The neighborhood restaurant boasts a warm, and inviting atmosphere combined with simple Italian comfort food. Make yourself comfortable in one of the many booths, or enjoy the private dining space for celebrations and special occasions.
House specialties include fresh mozzarella, hand-crafted pasta, brick-oven pizza and house-made gelato. Signature dishes include Caprese, Margherita Pizza, Gnocchi Delicati, Classic Spaghetti Bolognese, Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Raguso and Specialty Risotto.
The food was very good. However, the portion of protein was very scarce for the amount of vegetables and price.
We tried this for the first time on our wedding anniversary after saying for years we should go in and give it a try. I should prefix this with saying my husband and I went to Italy in the fall and I studied there, so we're really picky about italian food, but everything was amazing. You can tell that the pasta, gnocchi, and cheeses are all really fresh. In addition to the food being great, the service was super attentive. The only negative was how close the tables were together. Being 7 months pregnant, it was hard to get out of my chair or put on my coat without hitting the person sitting behind or next to me. Overall, great experience. We'll be going back.
Great food and service!
Antico Posto is consistently good! I have always had great service. Every dish I have ordered has been delicious! It is always my go to restaurant with my family and friends!
Service was friendly and efficient. Knowledgeable server. Food was served timely, hot and tasty.
Food and service excellent
We were seated by the doorway and it was a bit close and very noisy. Service was only okay. There was minimal interaction. We had to ask for more water and more iced tea. Food was very good.
Ordered different meals than usual. Excellent experience as always.
You must ask to be seated in Memo’s section. He made our dining experience outstanding!
Lot of items on the menu to choose from which are really tasty. Good food. Good service.
This was our first visit to Antico Posto. It was an awful experience! It is very messy and cramped. The hostess's apparently have no dress code as they had on jeans, sneakers and tee shirts. I am totally aware those items are very much in style but that's not the look I am talking about. This did not have a cool vibe but rather an unkempt appearance with no effort used on looking professional for work. Our waitress was on the older side and also not professional looking. She reminded me of a server at an airport or Olive Garden. The food was nothing special at all. There were three of us dining that ordered different meals and none of us will return. It was a huge disappointment. Although the restaurant itself cannot choose its patrons, this place was full of customers eating spaghetti with their heads deep in the bowl, not an appetizing thing to watch. Before leaving the establishment, we used the restrooms. Bad idea. They too needed an overhaul.
We booked a lunch reservation to celebrate my mother’s birthday.
When we arrived our table was ready, the server was delightful, and the food was delicious!
We will definitely be back.
We went for lunch. Excellent food and excellent service.
I used to love this place, but the food was only mediocre this time. A bit pricey for the underwhelming meal. Service was great. No complaints there.
It was wonderful and we will become regulars now !!
Although I mentioned on my reservation, we were celebrating a birthday, the staff did not acknowledge it.
Very enjoyable dinner. Chicken meatballs were terrific!
Wonderful home made pasta!!! One of my very favorite places for lunch with friends!!! Always great service!!! 5*
Antico Posto is great for date night, business or meeting friends. Staff always makes you feel welcome and the service and food is always good.
Love this place. Dined here twice. Great staff and excellent food. Hope to return soon.
Our waitress was wonderful. Very attentive and pleasant. We had a great time.
Update 5/19/19, I emailed staff at a.p. & explained our terrible experience giving tips to cooking staffs etc. & the staff immed. replied with . . . Just an apology that we had a bad experience! ! No offer to make amends, ~. we now will never revisit a.p.
I sincerely can’t believe that was her only reply!
(My Previous review ): . The Free appetizer of oil, cheese & guardinera w/ bread was great, as were all the bus boys!
2). Our waiter Crystal was pleasant until I passed on alcohol. My daughter had s glass of Pinot. From then on she was curt with us and I felt like I was now in a surly diner! 3x she mentioned to me “ so, you don’t want any wine?” as she took our order! 3x!
)3. We split a Caesar salad and gluten free penne with fresh tomato & fresh mozzarella.
4). She didn’t seem to like our splitting the dishes but went along with it.
5). The food was so-so: Caesar had no depth of flavor, no anchovy base and was naked
of it’s dressing. Had to wait for more dressing.
Pasta had tomato purée sauce with a large chunk or two of cold raw tomatoes. And the fresh mozzarella chunks were cold too. All should be room temp on hot pasta.
The comped Birthday scoop of vanilla gelato
was the worst gelato we’ve ever had.
Super sweet with no body : like vanilla frosting.
Noise level was high as was the bustling non-relaxing atmosphere.
We won’t be running back to Antico Posto! Our birthday celebration was adversely affected ( ruined really), by the unpleasant attitude of our server Crystal and the sub-standard food. It’s noisy, crowded tables close together, God’s not that great & certainly not worth the prices!
Hostess was beyond rude
Food item ordered appeared to contain two different sauces —have been ordering this item for years and this has never happened
Service was slow
Antico Posto is the perfect place in Oakbrook for a “nicer” lunch. They pay attention to time restraints but don’t rush you in any way. The service is very professional and I have had consistently delicious meals here (for over 5 years)! Their bread/oil combination is a favorite, the Caesar salad is unique but always good and their desserts are yummy.
Food was great and the service was exceptional . Our server went out of her way to make our special occasion really special.
This is an Italian gem!
Worth the trip from Naperville
Great dinner and service. When my veal chop was not to my liking they brought another meal and comped the two deserts. Will continue to make this a regular restaurant for our dining.
Crowded for Mother's Day but the food and service never suffered. It was our first visit, won't be our last.
Waitress was very good, food was great, just keep up good work
Everything was 👍
Amazing service and great food! Thank you to Dominic for his amazing service and for getting our table ready!
Great place for good food.
Amazing place! I keep coming back. Very authentic Italian food. Go and try it, you will be glad you did!
Very good food and reasonably priced. Acceptable (not excellent) service.
Fairly loud, hampers conversation. But my only real complaint is they jam too many tables in there.
The food was quite bland. We felt the need to add Parmesan cheese and salt to most everything. The service was good and the restaurant is nice, but if the food isn't tasty unfortunately there isn't a reason to go back. And we typically love all lettuce entertain you restaurants.
Had another great experience at Antico Posto. We had an 8:00 PM reservation for dinner the night before Mother's Day. We arrived at 8:00 PM but our table wasn't ready. After about 20 minutes of waiting I inquired with the hostess and she said there were about 5 tables that had already paid their checks they were just waiting for them to leave. I understand how difficult that can be and since it was Mother's Day weekend I knew most people were out as a family. About 1 minute later the manager walked over to apologize for our wait. She put in an appetizer on the house to be at our table once we were sat. We waited about another 10 min and the table was ready. Our waitress was there right after we sat down to get everyone drinks. The appetizer came out a few minutes later. From there the dinner just got better. We loved everything we ordered particularly their house salad. Who knew a simple salad could be so great. Also, the gnocchi is to die for! Have always enjoyed this restaurant and with their great guest recovery I will continue to be a fan.
Service was great - very friendly staff - food was also delicious
We were celebrating mother’s day and I wrote that and they didn’t even acknowledge it. We were at a small table were people kept running in to me including staff. The food was good though and we typically enjoy going there.
Great food. Great service.
