When we were first presented with the menu, my thought was that the dishes sounded like those on the menu of so many Italian restaurants in the area. However, the execution proved to be a cut above. I started with an argula beet salad that was quite filling - deceptively so, since the plate wasn't large, but the salad was heaped high and would easily be shareable. My husband enjoyed his Caesar salad. I had the shrimp scampi and he had linguine with white clam sauce - both very good and filling - so much so that we each took half home with us. We also shared a dense Belgian chocolate tart, which was so rich, served with homemade whipped cream - and again, took more than half of it home. The setting is lovely - they cater many parties here. It as a trifle noisy as there was a party in the main room, but it was only a bit noisy at intervals, not constantly. We would return here again.

We decided to try this restaurant because, having been there under different management, we remembered the magnificent view, beautiful dining room and hoped the food would be better than their predecessors. It wasn't! We were seated at the only table with no view, blocked by a wall jutting into the dining room. We ordered drinks but weren't offered menus or specials for almost 20 minutes. We were served a complimentary bruscetta made from olives and artichokes (mine had bits of olive pits in it - complaint ignored.) Selections on the menu were so limited that it was difficult to decide what to eat. I ordered the special appetizer, burrata cheese with arugula and proscuitto...it was delicious. My main course was an incredibly boring and tasteless chicken Toscana dish. Two of the members in my party liked their chicken scarpiello very much and the fourth member really disliked her swordfish, truthfully looked and tasted "poor." I would like to add that the beautiful dining room, after the sun went down, was very bright and, for those looking for romance, you might want a dimmer candlelit room. Dessert, and here I RAVE, was a chocolate, espresso mousse. Really divine, wish I hadn't had to share it. We were also offered a complimentary sparkling dinner wine. Because it's right in my local area and a beautiful restaurant, I might give it another chance, and would definitely ask for a table with a view next time.

Nice place in a beautiful old mansion. Food was OK, but some portions were a bit skimpy, others abundant . Was quiet as there was no event in the adjoining banquet hall.

Being Valentine's Day, there was a special pre-fixe menu with an nice selection for each of four courses. The ladies were each given a beautiful long-stemmed red rose and all received a glass of champagne. Compared to many restaurants, their $65 price was reasonable. Service was somewhat spotty, but overall it was a nice experience.

We had a nice family Valentine's Day dinner there this week. The staff were all very friendly and helpful; the food was great. The setting/décor was fantastic-tables by the fireplace, nice decorations. There was only one problem, but it was a very annoying problem-there was a man (we guessed it was the owner because no one else would be allowed to embarrass himself) who was playing (and sometimes singing with) an electronic keyboard with pre-programmed instrument tracks and absolutely butchering some real classic songs. The noise from this was constant and overbearing and definitely detracted from our enjoyment of our meal. If I walked in there again and saw this guy, I would quickly turn right around and leave. This was akin to (but worse than) elevator music or dentist office music. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, maybe this was just a one day special event or maybe some of their regular patrons enjoy this (their misfortune) but count us out.

We had a very romantic Vanlentine's Day dinner and were very pleased with the food and the ambiance. The service still needs work. We ate at the restaurant several months ago and thought the service needed improvement and still feel the same. Service was very slow even though they were not that busy. The food was excellent. The menu was pre fixed and great variety. We started with champagne. I had grilled shrimp and my husband had meatball for our appetizer. I chose the seafood chowder (I believe) which I enjoyed. My husband had the gnocchi which he also enjoyed. We both had the chicken cordon bleu. Again, we both enjoyed the meal. I ordered cheesecake for desert. My husband had a peanut butter chocolate cake which was the chef's recommendation. He really enjoyed it. We ended our meal with an after dinner drink.

Overall very good dinning experience . The dishes were plated very nicely , generous portions , and seasoned well. The restaurant /catering establishment is a hidden gem. In Westchester .The owner took us on a tour after dinner of the Southern style mansion with its sprawling staircase beautiful grounds and well decorated smaller party rooms . We enjoyed our experience .

Food was good, place was somewhat empty , the staff were very nice. Just to be nice they brought us a complementary dessert cocktail! A beautiful location but more like a fancy dining spot yet it was trattoria.
