We arrived on time for our reservation (7pm) to find the place dark and devoid of life! Sitting On the steps at the next building were two people we asked if they knew anything about the restaurant being closed. Well, they were the musicians that had been hired for the evening
To play at Antibes. The were making calls and checking the website for a clue of what had happened, to no avail. I felt very bad for them , we could find another place to eat, but they were out a nights pay. So, I have nothing good to say about this restaurant!

When we arrived at the restaurant, there was a note on the door stating that the restaurant was closed all week for maintenance. Someone came the door and shooed us away. We had to find another restaurant quickly as we had tickets for a show at 7 p.m. Since I went to the restaurant's website to check on the menu, there was no notice that it would not be open for the entire week.

Not enough wait staff working at all for a Saturday night! Service was a bit slow and the male waiter seemed irritated by having to wait on so many groups at once. Online menu does not match menu at the restaurant (prices, entree names, etc.), and menu at the restaurant did not give an accurate description of some of the items (ex: grilled jumbo shrimp appetizer is actually small cocktail shrimp). Would go back again for dinner, but not with more than two people.

There were two other people in the restaurant besides my friend and me and waitress wouldn't turn down the very loud distracting music. When we asked nicely she gave us an attitude. The water bottle had something floaty inside and we asked for fresh bottle and glasses and again, gave us an attitude. She didn't check on us much and we had get up ourselves to ask for the bill. Will never come back.

Highly recommend Antibes Bistro - delicious! Not busy on a Monday night but very well decorated, cozy, and hosted a live guitarist. Food was 10/10: the asparagus appetizer was spectacular, the branzino fresh and tasty, and the bread pudding delicious. Very home-y spot, great for a date or a low-key get together.

After hearing about and reading reviews on French restaurants in NYC, I decided that we should try Antibes Bistro. We've been to and enjoyed Matisse (NYC) ,Le Canard Enchaine (Kingston, NY) as well as others which may or may not have survived over the years. Without a doubt, the food here is very good. Notable dishes include the Seared Foie Gras, Roquefort & Poached Pear Salad, Guinness Braised Short Ribs, and the Coriander Crusted Salmon. The Short Ribs were a tiny bit too well done but the salmon was perfect at medium. service was very good but the Bistro was very warm and you could not feel the AC anywhere in the front of the restaurants. Towards the back and against the far wall, it was quite a different story. Menu is definitely very limited but what they do, they do well. Also serving French cuisine with a Mediterranean slant (tahini and Lamb Kufta inclusions on the menu) makes for a unique experience. Note though the beer selection is limited but even more so when they only had three options available (8 choices but alas 5 sold out)> Wine list was a little better but still a short list but thankfully cocktails/Whisky/Cognac/Calvados/Armagnac were nicely stocked. Also the bar area is definitely an option but please note that the Bistro is very small and the bar maybe can accommodate less than 10 people.

From a pricing/value perspective, Antibes is a little on the expensive side for a french restaurant in that section of NYC.

All in All, a very pleasant experience and we will be back .... Definitely recommended

Cozy neighborhood West Village French bistro with good food and warm atmosphere. Service was great. It's noisy but friendly.

This place was vacant. We were the only people there except for the flies. They ran out of coffee for brunch and several items on the menu. Food was below average but staff was really nice.

Didn't have a lot of things on menu. Service was horrible. Even though there was no one there!!food was good but not excellent.

The lamb was very good, but the risotto wasn't, at all. While the lamb had a really good soft meat, the rusotto tasted like rice on water.
Also, the waitress kept messing up our order, she was unable to remember the four dishes we ordered.

This Very unusual evening hosted 2 big celebratory groups - so Unusually LOUD and raucous - Not our wish/need - but staff Very helpful and accommodating; wine & food were good. It's a lovely place. Try for a more lucky evening!

The food portions are ridiculously small. We ordered the beet "salad" and, I kid you not, it came with the equivalent of ONE beet cut in pieces and ONE tiny segment of orange. For $13. And it didn't taste any differently than if I (or anyone, really) would prepare it at home. Never going there again.

It looks like a French provincial farmhouse - casual and rustic but candlelit and romantic. Food was delicious, but portions quite small ( which I like, but my dinner companions wanted more) - Lovely service - friendly and relaxed. Little live jazz was nice, but a bit loud for dinner conversation. I really enjoyed our evening and will return.

