Antonette's East Hills Ratings and Reviews
Excellent food and service. Baked clams were especially delicious. We arrived early before most patrons. Aside from a slightly damp-basement-musty smell, probably due to a recent leak-related issue, the restaurant was welcoming and the smell of good food took over. Desserts were just decent but this restaurant exceeded my expectations for good food overall.
Considering the fact that the restaurant was not busy when we arrived (only 2 other tables were occupied), the service was less than we are accustomed to.
I had to ask to have my water glass re-filled and my husband's vegetables were not served with his entree.
Food was good, service was disappointing. May give it another try.
The food is good; but, watch out for their exorbitantly priced specials, which are recited by the server without prices being divulged. The average price of an entree here is about $24.95. Knowing that, one person in our party ordered a veal chop; and, we were astounded when we received the bill, charging $55.95 for a veal chop in a restaurant where the average meal is approximately $24.95. When we complained to the owner, he compared the price of the veal chop to a restaurant that is much higher priced for its non specials, trying to justify the exorbitant price. If a restaurant is going to charge prices for specials, which are more than twice what their average entree costs, they should inform diners. We are not returning.
My wife & I love this place. We’ve dined here many times. The food is always delicious and the music scene is vibrant & fun. The drinks are excellent. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Jimmy, the owner, either greets us when we arrive or stops by our table to say hello and to see that we are happy. I have recommended Antoinette’s to my family & friends.
We didn’t know that there was a live band when we were seated at our table. We ordered drinks and the band came on. They were really loud and not that good. We wanted to talk but we couldn’t hear each other. We finished our drinks and left without having dinner.
I just absolutely love Antonettes. I can't even believe anyone in the world would write a negative review about this place. We had our moms bday party upstairs there last year and they couldn't be more accommodating. Very friendly. Very willing to work with us and any unusual requests we had. So we just went back for dinner last week. The food is absolutely delicious. From the Italian staples to their original dishes, everything is just wonderful. And the help is very friendly as well. The waitress was very patient with us and even with my young daughters. The owner came to our table to apologize for whatever noise the party next to us was making (which wasn't bad at all) and even brought us a complimentary bottle of wine. I love antonettes. If I didn't live in melville I think I'd be there weekly. Looking forward to my next excuse to be able to eat there. Thank you antonettes for a great dinner and a great time.
Antonette's truly lives up to its promise to treat the dining guest like family. Expect friendly and at times, personalized service from the mixologist, Frank, to a warm greeting from Jim, the owner. On that particular evening, Eartley West and friends delighted us with well loved music and musicianship. It was definitely a wonderful night out.
Server, Samantha, was professional, patient and efficient; she was attentive from making sure our glasses were full and having fresh baked bread. Her caring to give us 100% customer satisfaction, made our delicious meal, even better. Will be back, with such great service and food. Keep up the good customer care.
I don't know where the negativity comes from but we were pleased with every part of our meal. Everyone treats us like they known us for our lifetime and it was our first time here. The food was delicious and reasonable price for the portions and very tasty! I will be returning
Service was slow....took a long time to get main course. Food was good ..not great. While the veal (three of us ordered it) was not tough, it was not the most tender either. Portion size was ok...certainly not small but not large either. Would not rush back to this restaurant.
Very good food! One member of our party had a birthday and they tastefully celebrated, and in many ways made a big deal without embarrassing her. Food was incredible! Lasagna would have fed our entire table.... but of course we all ordered entrees, so I can say the all dishes were phenomenal. It was very loud, my only complaint, but there were so many large parties it couldn't be helped. Thankfully they have carpeting and other noise abatement furnishings to help some. Great place!
