassible road (I haven't seen such demolished roads since Costa Rica). At the end, however, is a beautiful and delightful restaurant. The food was wonderfully prepared, beautifully presented and offered in a truly lovely setting. The best dining experience we had in St. Lucia.
Food and service were both great. The beach side atmosphere was perfect for proposing to my girlfriend
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The service was impeccable, the servers went out of their way to accommodate our requests for vegan choices and I asked for no chili on my fish. The atmosphere is tropically romantic being open-air, beachfront and softly lit. My husband enjoyed the Caribbean Goad Vindaloo which was rich and flavorful, my Tikhi Jhingli Machli (catch of day) was cooked perfectly - moist and tender fish, our son loved the Jugal Bandhi (lamb chop, prawn and cajun tandoori chicken - a little kick from the spices but in no way overwhelming the flavors of the meat and our daughter, who is vegan, enjoyed the Gobhi Aloo (cauliflower and potato) and the Subz Ke Samose which the server conferred with the chef to be sure it was prepared vegan for our daughter. All-in-all one of our best meals on the island.
Apsara was a last minute change of plans after canceling a reservation in Castries for a closer venue to our hotel in Soufiere. What a delightful decision it was! We were warned of the rough road to Anse Chastanet but well worth the bumps. My boyfriend and I both had a mixed plate of lamb loin, prawns and kingfish. Absolutely perfectly execution. The naan was delicious as well. Even though we arrived well after the saught after sunset views, it was still lovely to sit at the lapping water's edge and the glow of the moonlight. A perfect evening all around! Thank you!
The food was not near the taste of a Indian cusine, we had dinner at masala bay night before. Masala bay food was authentic and great flavor. The owner and chef talk to us about our preference and tailored the food according to our liking. At apsara the chef and the kitchen owner for the Indian cusine was present, she did introduce herself to guest, but not us as they were only 3 table booked. So I guess there was enough time to meet.
About the food, I would 100percent not recommend due to the taste of the cusine. The hotel location was great, I think and it's true the resort rents the kitchen to Anita the manager of the apsara restaurant for the Indian cusine. I have personally drived from soufere to Marigot bay just got the masala bay food.
Actually we drove to masala bay frist and next day we had dinner at apsara at jade mountain. They seriously need to look at the taste
Wanted to try some Indian food and this one is pretty good. The mood was just perfect and was very romantic. The ambience was perfect. Nice one!
