Antonia's Ratings and Reviews
Great food with plenty of variety for all tastes. We ate here for lunch on our last visit to KW a year ago.We made a note to have dinner at Antonia's this year and it did not disappoint. I had the zuppa di pesce and my wife had the grouper dijonnaise special. Both were were excellent as was the service. Nice wine list. A repeater!!
I didn't expect any restaurant on Duval to be this good. We had calamari, mussels and escargot for appetizers and all were seasoned perfectly and cooked just right. Home made pastas were tender and paired with delicious sauces like Key West Pink Shrimp, seafood in a vodka cream sauce that was light and flavorful, and clams in white sauce. To close, we shared a key lime pie that was the real deal -- tart and sweet, light and melt in your mouth. Service was also phenomenal.
We enjoyed dinner here on a recent quick getaway to Key West...service was attentive and our meal was quite good
My husband had pasta with Bolognese sauce and I had the grouper which was excellent! The best part of the meal though was the key lime pie ~ oh my!
The pasta was fresh and superb. The food overall was excellent and well priced from fish to meat. The ambiance is good and perhaps a little higher end than most of Key West but the dress is casual. Highly recommend with no negatives. One of the best in Key West.
To the Management at Antonia’s:
We had delicious food at your restaurant on Sat evening, Jan 27, 2018. We made a reservation for 745pm. There were 4 in our party. Unfortunately, the area in which we were seated was so tight that it ruined our evening. It was impossible to hold a conversation; it was very loud! We wish we had a dollar for every bang to our chairs as wait staff attempted to maneuver around our table! We simply could not enjoy ourselves!
Our second visit in the past year was every bit as enjoyable as the first. Delicious fresh yellowtail and black grouper. Tender gnocchi. Excellent heirloom tomato caprese and Caesar salad. Fine selection of wines, many from Italy. Just about perfect in every way.
Server was struggling. Not sure if dbl seated or off night. Which started night off poorly. Wife ordered filthy Martini. Wasn't close. Started back talking to wife when she asked for more olive juice. Took forever for things to come out. Wives endive salad had no dressing. Wife's lasagna was cold in center had 2lbs of cheese on it. Here evening and experience not good. Mine was not either. My food was just food everyday ceaser, Bolognese needed more seasoning. Was just to busy to loud and frustrating. Had a great experience the previous yr. Hence why we came back. Not sure if we will next year.
We visited Key West for 5 nights we tried this restaurant the 1st night just becasue we were walking by and went back again for our last night on vacation! Ate at the bar and enjoyed both the service of TK behind the bar and the other diners at the bar - all so very nice and service was impeccable.
Did not have a good first experience with this restaurant. We arrived early, and although they had several tables open, they would not seat us and sent us away for 45 minutes. Upon returning, the open tables were STILL open. After we were seated and the waiter arrived, I asked for the restaurant's gluten-free options. He said, and I quote: "We don't really have any. All we can do for you is give you some fish and veggies." This restaurant needs to become more customer-focused, both in attitude and in menu options.
We arrived for lunch and waited literally 15 mins to be seated as they were very short staffed this particular day and not expecting a busy lunch even though, it was chilly and rainy outside. It took almost 45 mins to get any food or wine as only 2 staff were managing the whole place but all was not lost...We were trying to go to a later movie and were in no rush. The wine list is quite good with lots of not too pricey, options and the lunch menu adequate. We got the Cioppino or Zuppo de Pesce and a frittata which was a really a flat omelet [not great] The fish soup was fantastic though with lots of heat and perfectly cooked shellfish and fish for the weather outside, the toast was just okay. Since everything took so long, whilst phones went unanswered and walk ins were turned away, we had time to observe the interior which needs a serious revamp. Picture frames askew and dusty, The walls during the day expose the long overdue cleaning the place needs. We would go back and sit at the bar next time for happy hour as its great for a quick bite
Antonia's had a New Year's Ev4 course pre-fix dinner. It was excellent. The options were excellent. I had the lobster bisque, duck with puff pastry, filet Mignon and dessert. All were delicious. The waiter was really good and was super friendly, professional and on top of everything. It was a rare treat in Key West to have good food, good service, and great atmosphere all at once. I will be back with my family.
The food & service was, as always, delightful.
They seem to have crowded in some extra tables. We were, literally, sitting with the people at the next two top. Who also turned out to be local. We were okay, but in order for the waiter to get to the corner table, next to our new friends, the Currys, he had to stand on tip toe & squeeze. At one point, the gentleman at the corner two top, got up for a moment & when he tried to squeeze/jump over to his table, he fell into Patrick.
I suggest they remove at least 2 tables or the large table near the front door.
We had not been here in years and it was as we remembered. Service was good but a bit slow and inattentive. My pasta dish had so much garlic it was inedible but everyone else enjoyed their food. The restaurant took it off our bill but bc the waiter failed to check in on us, I didn’t have time to order another dish.
This is the second Christmas day dinner we have had at Antonia's. I think we have started a tradition that I am very happy with. It has always been delicious and the service was absolutely excellent . Our server was delightful! It was very very busy since it was Christmas Day and a little noisy. That was to be expected. We had a wonderful time and a wonderful meal. We will be going back for meals other than Christmas Day!!
