Antonette's Classico is an intimate Italian restaurant conveniently located in Rockville Center. Try authentic dishes like white clam souse, stuffed mushrooms, mozzarella in carazzo, chicken cuccinetto and a variety of fresh salads and pasta dishes. Antonette's classic serves hearty portions of foods that are difficult to find anywhere outside of Italy.
Enjoy freshly baked bread served with homemade caponata and order a drink from the fully stocked bar while you wait for your food. The staff at Antonette's Classico is friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. If you need recommendations or have any requests, the team is more than capable of catering to your needs. The dining area is cozy and perfect for a romantic evening or an intimate dinner with family or friends.
Needs updating. Dark curtains; dingy. Circa 1989. Small. Staff attentive but place needs an overhaul.
Everything was great, food ,drinks ,service.....even a Valentine's day band...
Very small restaurant. It was a one man show on a Saturday night, he did everything from bartender to waiter to busboy to host. Only help he had was in the kitchen. If you have extra time to spare the food is actually pretty good. The veal chop was great the stuffed mushrooms special was really good too. Do yourself a favor skip the baked clams. First time going I'd go back again.
Small neighborhood restaurant. Quaint and romantic.
Tables are situated close together. The restaurant is showing some wear and tear, could use some refurbishing.
Having said that, our food and the service was very good.
Really wanted to give this place a shot since it had such positive reviews. Our experience was not to be on Christmas eve and unfortunately we had to walk out and seek a holiday dinner seating elsewhere.
We arrived at our 7pm reservation time and we surprised at how tiny the place actually is, maybe 20 tables at most. Regardless of specifics, there were 2 male kids acting as waiters, no bus boy clearing tables and an older man acting as owner, host, maitre d, waiter, bartender and who knows what else. We waited 15 minutes unattended at the 3 seat bar and saw and heard all we needed before we decided to go elsewhere.
Hot tip: if taking reservations on a holiday, you better have staff working that can handle and accomodate customers.
Food: AMAZING Decor: AMAZING Staff: THE BEST PEOPLE EVER
One of my favorite little-known spots in LI. Once you walk thru those doors, you are greater by on2 of two older gentleman, smiles across there face. The interaction with the guests is impeccable, definitely feels like you're home (our your Italian grandparent's home when the family is over).
we were celebrating 2 birthdays and an anniversary and were very disappointed in the empty atmosphere and in some of the food.Maitre de was very attentive at first and then deserted us. When a restaurant was not busy one would suspect the food not to be fresh. No one came in from 7:00 to 9:15.
Waitstaff are very friendly and the food is very delicious. A terrific choice for those who like quiet dining
I usually eat at Antonette's on Sunday afternoons. I went on a Thursday evening...and experienced the same friendly and very enjoyable service as usual.
I really enjoyed the food and would happily return. The only negative is that the restaurant is a bit small. That does make it cozy and warm, but it also puts you in close proximity to other tables. While the people sitting next to us were very friendly, I would have preferred that the hostess would consider separating people better before seating them so close to each other.
had a reservation and was seated at a booth table with ripped and scratched chairs. Waiter was rude when I was asking for him a certain question about how the veal chop was prepared ,even though he never answered my question but kept repeating what the ingredients were. Finally the 3rd time he said " for the 3rd time" when I asked him politely. He finally got the point when the food came and my husband said "Oh this is the dish you told us about 3 times" After that he changed his attitude. Never ordered the veal because I couldn't get an answer, so ordered the chicken which was good, but the pasta was bland. Couldn't wait to leave, will not be back. Da Ugo was my favorite restaurant, known for good service and good food. Too bad they closed.
I had the special which was very good. Pork chops stuff with Italian ham and cheese. Menu looked ordinary but everyone seemed to like the meal. I can't put my finger on it but the place was lacking something.
Definitely a neighborhood gem!! Extremely romantic with incredible food and attentive service. Went with friends on a Thursday night to stay away from weekend crowd. Perfect decision. Must try the Orange Salad. Very refreshing and light. Had the Cuccinetto which I could eat every night!! Extremely moist and the sauce is addicting. I could eat it with anything every single meal. vegetables were served family style and were cooked to perfection. Very fresh and colorful. It was just a perfect evening with friends. The courses were well paced, service was attentive and the best part was we used the $25 off coupon. The portions are large so we did not have dessert. Next time I'm skipping lunch so there's room. We all will be back.
The food was cold and tasteless. The stuffed artichoke was cold in the middle like it had been frozen and microwaved... The rest of the food was tasteless, everything needed salt pepper and cheese to make it palatable. The service was very slow, although the waiter was generally apologetic.. Definitely pass.
Excellent meal as always, however, I ordered the stuffed artichoke appetizer for the second time, and it was half the size as last time! Still a great meal (even though my favorite waiter wasn't there).
