Osteria Applausi (Applause in Italian) is one of three Italian restaurants owned and operated by the Marchetti family in Fairfield county. Osteria Applausi opened in Greenwich in 1994. Each customer is treated like family. Our food is authentic Italian food requiring only the finest and freshest ingredients, every cut of meat and fish is hand-selected and Maria makes handmade pasta daily. If you want to experience a true taste of Italy and be treated like one of the family, come to Osteria Applausi. Beppe Cornacchia, co-owner and manager of Osteria Applausi, has been a vital part of the restaurant since 2002. Prior to managing Applausi, Beppe lived in Tuscany since 1985 and worked in many successful Italian restaurants. He brought his vision of "La Cucina Italiana" to Fairfield County. Beppe also orchestrated the beautiful renovation of Applausi in 2010 to making it more metropolitan and giving it a sleek New York City feel in Old Greenwich.

Applausi Ratings and Reviews
Incredible gem.... everything was delicious! So popular, we had to wait for the final check because it is basically a small restaurant and they were beyond filled to capacity. But, we'd go again tomorrow if we didn't live so far away (Palm Beach Gardens, Florida). This place rivals anywhere in the world.
We chose this restaurant as it was a central location for each of the dinner guests. I understand that restaurants rely on its regulars but our table was located right by the front door on a very cold night. Every diner who came and went kept the door open so they could hang up or retrieve their coats. So we were cold most of the night, our food did not keep warm as we were eating and not once did a waiter or staff person ask how we were faring with the cold. This was a very disappointing meal and I will not be recommending this restaurant. If you are a regular you will be treated nicely. If not, you will be given the "left-overs".