We chose Antibes Bistro as our post matinee dinner spot. We didn't know what traffic would be like after the show, so we made a later reservation just in case. Thankfully, they could seat us early before our scheduled reservation. It was a bit loud inside, so we chose the table on the small entry patio. The food was good and the service was great.

We booked a table for Feb 14th about a week before Valentines. There is an expected crowd and shuffle for the occasion at any restaurant, however, with a prefix menu it's expected that the food should be timely. The servers were very nice but we had to wait 30 minutes to place our order. They skipped the first course and brought us our appetizers along with the bottle of red we ordered. The red wine was cold....

My gripe was with the pricing and available options. Looking at their regular menu it would be approx $45-50 per person (not including drinks) if 3 courses were ordered and the selections were on the higher end. The V-Day special was $60/person and the selections were not as enticing.

The drinks were good and the food was well prepared, ableit lukewarm in some instances. Overall a nice little LES spot that I'd go back to and try cocktails and apps before committing to dinner.

We made a reservation and they had no record of it. A table was available, though, and we took it. We had a well-meaning but incompetent waitress. We waited 40 minutes after making our drink order to finally get it--partly because we had to keep changing the order. The bar was poorly stocked for a Saturday night, and was completely out of three of the four listed gins they supposedly carry. Our appetizers arrived before our drinks, and we had to be asked not to be rushed through our dinner. The wild mushroom risotto was not as described--few mushrooms and far too many incidental vegetables. Should have called it a primavera. It was also pretty flavorless, lacking in seasoning. The Branzino was quite good, but the overal dining experience was such a disappointment that I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Antibes Bistro is a lovely place to have a date. The ambiance is very romantic. Cocktails are decently priced. Food is great. Easy to get reservations. & it's right next to Spreadhouse coffee which a really cool spot to meet up with your date before heading to dinner.

I used to really like Antibes, but I did not feel welcomed this time around. It seems to have become a very "local" hangout, and the service staff were more interested in talking to and hanging out with their regulars than in taking care of us as guests. THe welcome was disorganized and luke warm, the service not particularly friendly or attentive, the food OK but rushed, and the music only so so and too loud. I doubt I will come back. There are other comparable places in the LES that are nicer to be at.

All liked entrees and desserts, especially with smaller portions which is fine. Jumbo shrimp seemed on the small size; should be no need to have to peel shrimp in order to consume.

Love this little French bistro. Food and service can't be beat. Looking forward to the next time.

Antibes is adorable and the food is incredibly delicious, however despite having a reservation we waited over an hour for our table. Then the food and even the drinks took exceptionally long to come and they got some of our orders wrong! I really wanted to love this place but ugh they need to get more organized.

It's a nice place (romantic), but they accommodated 2 very large parties (I mean large... Like 15 people each!) and the noise level was out of control. Not to mention they seemed so disorganized. But once it calmed down and those parties left it was a much nicer atmosphere.

This one-star review was almost a five-star review, before my date and I were asked to give up our table and finish our meal at the bar. We had decided to have an early dinner at 6pm because we didn't want to face the Saturday night rush. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and cocktails, the servers were charming, and the background music was perfect. We were in a fantastic mood, which totally made me not care that the bread pudding was a little on the bland side. Then, just as we were in mid-contemplation of an after-dinner walk toward the full moon, the person who seats people came to ask us to move to the bar. Though the restaurant was not full, she said that there was a family of four waiting for our table, and apparently their children were cranky. It was inappropriate, jarring, and anticlimactic to be asked to move the last few minutes of a really relaxing and intimate (and expensive) evening, but I agreed, and I immediately regretted it. So when the bartender asked us how we were doing, I replied that up until that moment we had been having a really lovely time, and since he asked, I felt compelled to let him know that I wasn't at all down with the idea that a decision had been made to displace a same-gender, mixed-race couple in favor of an upper class white heteronormative family of four. I then communicated my thoughts directly to the person who moved us, who responded defensively that she hadn't had any of those types of thoughts (more thoughtfulness would have helped) and it wasn't her intention to offend (it usually isn't) but that we had been sitting there for two hours, dot dot dot. I suggested that in the future she might let people know at the outset if their table has an expiration. This review would have been a four-star instead of one if she would have simply replied, "I'm sorry, my mistake," instead of reacting defensively after mishandling the situation in the first place.

