Anton & Michel Restaurant
Perfect dining experience every visit!
Best restaurant in town, great cuisine and preparation, top service, wonderful ambiance.
Cant't wait to return? T. Byrnes
Food was fantastic and priced as expected. My only grievance is that we received some grief from our server for bringing in outside wine. I checked in advance if they allowed it and they did. They didn’t have either bottle on their list. Considering one was a 2007 Harlan, I thought they would at least decant it for the corkage paid but no. I still recommend the restaurant highly. I have been going occasionally since the late 80’s.
We had such a lovely birthday celebration for my husband at Anton & Michel! Everything about the evening was perfect, and I do not throw that accolade around easily. The food was delicious (the duck pate appetizer was AMAZING!), the service was gracious and the setting was beautiful. Thank you Anton & Michel, we will definitely return the next time we are in Carmel!
Beautiful restaurant! Food was excellent and so was the service!
Very nice food, there was definitely attention to detail in the preparation and presentation of the dishes. The service was fantastic, with an incredibly friendly and helpful waiter!
The food is all perfectly prepared-best duck my niece has ever eaten; short ribs to die for and great lamb. I had the flakiest, most mouth watering shrimp spring roll I have ever tasted and niece #2 loved, loved the beet salad-to say nothing of the amazingly rich but not too thick lobster bisque. It is also worth coming just for the table side flaming desserts! This is a party and a memorable evening every time.
Delicious food, great service, classically served. Would highly recommend and go back out.
The table side preparation of the Caesar Salad, rack of lamb and Bananas Foster is an almost lost art.
Our Go To for very special occasions
We requested a quiet table. We were seated in a corner near a window. It was freezing. We asked twice if they could turn up the heat. Absolutely no change. The area in which we were seated was narrow and tables were very close together. Several tables that were seated in that area had patrons who were very loud for a fine dining restaurant. There was no escaping it. So not quiet at all. We ordered rack of lamb which was cooked to perfection, but the rest of the food was not. The potatoes on one plate were burnt to a crisp and the vegetables were luke warm. Usually we have dessert. We did not this time. Could not get out of their fast enough because of the cold and the three loud tables. Our waiter was good with respect to service, but obviously never requested the heat to be increased or was ignored by management. We have been here in the past with excellent service, atmosphere, and patrons who enjoyed dining instead of bombasting those around them. Have always recommended this place in the past, but not so sure we would do so anymore.
Excellent restaurant with attentive service and wonderful food. Presentation of food was excellent. Highly recommend . . . . . . . You won’t be disappointed
Wonderful food, great ambience, excellent attentive but not hovering service. Luis was delightful, just as other reviewers had noted.
Everything was excellent, except noise, but I guess nothing to be done.
Staff were very attentive. Food good. Appreciate Luis giving us table despite opentable did not have one.
Very nice and welcoming staff. Delicious food. I took my wife there for Valentines Day and she loved everything, specially the outside view.
This was our first visit to Anton & Michel’s. The service was immediate and friendly and the food was excellent. We would definitely return.
Even though the "Classic 3 Course" dinner has increased in cost over the years it's still a good value and a GREAT dinner. Our server, Tiffany, was excellent and did a fine job preparing, carving, and assembling each course tableside.
Great spot for dinner and appetizers! Overall presentation was great! Good wine selection.
By far the best service and food that we had during our week long stay...
Up-scale restaurant. Great service. Great food. Great for special occasions.
This is one of our favorite full-service restaurants in all the world. We are always taken care of a dining experience at Anton and Michels you can count on to be one of the very best!
Food was delicious. Service a bit underwhelming for such a fine dining restaurant
Great food & surroundings. Every seat was taken, so noise level was high. Service was slower than we expected. Overall a pleasant experience.
Wonderful staff and servers; friendly
The food was cold.
Always plan a dinner when in Carmel at Anton and Michel. It's a beautiful restaurant in a unique setting but the food is definitely what draws us back. Every bite was delicious!
We were seated at the last table next to an exit door with a view of the fountain which was nice but after a while there was a cold draft which made her uncomfortable and they had to move us into an interior room next to the fire. Overall the experience was good but not up to what we paid.
Sunset dinner includes soup or salad, entree and dessert. Quality of food is excellent, presentation is appealing, wine list offers a wide variety, and service is outstanding. Our server, Rene, and his assistant were over the top!
First time visit and was very satisfied. The reception and serving staff were friendly and attentive. Menu and food quality was very good. Will return.
Good service, ok lamb chops. We were there 5 to 5:45 pm
An amazing evening! From the moment we walked in the door we had absolutely spectacular service. Glorious food. Since our visit i have told 5 or 6 couples!!
The best part about the night was the host. He was amazing and very accommodating more so than our waiter. My mom is disabled and he made every effort to help. He also checked on us during the meal. We asked for a steak to have a crust and the waiter said they didn’t do that. The cut was rather thin for a filet. It was ok but not fantastic for the price we paid. We also had the bananas foster. Maybe worth $20 but not 30. I was hoping for elegance and being cared for for the $170 I spent. I will not go back. I didn’t see anything on the menu that said local or organic either.
Excellent meal! Mushroom soup was outstanding. Loved my halibut entree with fresh pineapple salsa...had just the right amount of heat. Maitre d' Luz(?) was very attentive, with spot-on wine recommendations.
This restaurant exceeded our expectations. It is definitely elegant but definitely not stuffy. I had salmon while my hubby had the pork tenderloin, both delicious. We ended with Bananas Foster, prepared with flare at the table. A beautiful restaurant, wonderful service and great food made for a special evening. The fact that it was our anniversary was acknowledged by the hostess when we arrived, by our server, and yet again when we left - well done, Anton & Michel!
25th wedding anniversary
Beautiful setting, excellent food, outstanding service. Anton & Michel has it all.
Meal was great! Service was great! It was just freezing in there so we were uncomfortable
There was a really loud guy behind us that was eating and drinking with his wife, and made friends with another table, and they were really loud. Other than that it was wonderful and quiet. But the loud guy really affected date vibes. Our server was really really really really cool and awesome, it was clear he loves the food and his job.
Food and service always exceptional. Our favorite spot in Carmel for a special evening.
