Anton and Michel is now open INDOORS and OUTDOORS at the COURT of the FOUNTAINS.
LUNCH: 11:30 AM – 4:00 PM / DINNER: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
Reservations are highly recommended.

Since 1980, Anton and Michel has consistently maintained an award-winning reputation for true excellence in the art of fine dining. A complete interior remodel was recently completed features handset stonework throughout the restaurant. The floor to ceiling windows offer breathtaking views of the Court of the Fountains. Zagat Survey calls it: Carmel’s long-standing paean to graciousness in dining out. Along with updated and contemporary changes to the menus, ultimate table side service flambé desserts remain. As quoted in the Wine Spectator, Anton and Michel is “probably the best dining experience in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea”.

                                                We came to A & M years ago and thought we’d come back. Poor service. Waited 20 min for some sparkling water. 40 min for an appetizer. Then she served the main while we’re still eating the appetizer. Mediocre food. Fine dining restaurants know how to time courses. Dessert was good. We will not be back. So many other good food options in Carmel.

                                                We were celebrating our 53rd anniversary and chose to eat here as it has been uniformly excellent in the past. They continued to impress with every detail being superlative. In comparison, we ate at a nearby Michelin starred restaurant the night before for nearly three times the cost. That meal consisting of several small courses was okay/interesting but with not a single dish worth making an entire entree out of. I also did a $95 wine pairing which consisted entirely of never heard of wineries with mostly obscure varietals that were consistently blah. In comparison, I had a glass of Pinot Noir from Domaine Drouhin, for 1/4 the cost of the pairing (but the same total volume), at Anton & Michel that was superb. If you want a superb meal and drinks, you will never go wrong with the elegant Anton & Michel. PS - In case you’re wondering, I had the duck breast and my wife a salmon special. We shared the best crab cake we have ever had as an appetizer.

                                                Very nice food in an absolutely delightful outdoor setting around a pool. The service was friendly and thoughtful, it's relaxing and luxurious without being overly pricey. Nice wine list, lovely menu. This was a birthday lunch, and my guest was delighted.

                                                A gem in Carmel. Drove two hours to have lunch since highly recommended by friends. Everything is great about this restaurant—from the hosts (who happens to own the place), waitstaff, ambiance and food. Where in Carmel can you get great food at such reasonable prices. I highly recommend this place! Can’t wait to be back.
