They did not have reservation from open table food over cooked steaks otherwise ok. Empanadas we're very good presentation poor
Great! But when we arrived they said that they no longer are taking reservations via Open Table???
I always enjoy dinner and sangria there so decided to try the brunch, and it was just as great! Can't wait to go back and try the other entrees on the menu.
Highly recommend this food experience to all
Fresh ingredients, creative menu options and friendly service
Terrific food. Excellent service. Glad to have eaten here again.
Very interesting and delicious food with Latin roots. This is not "just a Mexican restaurant".
The location is good, the building is colorful, and service is prompt, polite, and respectful.
Will be back to try more dishes!
I loved it, our second visit. It was cozy, friendly and fun. Birthday flan was a serious treat!
I can summarize this real quick for you: our food was AMAZING and our service was one step above awful. If you want more detail, read on.
The service: really, really, reeeally slow. Not like "dining in Europe" slow, but like "15 minutes to get our water" slow Even the "fresh made guac" was brought out in a bowl at least 15 min after we ordered it. Our server was very nice, he was just not very attentive or personable. I'll spare you the rest of the details, just know that the entire meal went at about that pace.
Here is what we ate: guacamole- good but VERY limey. And chocked full of onions so if you like more avocado, skip it. Papusas- good but not great. Nothing overly special about them. Bacon wrapped shrimp- loved them! Pork enchiladas w/ yellow pepper jabenero sauce- AMAZING!!!! Absolutely delicious. I also had a white wine cocktail that was very boozy and delicious.
I would go back again. The place is super cute. Now that I know the food is amazing, I can mentally prepare myself for the potential of really slow service to get that food in my belly!
All three of us really liked our entrees. The flavors were rich. I have other things I want to try, so I'll be back.
In a word, FABULOUS!!! We made reservations last Friday to enjoy some Flamenco music which was very entertaining. Our meals were excellent but most enjoyable was the Cilantro Aioli with lightly toasted bread. It was good on everything and I especially enjoyed it on the chicken and the tortillas in the Mole Poblano. The Blackberry Sangria is simply marvelous. All in all, an experience worth repeating!!!
Delicious food with a unique menu, friendly service and fun vibe. When available go when they have live music.
been there before and enjoyed
soup used to come in a bowl now a cup just 50 cents less
my wife's meet dish must have been from day before, waitress said if u reorder it'll be the same batch
at that point waitress should have offered something to hold her over on the house. i already had my dinner
i only ordered tapas cause i remember from before the bowl of soup plus regular entree was too much
the group playing a picture of 5 musicians there were only two and they started close to 30 minutes late
Not good this time but i will go back
Fantastic as always! The wait staff was wonderful. Very attentive. The food, totally yummy!
Food was great. Service wonderful. Excellant wine!
Antigua has a very interesting menu featuring Mexican cuisine with a Latin flavor. The menu includes dishes form Central and South American countries. The food is very tasty and unique. Service is always very good.
First time there. They didn't recognize our open dining reservation and said they'd have to see if they had space even though we could see 4 open tables. Food was very good. Service was slow due to a large group there. The waitress made up for slow service by giving us a house special flan dessert for free.
Service was great and food was wonderful. Highly recommend!
One of my favorite restaurants! Food is excellent. Nancy our server was outstanding! Spanish guitar music beautiful. Casual, colorful atmosphere...if Flamenco dancer is there, it can get a little loud but so entertaining...felt like we were in Spain!
We were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, and he's a chef, so I try to take him to places he'll find interesting. The menu at Antigua is great, as many countries are represented. Our waiter was polite and friendly, and was kind enough to point out that the dish I ordered tends to be on the spicy side. I was fine with that and the dish (Lomo saltado) was excellent. My boyfriend had the ropa vieja and enjoyed it. The only minor disappointment was the guacamole. It was very heavy on lime juice. Everything else was very good, including my mojito!
We have been to Antigua several times. We take family and friends and always enjoy the drinks, food, dessert, staff and atmosphere. Ingredients are fresh and flavorful. Once we introduce someone to Antigua they end up going back.
Service was very slow. Took at least 30 minutes to get our food. Food was ok. Not great. Used a gift card that I knew I had $45 balance on and they said I had none. Very dissapointed.
We ordered from the Tour of Spain menu and everything was outstanding. Dont miss this limited time offering!
Wife and I came for our 19 yr anniversary. Excited about the guitar players, but it was a catch-22. Great players, but very loud. Hard to have a converstation.
Server was very good, he apologized that food took so long (even though we didn't think it did seeing how packed the place was).
I understand the rules of GF items and possible cross contamination, and it showed--food tasted excellent, but next day did not agree with me.
Overall, awesome place.
Good great as always, service still horrible. We didn't get our menues or drink ordered until 15 minutes after we were seated. Love music was a nice idea but too loud for dinner conversation. This is the 5 th time I have been here and if the service was as good as the food it would be a home run!
We dined here last evening for our Anniversary. As always, everything was excellent. One of our favorite places to dine.
Tapas/small plates was tasty. Food was well prepared and the portions were good. Service was on point. Overall a pleasant dining experience. Good work.
The food here is always good. Excellent flavors and well prepared, good menu. The dining room is open and no great shakes but pleasant enough. Cozy and welcome.
Oh my gosh! What a wonderful hidden little gem of a restaurant. They may only seat 75 people, but it is so cute inside, the staff is very friendly, and the food is absolutely wonderful. The pumpkin seed guacamole was very very tasty!
Very flavorful, quite happy with selections.
Could use some additional wait staff.
Taste made the wait worthwhile.
Everyone was pleased.
Antigua is Wisconsin best kept secret! - Great food!
Brunch was very good, but was disappointed that Chef Ramos' Father's Day special lure (via email) of Churrasco Argentino or a refreshing Ceviche weren't offered and server knew nothing about them. Dinner menu is more to our liking, especially the paella.
Was under whelmed everything ordered so better in Milwaukee. Had pasta was seasoned over priced. Small menu options Will not go back
This restaurant was excellent. The food is also exceptional and very different from the standard tacos, burritos and enchiladas. It's a good place to go if you want to experience something different. The staff was very courteous and polite. I will be returning very soon.
took an out of town friend there for dinner. she was very pleased and surprised by the food and ambiance of the place. the food was outstanding, service -great well priced. i will be going back more often. a must try in the area.
This was my first time at Antigua. I had driven by many times and always wanted to stop. I went with a friend and we did the small plate dining. The food was very good. Tried a the mezcal and lime margaritas and while they tasted very good, they could have used a little more tequila (they were pretty sweet) ;) I would definately recommend this place to friends. Everyone was very friendly and it wasn't super crowded and noisy (we could actually have a conversation).
Always a great meal with many gluten free items at reasonable prices.
Love this place. I live in Madison but bring my Milwaukee girlfriend here a couple times a year for a special cena!
Food is great as well as the service. Prices are quite reasonable.
Perhaps, the waiter was new (although we were not told that), but the slowness of service was surprising to us on a not-very-busy night at this otherwise pretty nice restaurant.
My wife and I love this restaurant. We only come once or twice per year but it is our annual anniversary destination. We always end up getting too much food because it is too hard to settle on one appetizer or even entrée. Try the Lomo saltado and the ropa viejo. You will not be disappointed!
