About Anton & Michel Restaurant
Since 1980, Anton & Michel has consistently maintained an award-winning reputation for true excellence in the art of fine dining. Anton & Michel Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We had eaten here several times for dinner and decided on lunch here one time. The french onion soup was very good and the salads were fresh and substantial.
The service is always top notch and the ambiance allows for a quiet, relaxing, non-rushed dining experience. Their wines by the glass are a good value and the lunch menu allows for a wide selection of tastes. Sitting by the windows overlooking the courtyard fountains just adds to the relaxing atmosphere.
The restaurant is a classic with excellent service, good food, and an ambiance that allows for an unhurried evening allowing for relaxed conversation. Our service was excellent. We often have the rack of lamb when visiting this restaurant. This one evening the rack came to the table more than medium rare and we mentioned it and the waiter agreed. without hesitation a new rack of lamb was put in the oven.
the wine selection is large (and pricey), but we have always been matched with a good bottle with our dinner and the selections have never disappointed.
Anton and Michels provided us an exceptional evening dining during our honeymoon! The atmosphere was beyond expectation as we found ourselves seated in front of large windows overlooking a scenic 'pond'. The service and kindness of the maitre de, Luiz, on a rainy evening to the waiter, Tahah, meeting our every need before being asked added to the quality of our evening. We enjoyed an amazing butternut ravioli as a starter that had a mild sauce, allowing us to fully taste the ravioli, salad that consisted of fresh tasting ingredients, a duck and salmon entree with sauces so light that accentuated the natural flavors of the selected course. We are eagerly anticipating our next visit!
The food was impeccable and the service was unobtrusive and stellar. I must highlight Luiz Ferreira's attention to every detail made this a truly noteworthy experience. I usually do not undertake restaurant reviews, but Anton Michel was exceptional by all measures and I am appreciative of the experience. This is the way a restaurant should be run and it was truly impressive. Thank you!
We were seated outdoors on the patio near the fire pit. Carmel is a very dog friendly town and most restaurants make decent accommodations. However, I was surprised that patio had no heating lamps - - none! Well we did dress warmly since it was Dec 30th. So our evening was quiet, eating outside, on the patio with our dog. Food was very good, but not as I would have expected, but worth the visit. Our waiter was very pleasant and attentive. He was also very knowledgeable of the food and the wine, which always makes the dinning experience more pleasurable.
An outstanding experience. My wife and I come here every time we visit the Monterrey / Carmel area (We live in San Jose). This is our favorite restaurant there. It never disappoints.
Every time we visited we experienced exceptional service, great ambiance and superb food. This is a great place for a date or for a family. Making a reservation is highly recommended as this gem gets quite busy almost any day of the week. Enjoy!
We had Christmas dinner at the restaurant. This locale reminds me of an updated version of the fancy restaurants where my parents spent special occasions. No real culinary risks here, offering the standards but with a more interesting presentation of the main protein and vegetables (unless you count the rice accompanying the salmon dish presented in the shape of a perfect mold). I had the Alaskan Halibut with vegetables. Our table ordered the last piece very early into the dinner hour. It tasted delicious and was one of the few menu items that wasn't as old school as the rest of the offerings. My sister had a lobster crab cocktail starter with a light horseradish sauce. Also good. Mostly the restaurant was a nice space to spend time with family on a holiday when most restaurants are closed.
Anton and Michel is in the top 5 of all of the restaurants where I've ever eaten. The service (Tiffany) was outstanding: attentive but not overbearing. The food was amazing. The ambience was wonderful. I will definitely return the next time I am in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
This is always a delight place to have dinner. Food is wonderful. We enjoy our wait staff every time we go to A & M.
I’m not a fan of table side cooking. The table across from us had table side cooking and I smelled like there food the rest of the evening. It’s just to close of a space to do this at A & M.
Our server, Luiz Ferreira had a passion to provide his customers with outstanding service 👍👍👍 My whole family of 3 people from Fresno will certainly dine his restaurant again when we visit Carmel next time👌😇
We highly recommend this restaurant due to their excellent customer service as we dined in this restaurant 2 days in a row🤗🤩
Thanksgiving dinner with old friends. We drank a little cocktail, ate, had a little wine and a little more wine. Food and service was superb! We especially liked that we could sit and relax and talk and not be rushed. Thanks for a lovely night!
Booked for 50th anniversary and 74th birthday but completely ignored even though mentioned when making reservation and again when we arrived we were very disappointed we drove 400 miles expecting more. May be our last time there.
The service and quality of food were very good, but overall, the ambiance felt dated, especially for such a nice restaurant in a busy vacation spot. The lighting and ambiance was more akin to a fine dining cafeteria. One minor, but demonstrable, detail was the bar ware, which seemed like it came from a caterer’s collection. For drinks/wine at $10-12 a glass, this seemed off. Again, the service and attention were wonderful and everyone was pleasant and welcoming, but it wasn’t the special evening out we had originally planned.
