Apple Farm Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Usually this restaurant is outstanding. We dined there on Thanksgiving and while the food was good the service was less than average. After we ordered, our salads arrived in an appropriate amount of time but the corn bread never arrived. A few bites into our salads they were placing our dinner plates in front of us. It felt rushed and made this holiday dinner not that enjoyable. Corn bread finally arrived at the end of dinner after asking for it several times and the busboy delivering it to the wrong table 2 times. Suggest to the wait staff to not rush your tables and let your diners enjoy each course.
VERY DISAPPOINTING Thanksgiving. 2016 was so good at Apple Farm, we returned for 2017 Thankgiving. Terrible experience this time. Waiter seemed bothered to be serving us. The requested medium prime rib was very rare. We couldn't eat it, but the waiter was acting so strange we were afraid to send it back. The vegetables were mushy. The $40 dinner came with a sliver of corn bread- we asked for a second helping, but waiter said they were almost out so they couldn't give seconds. It was only 5:30pm. The soup was very good, but that didn't make up for the terrible dinner and service. Strangest Thanksgiving ever!
Second time we've enjoyed a brunch at this restaurant. This time it was for the Cal poly move-in weekend. Thankfully they took reservations as you can imagine it's a very busy time of year. The food is delicious and comforting, do not expect anything outside that typical brunch menu though tasty and you feel that it's very fresh. Due to the busyness of the weekend the server was a bit overwhelmed, but I'll let it go this time.
I highly recommend the corn beef hash as you can taste the freshness of the corn beef, etc. My husband got the breakfast quesadilla which was delicious. The homemade pastries that are brought your table before your food is our warm and quite flavorful. Highly recommend this as a brunch / lunch location. I have not attended their happy hour nor dinner yet, but I feel that may be in our future in it for the next four years ...!
My 60th birthday was filled with a wonderful hotel room, movie in the moonlight, great food for lunch and dinner, and the best apple pie a la mode for dessert! I have wanted to stay at the Apple Farm since my secretary told me about it many many years ago. We sent my parents there for an anniversary several years ago. Now it was our turn!
We did not stay. The host was condescending, seated a large party that came after we did and refused to seat us outside although other tables were full and we had requested that seating online. We went to the Madonna Inn Copper Cafe instead where we were welcomed and treated in a respectful manner.
We made reservations through Opentable for Saturday 7/28 @ 6:30pm but the host on duty that evening inadvertently overlooked the update to Opentable and it was flagged as a 'No-Show'...
Later we learned that it was a host training issue, which Apple Farm corrected with Opentable the next day when we inquired.
Apple Farm has been one of our favorite dining places in SLO. Overall the dining experience was great as always. Meal portions, freshness of ingredients, creative flair, wine pairing and overall quality was consistently outstanding. Our server Nick was fantastic - he was personable and attentive which sums up our recommendation for Apple Farm dining.
