Anton and Michel is now open INDOORS and OUTDOORS at the COURT of the FOUNTAINS.
LUNCH: 11:30 AM – 4:00 PM / DINNER: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
Reservations are highly recommended.

Since 1980, Anton and Michel has consistently maintained an award-winning reputation for true excellence in the art of fine dining. A complete interior remodel was recently completed features handset stonework throughout the restaurant. The floor to ceiling windows offer breathtaking views of the Court of the Fountains. Zagat Survey calls it: Carmel’s long-standing paean to graciousness in dining out. Along with updated and contemporary changes to the menus, ultimate table side service flambé desserts remain. As quoted in the Wine Spectator, Anton and Michel is “probably the best dining experience in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea”.

                                                The food is delicious and the ambience is fantastic. One of our favorite restaurants in Carmel. However, this time we were extremely surprised to arrive a bit before our reservation time and be told to wait. (We arrived at 12:55 for a 1pm reservation). The table had not been set up and we were told they were on a service rush. We had out of town guests and it was embarrassing.

                                                We sat outside, by the fountain, and the ambience was excellent, with heaters to maintain a good temperature. The food was fantastic - we ate the lamb, the steak, and a risotto. As dessert, creme brulée, lemon, and chocolate pies were all great. The waiter Marco, and the chef Fernando, who came to our table, were extremely kind and attentious.

                                                I dine at Anton and Michel quite often for both lunch and dinner. It is superb from the moment I walk in! I cannot say enough good things about the ambiance, service, food quaility and preparation!

                                                Anton & Michel is my go-to choice in Carmel. Z warmly greets guests, the ambience is relaxed and cordial, service is professional, friendly and attentive, and the food, consistent, delicious, varied, and simply exceptional. Several friends have accompanied me to meals here and all of us feel it is truly the best!!!

                                                Beautiful setting and delicious dinner. The beet salad and rack of lamb were excellent. They make you feel welcome and special. It’s also a lovely spot for lunch outside by the fountain.

                                                A perfect dining experience. The service was gracious and accommodating, the venue was beautiful and welcoming, and the food was truly perfection. The Brussels stouts and potatoes (yes potatoes!) were a highlight as well as the short ribs. A memorable meal. Highly recommend.
