The food & service were great, but the ambiance was more like a sports bar with noise & TVs even in the dining area. Made it hard to completely enjoy a nice dinner.

Ok for a breakfast place. A bit overpriced especially since many items were at the end and were not replaced. The omelette station was missing a few ingredients and the grits pan was empty. A server said he would bring more out but never did.

I recently hosted my book club's meeting at Apropoe. The service and food were both excellent. Our server, Mustapha, was very attentive and accommodating. One of my guests, a vegetarian, unknowingly ordered a grilled cheese sandwich which had bacon jam on it. When she mentioned this, the chef replaced her sandwich with a bacon-free substitution. Another one of my guests was bothered by the sun in her eyes while she was dining. The restaurant staff graciously remedied this problem by lowering the electronically-operated shade. In addition, even though I had made a reservation for 8, I had ten guests show up, and the restaurant staff accommodated us by adding additional chairs. I would definitely give Apropoe high marks for customer service!

I was really hoping the crab cakes would be worthy of their location, but they were a bit bland. They skimped on the aioli and the corn relish, so this main plate was lacking in diversity of flavors and textures. Pineapple upside down cake was unremarkable. Overall, I was expecting better tasting food at this price point.

This supposedly Poe-themed restaurant had nothing Poe related to be found, so that was a let down there. The restaurant has a combination of tables and lounge areas, so you can take your pick of seating. The room was dark and quiet enough to have easy conversations at our table.

Went here for a business breakfast. I had the egg white frittata which was pretty healthy and delicious. I would have appreciated a side of potatoes, fruit or something else with it.

Fantastic service and a great atmosphere. I loved the seating arrangements with the bench.

I wish i could remember our servers name...she was awsome!!! We were going to Steely Dan show and came in for dinner before hand. Made good recommendations and so friendly. We just had bottle of wine and sandwiches and all were GREAT!!!

Good food made with fresh ingredients, nice server, and comfortable seating (both in the restaurant and the lounge). A better view of the harbor would have been nice, but all in all we had a fine brunch.

We both ordered the soup (crab/corn chowder and red pepper) and they were good. We had the pasta with bolognaise sauce and it was good, but left a vinegar-like after taste. We ordered the crab pizza and it was just OK -nothing to rave about. Overall the food was good - but I wish we would have tried another place as many other restaurants had spectacular reviews. This restaurant was selected for convenience.

Service was slow. We waited 15 minutes before we had to ask someone to assist us to take our order then it took another 5 minutes. Initially the waffle was cold and hash brown were very oily. The waffle was warmed in the microwave brought back to us flipped over as it was a newly made waffle. Finally, I talked to person who worked in the kitchen and he had them to make another waffle. Very dissatisfied. The manager Katie wasn't very helpful either. She never checked to see if everything was alright.

Very cool location and ambiance, but the food was not good at all. The overly expensive hamburger was just a meatball of low grade beef that looked grey and had no flavor at all. The ravioli was nothing special and was bland. The tomato soup boasted a Parmesan cheese "puff" which was nothing more than an airy bread stick, while the soup was like Campbell's. Overall a very expensive place with very lack luster food.

It was very convenient to dine here as we were going to a Pier 6 concert. We were surprised at the cost. We had wine, cup of soup and small salads to keep the cost down. Felt like a lobby, not a separate restaurant. Our waiter was fantastic and made the dining experience special.

Went for Baltimore Restaurant Week. $30 app/entree/dessert was a steal! The chilled cucumber yogurt soup with crab salad sounded interesting and turned out phenomenal. I got the pan seared strip loin as my entree cooked medium and it was one of the best pieces of steak I think I've ever had. And for dessert, the angel food cake with grilled peaches and vanilla ice cream was perfect. The place had a chill vibe with some lounge chairs and couch areas, and the dining tables had bigger comfy chairs. It wasn't too loud for our group of 6 to have nice conversation, it would probably be great for a date as well as the lights were dimmed a little and the I could see the setting being romantic. Will definitely return and recommend to friends.

Let me start with some positive feedback. Six friends met at Apropoes for Restaurant week. We were seated fairly quickly and the food was a hit! The mix green salad, pan seared strip, and key lime cheesecake were fantastic! Everyone was pleased with their food selections.

Now about the service. There were five African Americans and one Caucasian in our group. The waiter was a Caucasian male. The waiter did not introduce himself by name nor greet the table with any pleasantries. His attitude was very standoffish as if he did not want to service our table. The appetizers, entrees, drinks and deserts took a very long time to come to our table. We noticed that other guests who arrived after us were being tended to more frequently and their food arrived before ours. After waiting for over 15 minutes for the waiter to come back after we finally received our drinks, I solicited assistance from another service staff to speak with the manager. The original waiter never came back to our table. I spoke with the manager about this situation and she apologized for his behavior. I asked the manager did the waiter have an issue with our race because we noticed how he tended to other tables that were Caucasian but neglected ours. The manager responded that race was not an issue, but considering the circumstances it makes you wonder.

I will not come back to this establishment just because I didn't leave feeling that my business was welcomed. I cannot overlook the fact that the food was delicious and I must give kudos to the chef. Unfortunately poor service always trumps the quality of the food in my opinion.

Even though the restaurant was completely empty we had very poor service and the food quality for a Marriot was quite pitiful... This is Baltimore where crab is king and we were served a soft shell appetizer where the crab hadn't even been cleaned. There were lungs on the soft shell!! Our server replied "that they come in that way" which is absolutely ridiculous. My son ate half of the soft shell not realizing and could have become very sick. We also ordered a bottle of wine and instead of pouring a taste to make sure our bottle was good he proceeded to fill both our glasses not giving us the opportunity to see if it was corked or not. There were many other issues including overcooked burgers, etc... but, after the soft shell disaster and the lack of wine presentation I clearly knew that I would never return. I can't believe this restaurant is still open with the vast amount of options in the area. Maybe the hotel breakfast crowd keeps this operational...

I have not been here in a few years and it was under different ownership. I was here due to mother's day, but not for the mother's day bunch. I had a very dried up vegetable omelet and dry french toast. Everything was very over cost down to the mimosas. I really didn't appreciate the quality of service we received. I feel like we were being rushed. I will not be recommending the place to no one.

it's a nice location on the Inner Harbor. The service was top notch - especially since we wanted a quiet dinner to visit and catch up. The presentations were nice, but the menu is nothing exciting. It is a hotel coffee shop with a better view than most - so not surprising that we were the only people there at 6:30

We had a group of 4 adults and two children for a Sunday Brunch after staying overnight. apropoe's offers a great brunch menu but the buffet won us all over and we're so glad we chose it. There were options for every eater, including two picky kid's and both kids and adults with allergies. Offerings such as made-to-order omelets and waffles, to regular eggs and breakfast meat options, buscuits and gravy, even cereal and milk. The food was really delicious, especially for a buffet, and our server was awesome. Will definitely be back!

I don't care for hovering, but it shouldn't be too much to ask for the waitstaff to be basically attentive or to get a simple drink order (five people) to the table in your under ten minutes in a not busy restaurant. Not here.

They forgot my dinner order so I got my dinner after everyone else in my group. The salad boasted goat cheese but there was hardly any. Also boasted sprouts but hardly any. What I did eat was good

I was in the Marriott attending a business seminar. I arrived earlier then my colleagues with their meal selections. The waitress was friendly and above accommodating. She planned the food order to come out at exactly my meeting time. She also provided me with a beverage not normally served in their restaurant. The food was all good and the service was above standard. Great place to go for a business lunch.
