There are just too many fine restaurant choices in North Texas to abide clueless, but sincere service, and mediocre food (a generous description). I can't imagine this place being in business in 90 days. Try some place, anyplace else. You'll almost certainly have a better experience.
The food was terrific, as it usually is. The atmosphere was nicely energetic and festive. There was a fixed price brunch for Easter that included three courses and mimosas. The options were varied and well done, and our mimosas were freshened frequently. The price, especially considering it was Easter, was exceptionally reasonable and contributed to the nice crowd. Definitely a good choice!
I hadn't eaten at Apollonia's but had visited the area. In looking for a place that would take upwards of 10 people, this came up on the radar. Great find, and enjoyed the lunch very much. One in my party gave rave reviews of the lasagna. Glad I got introduced to this spot!
I had a large party, one person in the party had a birthday and I made an early reservation 5:15 in order to have enough time to make an 8:00 show at the Eisemann. I told our server Scott we needed to be out by 7:15 so we wouldn't have to rush and that did not happen, I also mentioned more than once we were celebrating a birthday and it was never acknowledged - not even a free dessert. The server must have been new because he was overly slow. Took a lot of time repeating orders and still some were wrong, spoke like the portions were LARGE - they were not. He totally forgot 1 person's meal, and wine. Finally got the dinner but never the wine and of course was charged for it. Made a big deal out of who was on which check then put wrong items on the checks, just irritating overall. The food was marginal at best, I even asked hostess for pepper when food was brought to table and never got it. If the server was new then most of this is management's fault for not assigning him some help with a large party and then by sitting more tables in his section so he was really overwhelmed. Your food and service did not live up to the reviews I read - I expected more.
I like to judge Italian by lasagna. The sauce was great, but where was the meat and cheese? Hints here and there. Table bread was disappointing for an Italian place. Wine list was good with many Italian selections by glass or bottle. Only available gelato was chocolate but the waitress managed to find me some sorbet that wasn't on the menu. Parking was right out front and it was easy to find.
We suggested this restaurant to our friends for our 2 family Saturday night meal. They said that is one of our favorite places. We all went and we understand why. What a lovely place. The service was great and we met the owner. The food was delicious and just the right amount of noise so we could chat. We will be going back soon and bringing my parents as I know they too will enjoy this restaurant.
Thanks for a great night! Love the live music on Fridays!
Nothing special Ok. Nice Italian but nothing special.
Chose this location for a quiet business lunch and was very pleased with everything! Their menu had a wide variety including an amazing stake which my guest devoured and said it was better than most stake houses. Their wedding soup is exceptionally rich and tasty. You have to try some of this when you go there. Yummm!
I have a food allergy and noted it in my reservation. This is the only restaurant that called me immediately to talk to me about it. They wanted to ensure my personal safety and dining enjoyment. What a refreshing change!
Three friends went there to celebrate a birthday. First time any of us had been there. We shared fried artichokes and beet salad, then had separate entrees. The birthday girl's entrée was the pork saltimbocca from the main menu, and I thought it was the best of the three. Decent wine selections, too. We appreciated that it wasn't too noisy, too.
Very nice "familia" atmosphere. Service was initially attentive, then left my date & I to ourselves to avoid being intrusive - appreciate that very much. The food was simply outstanding. Terrific seafood cream on my date's ravioli and my salmon was excellent as well.
Was suggested to us to try Apollonia's for dinner. We did and thought was terrific. Service was friendly and attentive, food was very good and we enjoyed ourselves. No issue in recommending to others and we defnitely will go back.
Excellent food and service. I had the salmon with pesto special. It was outstanding. My wife had the penne special which had aunique meat sauce. The new owners have a winner.
Wow what a surprise. Great food and service. I had never heard of short ribs Italian style until now. Outstanding recipe, very tasty surprise. We will be back again to try the other dishes on the menu. My only request is that they put more selections of Cabernet wine by the glass on the wine list. The only one they have is not a full bodied cab. Still, the new Apollonia's owners have a winner.
Great food, good ambiance made for an enjoyable evening. Very attentive and friendly staff.
The Metroplex is lacking in good, basic, moderately priced Italian comfort food. Apollonia delivers on all fronts. Really good, reasonably priced. Eggplant parmn meatballs and gnochi are top notch. Plus a nice selection of very good, moderately priced wine. Wonderful find. A bit off the beaten path but worth the trip. Definitely will be back.
Try the veggie pizza - Amazing.
We liked this place. The chicken and artichoke dish was great. Unlike most places that cook with artichokes, the artichoke did not overwhelm the dish. Nicely spiced as well. Very tasty. My wife had the sausage and peppers dish which she said was very good. The sausage has a nice spiciness to it but again the spiciness did not overwhelm the dish. We will return again to try their pizza. They have a somewhat limited menu so I hope they add more dishes to it over time.
The food quite a dissappointment and was way over priced for what you get.
Service was a 2 1/2 on a scale of 5. Our server tried hard but didn't seem to be very experienced and there were a lot of misses - long delay in getting drink refills, bread took 2 requests, etc.
But the food was OUTSTANDING! I had the Fritti De Mar (Seafood Pasta) that was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. Other dishes enjoyed the table and deemed "excellent" were the Chicken Parmesan, Eggplant Parmesan, and Spaghetti and Meatballs. Bruschetta was very, very good and the calamari was good. Only dish receiving less than a "fantastic" review was my wife's shrimp rosoto which she said was good, just not great.
I was positively surprised with our experience. I loved the family atmosphere and enjoyed learning about the restaurant history. Our server was knowledgable, friendly and entertaining. One of the owners came to check on us and made sure our experience was exceptional until we left. The food was pretty good and worth a second visit.
We chose this place because it was a central location to meet up with family. Manage our surprise when we had superior service, great food were treated as if we were the only ones in there. The owner even came to great us and talked with us after our meal was done. This place is to die for and and we will be goinf back very soon! Our family also wants to thank our waiter for his military service!
We had lunch with a group of 20 and dinner the same night just 4 people. the food is good the staff is attentive and both visits were more than pleasant. We will be back.
This just a real gem. The food is real authentic Italian. The Antipasta is excellent with meats and cheeses and appropriate vegetables. Sauces are flavorful and adequately spiced to taste just right. Very attentive and knowledgeable staff. The wine list is limited but has decent wines at fair prices as is the rest of the menu. Bruce the owner is a great host who welcomes his guests personaly and makes you feel a part of the family. Rosalie the mother is a is a delightful person who inspires the the kitchen and staff .
