The staff is very friendly and the brunch was really good. I like the goddess mocktail and the chicken and waffles were good.
We took our close friends for a birthday celebration and had a great experience! The atmosphere is so festive and warm there. They were really the re-inventors of small sharing plates which I love. One of our friends is a vegetarian and she had tons of options. Our waiter was really helpful in navy the Dine LA menu and also pacing our meal without rushing us. The food and wine were spectacular.
Service was friendly but otherwise mediocre. We were mostly ignored and it wasn’t clear who was even looking after our table. “Share plates” not designed for sharing delivered as they come from the kitchen. Asked for tea and coffee service with dessert but had to ask again when dessert was all but finished. Food was great but overall presentation and service was meh.
I will go back again soon
Wonderful birthday meal for my wife!
Very nice ambiance, room. We sat in the semi-outside room with wall heaters. Chairs were comfortable and the table was well located. Our server was excellent, attentive and informative.
The food was just average. Small portions accompanied by high prices and the cardinal sin of average-ness when combined. We ate tapas style, table of 6. The bacon wrapped figs were my favorite. The chicken plate was moist and nicely cooked. The other dishes including a beet salad, Brussels sprouts, halibut were serviceable but uninspiring given the price/portion/quality blend. It seems most of the dishes got close to very good but never made the final leap. No flavor complexity. Excessive effort none the least. Meh.
We had an excellent meal. The fine LA menu was quite generous and our server was just fantastic. Couldn’t have asked for. Better experience!
Went there for the Dine LA dinner menu. We were pleasantly surprised with the selection and taste of the food. Will definitely return.
The dinner and brunch were exquisite. The food was outstanding for the price during restaurant week. We will definitely return another day.
What a disappointment. It started off badly when we were seated at a tiny table against a post. Since it was 5:30 the place was empty except for a few large tables seated with only 2 guests. I asked to have a larger table and was told no, and then they continued to seat other parties of 2 at larger tables.
Not a great start ....
Ok, now about the food. Most everything is loaded with fat, grease and cholesterol. It was difficult to make reasonably healthy choices. An appetizer we thought were blistered tomatoes with some cheese on the side turned out to be a pizza. A dish we thought was salad with a small amount of chicken strips turned out to be a mound of fried chicken! The meat we both ordered (without sauces)came cold. We told them and they returned the same meat rewarmed ( not appropriate for a top notch restaurant) but our medium rare steak came back well done! The dessert (included) was really awful. There was a chocolate item that was like a lump of cold glue and a dry gingerbread item that was topped in grapefruit and orange rind. The topping was delicious but only a teaspoonful. Certainly not at all the experience I hoped for. Nice ambiance and our waiter was very pleasant. We both did not at all enjoy this dining experience.
it was our first time at AOC and we enjoyed it very much! food was delicious! we’ll be back
Terrible service. $72 for a chicken??? Wine glasses were empty all night. Server was absent. The reputation of the restaurant did not match the experience.
Left feeling like I put something fresh and good into my system!! Great for family style!! The polenta is delicious
Always love going to AOC. Never disappoints.
We had an excellent meal at AOC. The food was unusual but very well executed. Our server was very good and advised us well in terms of selecting our meal. We would definitely come back again.
I went with my friends for lunch and the food were ok. Staffs were amazing. We set inside rather than patio area where noise level is very high.
I would recommend for local ambiance rather than special occasion.
Really enjoyed the food here, very flavorful and delicious. Super cute garden area outside. Came for dinner, can't wait to try brunch :)
First time here. Loved it. A very pretty and warm space. Everything was absolutely delicious and the small plates, sharing thing was really fun.
Looking forward to next time.
Great vibe. Pretty ambiance. Yummy food. Good service. I’ll be going back for sure!!!
Always a perfect meal - not too fussy - just excellent food and service. A great meal our with friends
Another great meal with two of us sharing six different small plates. Our "Which one do you want more of?" was the chicken liver on toast thing. Our "Which one was your favorite?" was the pork meatloaf with the hearty toast. Excellent value too, will definitely be back.