My friends and I went here for dinner Saturday night. There were 6 of us and they were able to accommodate us all. We were sitting right next to the door which wasn't the most convenient spot but we made it work. The noise level was a bit loud making it very hard for all of us to talk with one another. Where we were sitting was a bit warm which was probably due to the fact we were sitting next to the entrance, the back of the restaurant was much cooler. The service wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. Our server was very polite and friendly it just took a long time for us to get drinks when we ordered them. Beers came out no problem but hard liquor drinks or wine took some time. The bar was empty, it appeared to be a matter of the waiter forgetting to put the order in. The food was excellent and everyone was really happy with what they had. We ordered five different entrees and they were all fantastic. If you're ok with louder music it's a great place to check out!

This restaurant was a good find. Frankly, I didn't even know it existed. They have antiques all over the restaurant and the drinks are very prohibitionish. Very cool find.

The food was good- we especially liked the roasted chicken - the short ribs were very good, just a little on the fatty side, but really flavorful. The dessert menu had some interesting choices and, although I don't remember the name, the one with the halvah "threads" was delicious and very different. Service was spotty - they were busy and greatly understaffed.

Found this lower eastside restaurant on a Google search for French good and read positive reviews. Would never have thought to find a super restaurant in that part of town! The main room is charming , with comforably-spaced tables. Menu had many moderately-priced choices. Our plates were elegantly presented, with interesting combinations of ingredients, and quite tasty. Wine and beer lists were also quite varied. Our only complaints were tepid tap water ( nicely served in a table carafe) and too loud music volume.

The portions were tiny and the food ranged from well prepared (asparagus) to bland (chicken under brick drowned in brown sauce) to inedible (shrimps).

The service was mediocre. One of the waiter was nice but not attentive with our table. Didn't feel welcome.
Food was not incredible. I felt that the $17.89 meal was nothing but some stupid marketing to make people come. The night before I went to the restaurant Lucien. Even though I paid much more the taste was there. The bread and butter they give you was so so. I was just a little bit disappointed.
However, the 3 stars I'm giving you are for the atmosphere. The place is cute and I like that it is the only restaurant on this street. We arrived at 9pm. It was dark outside but you could see the little lights from Delancey street.
Not sure I will give them another chance... too bad.

The Lower East side is not close to us, but with the name Antibes and great memories of the French Riviera, we had to try it. Are we glad we did! It is charming, friendly, delicious choices, very Southern France looking; exactly what we were looking for. The bar tender was very helpful, my drink was great, we cant wait to go back!

The manager of the restaurant thought it suitable to stand by our table and order supplies such as paper towel and perrier
she then thought it suitable to stand by our table and scream at the landlord about garbage outside the restaurant
but the ultimate no no.......the waitress who was lovely failed to return our credit card to us.
My daughter went in to ask for it and the manager refused to return it citing that she had to prove who she was........fortunately our waitress who was lovely identified my daughter and acknowledged it was her error
no wonder the restaurant was empty on Bastille Day

As always, had a very nice time. The service wasn't quite up to par this time. The waitress didn't tell us there were specials, no less read them to us. I noticed them on a blackboard after I ordered. I ordered linguine without realizing there were two on the menu, I think she gave me the appetizer special instead of the entree I wanted. I started eating before I realized, but it was delicious so I didn't say anything. They also had some very nice live music. I'll definitely go back, the place is so cute, still one of my favorites.

The restaurant is very cute however I was quiet disappointed by the food. The appetizer was tiny and tasteless. The dish was very average.

The restaurant atmosphere is perfect for a dinner with a small group of friends. But the food was only fair. Octopus appetizer the best of the evening. Short ribs overcooked. Trout bland.

Lovely lovely ambience. Mediocre food. That's all I can say.

Perfect for our group of 9 seeking a relaxing dinner to unwind, intimate ambience, lovely jazz trio but not too loud to talk. Small menu and smallish entrees (which were actually just right for us) with only a few appetizers added. All 9 liked their dishes...broiled octopus was outstanding and lamb shank special was tender and very good...mushroom risotto and other dishes got high marks.
