Second visit and thought Again that the food just missed the mark. Not well integrated and sometimes tasteless or overly Fried or spiced. I know some people love it but I don’t get it
I haven’t been to the restaurant for dinner in a few years. I found the food was just ok on this visit. I was hugely disappointed. I had built it up to my fellow diners and they were unimpressed.
It was very noisy as well. I’ve always considered it to be a favorite dining place but I guess no more.
The food, service and atmosphere was great, but our table was in the middle of high traffic area where staff had to constantly squeeze by. It was disruptive and put a damper on all the positives.
We really appreciated the fact that they didn’t rush us, given that they were waiting to turn the table over. However we were eating as we got the dishes so it was really up to them in the end. Dinner is small plates and some were better than others. A shrimp dish tasted great but we were annoyed about having to remove the shells on a nicely composed plate with delicious sauce. Braised duck leg was the standout dish as well as a pea pancake special that evening. Definitely save rooom for the chocolate torte- alone or on a dessert plate. Great restaurant but I think I would go back for brunch again before a second dinner.
Outstanding experience - service was great and food was delicious. Timing of shared plates coming out of oven was perfect. Would for sure reccomend to a friend
the food is outstanding and excellent value. However, the wine mark-up seems quite high.
Amazing food on a magical patio in the middle of LA!
Great service, and the sea bass was exceptional!
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The waitstaff is so helpful, knowledgeble, and professional. My favorite lunch entree is a the turkey focaccia sandwich which is always delicious. For dessert I shared the pumpkin cake with icecream, pomegranates, and pepitas. The budino is also amazing. This restaurant is consistently good.
AOC is wonderful for any occasion, lunch, dinner or brunch. The food is delicious and creative
The service is excellent. I am happy to eat here any time
Everything about AOC is just outstanding, from the food to the drinks, to the service and the ambiance
I'd recommend the restaurant for any and all occasions
As always AOC never disappoints.
Food and drinks were great as usual. Service was subpar for what you’d expect at a place like this.
Outstanding wine list. Nice bar. Staff was all very accommodating.
The server Jeff was great. The food was delicious and well put together. The atmosphere was outstanding. Would definitely come back to this place.
Always love dining at AOC.
We went for lunch and then came back for dinner; it is that good !
Wonderful atmosphere. Food was more family style service but gourmet sized portions. Truly enjoyed the time there and was not over stuff. The fried chicken was awesome!.
Beautiful restaurant. Knowledgeable staff. Food is delicious.
AOC was on our bucket lists, thus, my foodie friend and I finally decided to try it. Our original server was very helpful and attentive, but food was a disappointment. We chose Spanish fried chicken, scallops, sweet potatoes, farro with black rice and the ala carte bread to share. The Spanish fried chicken, really chicken tenders, was way overcooked and excessively oily. The dish was so overcooked that it was impossible to discern any of the spices or layers of flavor. My foodie friend remarked that it resembled burnt chicken mc nuggets for affluent adults. The yams were overly charred and the bacon was overcooked, hard and not of good quality. We did enjoy the scallops and the farro with black rice dishes. Perhaps, we dined on an off night. However, I doubt that we will be returning any time soon.
Beautiful setting, but the food was only OK.
Absolutely amazing dinner in LA. One of the best restaurants in all of Los Angeles. Signature cocktails, exquisite food set in a fun, relaxed ambiance. Put this one on your MUST VISIT list!
First rate from start to finish...
Met for an impromptu dining with friends after visit to a pt in Cedar's hospital. Service was attentive but not hovering. We ate mostly small vegetarian plates for sharing and some wines by the glass, nice selection. Food was delicious and outdoor patio beautiful and relaxing.
Food was great as usual. AOC has an interesting and fun menu.
Love the patio at AOC. So lovely and relaxing. Great service too. My favorites are the Vintners lunch platter, and the Spanish fried chicken. My only complaint is that our reservation was at 2:00, and after arriving we learned they curtailed the brunch hours to end at 2:00 instead of 3:00, as before. The chicken had previously been available as a small plate, but was only listed as part of the brunch chicken and waffles. Disappointed not to have the chicken! Please add back into the small plates section without the waffles!
Not a good place for brunch. Food took forever and was nothing special.
Amazing, if you are in L. A. this restaurant is a must. Everything and everyone was wonderful. Alex was our waiter and his recommendations were spot on. Great wine list wonderful deserts.
Small plates were the perfect size for two to share.
Unfortunately, there was a table next to us that had loud voices and frequent swearing. It effected the over all ambience for us.
Food was good, but service is slow and plates are very small. 3 or 4 would equal a meal, which makes this place deceptively expensive.
Huge wine binder