Great cocktails and food was wonderful.
It is a gorgeous restaurant. Great food and such excellent service. One of my favorite places.
Food was delicious! We had the french toast and aoc brioche egg sandwich. Both were exceptional!
Everything was amazing! The food, the staff and the setting were all exceptional! Loved every minute of our time at AOC. Can't wait for the next time.
Beautiful location that could easily coast on ambiance, but does great food. Lots of classics done in a way that is interesting instead of tired.
AOC ALWAYS hits the mark, total bullseye. Between the food, service and atmosphere, we have NEVER gone wrong here, love it for both lunch and dinner!
For a set menu, the food came to us at different times. Food quality was mediocre at best! For $140 a person and NYE I expected much better food and service. Very disappointing.
One of the Best Restaurants in LA! I have lived in LA for 40 years and was truly pleased!!
Perfect ambiance and fantastic food!
I've lived in L.A. all my life and finally made time to go to AOC. What a wonderful experience -- the service, ambiance, food and wine -- everything was spectacular. Will definitely be back!
Not only was the food DELICIOUS but the minute we walked in we were greeted with smiles and a beautiful atmosphere. This meal came at the end of a week of restricted dieting and excercise - iot was well worth the calories. YUM! Wish I lived in LA so I could go back soon.
Additionally, our waiter was incredibly attentive and kind (not the typical way to describe a server but she exhibited such a kind demeanor that it translated into an incredible level of comfort and ease). The hostess came over to chat and appeared to be genuinely engaged - not a forced conversation - this is not a common experience. We truly loved every aspect of this restaurant!
Great ambience. Frank, our bartender, made incredible drinks and recommendations. The food was delicious and perfect for sharing.
Superb dining experience, amazing food, top-notch service -- great ambiance. One of our favorite restaurants in LA
First time and definitely not the last. Brunch and ambiance was great the service not so great but will be back.
We had such an amazing experience. The food was delicious. Our server was quite knowledgeable and make sure we made good choices.
Christmas Eve dinner at AOC was phenomenal. Best Christmas Eve dinner ever! Our family decided to head out instead of cooking at home this holiday, and what a delightful treat. I’d been to AOC a several times but always for brunch or lunch so this was my first time for dinner.
The patio (which is mostly enclosed and perfectly comfortable, even on a really cold night) is enchanting and cozy, making for a relaxing feel with easy conversation. So many trendy restaurants now seem to want the high energy vibe created by cement floors and horrible acoustics, rendering conversation impossible. Not so with AOC. It feels more like a Mediterranean villa.
There were four of us, which worked well because we were able to order an array of small plates/tapas which is how everything is served. Warning: all portions are quite small and are meant to be shared, so you’ll only get a couple of bites of each if sharing among 4 people. That suited us fine since we liked sampling a variety of dishes.
We started with the Farmers plate, which contained a variety of roasted veges, grilled toast, burrata and hummus. Also ordered a salad of beets and persimmons. Then came our “main” and side dishes, of which my favorite was the market fish (sea bass), perfectly char grilled, along with several vegetable side dishes. The only slightly disappointing dish was the halibut, which IMHO had too much tomato sauce smothering it. Do not miss ordering the winter squash, fennel, goat cheese and pomegranate side dish. I’ll be dreaming of this for many weeks. Lastly, dessert: the absolute must order is the butterscotch pot de creme. No one does this better than AOC, and I’d recommend ordering one for every two people in your group. It’s by far the standout dessert.
We all agreed that an early Christmas Eve dinner at AOC will be an annual tradition although I do plan to return many times before then.
Always great! One of our favorites!
We recommend AOC to everyone and have many repeat guests! My personal favorite is the Farmer's Plate and I can never NOT order it! Incredibly attentive service, and innovative, delicious food!
