Very difficult to get drinks when we 1st arrived @ the bar. Then we couldn’t find anyone to close out the tab. After we sat for When the food arrived it was delicious but service was disappointing.
I've always enjoyed their food, however, the last time I was there, I ordered the Coq Au Vin (chicken stewed in red wine) and it was incredibly dry, with no sauce. All the other orders were excellent though. I always order the grilled Octopus which is delicious!
Very comfortable setting, good food, and attentive service.
Food & service I felt was very mediocre. No one loved what they ate. Waitress was not very attentive. Waited way too long for the bill. Overall, not a good night. Won’t be returning.
Amazing food, great atmosphere. What more could you ask for?
Good food. Annoying waiter.
Arrived during happy hour, so had a glass of wine at the bar. Then moved to a table in their outdoor seating area, which is lovely. Shared a seafood salad - one of the best around. I had grilled branzino, my husband had the short rib special. Both just delicious. Wonderful service as always!
Met a friend there for a light dinner. I had an amazing Chopped Salad with Grilled Chicken. It had a fantastic Mediterranean Style home made salad dressing that tasted fantastic. My friend is Vegan and our waiter was very accommodating and they made her a custom made Vegan soup. She liked it very much! I also loved the Ibiza Chill music in the background. Very sophisticated, yet casual and comfortable place to eat and hang out.
Had an awesome time celebrating my husbands birthday! Service was great! Food and cocktails were also very good. Apps and the scallop entree was delicious. Desserts were meh. I would definitely come again. Great happy hour specials as well!
This is always a fun place, and the food is great. They have a good bar and nice wine flights. On Saturday evenings it is jammed. During the week it is quieter. But watch out for Sunday evenings. They have live music, and it's way too loud for the size. Nice appetizers, great fish, pasta, sides. Crepes Suzette are very special.
Love going to Aperitif Bistro. Great food and very friendly service. I’ve had the seafood salad; fantastic! I had the scallops tonite. Never had better.
I’ve been to Aperitif many times over the years. This time we went specifically for my friend to have escargot and he was not disappointed. Most of us had fish for our entrees and the received positive reviews. The one non pescatarian had an onion soup chicken sandwich which was quite large but devoured in its entirety. The 2 desserts were eaten up also. There were less diners than expected so the noise level was perfect and the service okay. Not as attentive as we would have liked and plates were removed before all diners had finished, one of my pet peeves. The bill was pretty high, let’s say on the high side, for the island. I’ve been here many times so it wasn’t a surprise. All in all, the evening was a hit and I continue to recommend Aperitif.
4 stars because the bread was dry and stale. Even after it was replaced. Then it was warm, dry and stale. However, the meal was great. I had the pistachio crusted swordfish. Mmmh it was well flavored and juicy. Went well with the mashed squash. Ate every morsel on my plate.
Our waiter was very attentive and food was great as usual! Not too noisy which is always nice when you’re catching up with good friends you haven’t seen in a long while.
Food was amazing! Service was terrible. We had to get up from the table to ask our server for drinks, dessert and again the check as he was chatting up a storm and messing around with co-workers at the bar. My friend received the wrong meal but after 30 minutes of waiting for him she just ate it.
Our server was wonderful (can't remember her name) and the food was excellent.
I think I saw it said best in a review on this place by someone else. Good food, Good service, Bit pricey... I agree....
The food is always delicious so we come to Aperitif for our special occasions. The meal and service were great, perfect place to celebrate Fathers’ Day.
Waitress was inattentive. My appetizer was barely warm and sole was swimming in sauce.
This is the first time I have been disappointed at this restaurant. The onion soup had no onion soup in it, just a lot of cheese. The chicken sandwich was 5 inches tall and dry. The wait staff seemed amateurish, certain,y a difference from my last several visits.
I have enjoyed Aperitif Bistro in the past. I typically go for wine and cheese & have enjoyed it. However, i found dinner dissappointed, my duck was overcooked, and most of our food was bland. I will stick to the flights of wine and their excellent cheeses.
We went to this resturant on a Sunday at 6:30. Our first surprise was when we were told to choose any table we wanted. There were only 3 tables filled, 1 waiter. French onion soup was excellent. Polet roti was very bland. I did not enjoy it. My husband had the rack of lamb and he loved it. Quiet atmosphere. The place was empty. Slow service.
It was a very nice experience. The service was excellent. The food was superb. It was a little overpriced.
Food was just ok. Service was terrible
Been here multiple times. Something changed. Food was sub par. Croissants for example used to be freshly baked. These were clearly store bought and had been refrigerated. Creme brulee prepared in advanced and tasted very processed. Cold coffee. Server was gruff. Waited 30 minutes for check. Hopefully, it's a one time event but not sure I'd go back....
Always a great place to dine! The food is outstanding. This is one of my favorite places in RVC.
Food is consistently well- prepared. I prefer to eat from the daily special menu. Fresh fish, etc. A little confused why the flight of wine we ordered Saturday came in champagne glasses but we did not complain. Overall, good neighbor hood eatery.
I would recommend Aperitif based on the many meals we have enjoyed in the past several years. I could only give 3 stars for this recent visit though, and it makes me a bit sad, because it wasn't as great as it usually is. It must have been an off night so I won't gripe here. I will be back for the attentive charming service, and fresh, perfectly made bistro entrees that I have had in the past.
I always wanted to eat at Aperitif. I am glad I finally did! The food and service was great! These menu items in particular were amazing - lobster bisque soup, escargot, white wine muscles, salmon and the chocolate mouse dessert. We had a blast and will definitely come back again!
When we ordered a bottle of wine, the waitress shouted that she’d be making the big bucks. Waitress had her hands all over the lips of our wine glasses and the top of our wine bottle. Appetizers were excellent. Dinner left a lot to be desired. Dessert seemed like it was purchased from Costco’s frozen desserts. Lots of other tables were unhappy as well. Manager seemed genuinely concerned.
Horrible service non food item in dinner. Waitress never came back after complaint made about dinner
Food was excellent. Service was spotty. Noise level way too high
Excellent food, beautiful restaurant. We will definitely be going back again.
Been to the location in Bayside several times. First time dining here and it was great. Might have enjoyed it better in the Rockville Center location better.
Solid French restaurant. Nice menue, consistently good food. Pretty space and a nice bar.
Aperitif Bistro is an excellent choice for a quiet dinner with friends or a gathering of friends at the bar. The food is excellent and a little different from normal bistro food which is so prevalent in Rockville Center. The french influence is clear and welcome change. Excellent service and good bar value on thier specials
I’ve been there a lot of times. The restaurant was not busy at 6:00. The music was extremely loud so everyone was talking very loud to over come it. There was a baby crying which didn’t help either.
Had a lovely evening with friends. The mussels were delish and the filet mignon tacos were a big hit.
The wine was affordable and a great selection. The service was very attentive, friendly and on point.
Would definitely be back to try more dishes.
The food and atmosphere was great here! Will definitely be returning.
