My birthday dinner with friends was perfect, enjoyed great food and conversation.
Aperitif never disappoints whether it’s for a Friday night date night or a couples birthday celebration. Great lighting and bar and sometimes live music! Perfect adult night out. Terrific food and wine list. Not recommended for families with small children.
great bar and cocktails ... also good for short or long dinners with friends or family. our waitress tonight was Michelle and she was friendly and funny, added a lot to our pleasurable experience. I love it here! always a happy time.
Jay was great! Food was amazing. Highly recommend!
Always good, solid food and top notch service.
New Years Eve is not a fair measure of a restaurant’s mettle. We are long-time denizens of Aperitif, and the food is consistently and predictably good. Appreciated the ala carte menu in New Years Eve, when many other places resort to exorbitant package menus. Service was a bit more frenetic than usual this New Years Eve, which is to be expected. But we’ll always come back.
We were there with a group of 10 people on New Years Eve. We had made a reservation so they were aware we were coming. We were probably the largest table in there. Once seated, it took over 25 minutes for someone to come over and take our drink order. We actually had to go and ask someone to come over so we could order drinks. We received a response that they were trying to figure out who was responsible for our table, but a waitress hesitantly agreed to take the drink order. Fifteen minutes later, someone from the table went to follow up on the drink order. We were told they were just confirming how many people we had in our party. I'm not sure how that is relevant? Well, after 45 minutes, one of my friends finally went and spoke to the bartender. We finally got our drinks and a waiter FINALLY came to our table to take our meal order. I will say, once they figured out which waiter was responsible for our table, he did an excellent job and was very attentive. He provided great service and the mix-up certainly wasn't his fault. However, we never should have sat there for 45 minutes having to beg for service. I love this place and their food so I was really disappointed to have this experience on a night like NYE!
Great New Year’s Eve. Outstanding food we werent rushed , the staff was attentive.
Will be back next year
Very disappointed in service and food early lunch New Year's Day. Waitress was struggling and ultimately blamed communication with chefs. Food was ill prepared except for calamari order that was returned after having asked for fried order originally and correct order was brought to table 2nd time. Waitress apologized, she was clearly ill on the job. I did not ask to speak to management..had voiced my concern at table and hoped for turnaround on crepe order which was late and ultimately incorrect. Bar service has been best experience.
Went out of their way to accommodate my dinner request! Great establishment!
The dining at Aperitif is always great, food, ambiance and service.
Great service. Great food. Friendly atmosphere.
We go every year to celebrate Christmas and have never been disappointed. Love it!
We’ve been here many times and have never been disappointed. We took our friends for their first time and they enjoyed it a lot. The seared tuna, skirt steak, shrimp and pasta, and the halibut were all delicious. We felt like we were being rushed somewhat but it was Christmas Eve and I know that the workers wanted to go home.
The food was great, service was slow, & we felt rushed because they kept asking us if we were done.. the guy at the bar was very “weird”... otherwise everything else was okay....
Our server promptly asked if we wanted cocktails and got them to us. Our waiter remembered our orders exactly, they don't write them down, and we were served each course spaced accordingly. There is valet parking and a parking lot behind the restaurant. If you know Rockville Centre, parking can be difficult. Definitely will be going again.
The food was very good but unfortunately we experienced the worst service ever. We ordered some wine but it didn't come for awhile. When we finally got hold of the waiter, he said they had run out of what we ordered. (but he hadn't come back to the table to tell us). Four of us ordered soup. But only two of us got soup spoons. When we asked for two more, we were told the restaurant only had two soup spoons.
Food is always good
Food was great, service was great. Quality is consistent.
My family loves this restaurant because it is quiet with great food and excellent French ambiance.
The host and hostess were very friendly. The food was very good. The waiters are never friendly.
Great waiter, delicious food. Bartender has a bit of a heavy hand.
Used to love this place. They have changed in the past few years. French fries are no longer good, they have downgraded to the mass produced crunchy fake fries. Waiter was too talks. Overpriced for mediocre food.
Delicious food, excellent service and creative menu.
Amazing time we had can’t wait to try it again.!!! Food was delicious, services was great our waiter name Mackenzie he make sure we had a good time .. and he spoke French that made our experience great..!!
Ate here during LI Restaurant Week - the $29.99 prix fixe is an absolute STEAL here, as the regular menu is pricey. The food was absolutely delicious, though, and we especially loved the risotto croquettes, gnocchi parisienne, bistro salad, and espresso creme brulee! We were favorably impressed by our pre-dinner cocktails and the diverse wine list has a good selection across a range of prices. Only complaint would be that the service, while extremely courteous and friendly, was exceptionally slow for a Monday night when the restaurant as nearly empty. Otherwise definite high marks and we will be returning!
Aperitif is consistently good. The goat cheese and fig tart was outstanding and butternut squash gnocchi absolutely delicious. Wonderful servers took good care of us! Definitely recommend.
Great atmosphere. Very good consistent food with good value. Host / manager was very friendly and acknowledged the fact that we have been repeat customers.......very nice touch.
We went for brunch. We were the only guest for about 30 min and the did not seem prepared to take care of us. The waiter said he could not make drinks because he did not know how. I ordered a sandwich, Tasted microwaved. My sister had really eggy French toast. There was a funny smell when we first walked into the place. Seemed old and dated. Burger was just ok. No good kid options.
All portions were smaller than in the past. The onion soup was very good. The Waldorf salad came with no walnuts and we had to request them. The manager who inquired about that made it seem as though we asked for additional walnuts, as opposed to none at all. Our waitress was good.
One of my favorites for special occasions or just a night out with the girls. The food never disappoints.
We had the best waiter ever, who is also the General Manager! We were there for a pre-wedding lunch for my sister and he went out of his way to make it special for myself, my mom, and my sister. I can’t wait to sit in his section again!
Loved the decor and the food and service was great. The only hiccup was the bartender, who was very slow. We went on a Tuesday at 6:00pm and the place was fairly empty. Can't imagine how she would do if it was a busy night.
Definitely has gone down in quality since years past. The duck was dry and I was served 2 drum sticks (no breast ). The tuna entree was delicious. We had an issue about whether my husband's McCallan 12 scotch was watered down. The bartender and manager denied it. My husband has been drinking the stuff for 20 years and can tell when it has been "altered". We will not return.
DELICIOUS! The service was remarkable as well! Cant wait to go back!
This restaurant is such a cute place. Truly looks like a restaurant you would find in France. I ordered the sliders and French fries for my meal. Both was out of this world. We sat outside which was adorable and had a lovely evening. I highly recommend!!
We were celebrating a birthday. All of us were impressed with the whole experience. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. We will definitely be going back.
My husband and I went for our 24th wedding Anniversary. It was a really great time. The restaurant has a really cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious and so were the drinks. The steak tartar was amazing. We enjoyed the whole meal. We sat outside which made the time even better. It wasn’t a busy evening and we weren’t rushed. The staff really rocked and our server Jade was great. We have to come back again and try something different. The chocolate moose was divine.
Cod was not fresh and was fishy. Place was empty on a Friday night.
Great place but is beginning to look worn. They did not have mu reservation.
