Anthony's HomePort - Kirkland Ratings and Reviews
The food is always fresh and delicious at Anthony's. I do like their spring and summer menu better than their winter menu though. The copper river salmon is available spring and summer and the black cod is delicious on that menu as well. Yesterday I tried something new. I had the prawn and scallop stir fry with kale and quinoa. It was very good however I think it could have used more quinoa. My son had the swordfish with rice and broccolini and ate everything on his plate. My husband had the dungeness crab cakes which he loved. My sons girlfriend had the seafood fettuccine with scallops, clams, shrimp and prawns which she enjoyed. We all started with a cup of clam chowder which was the thick and creamy type, and very tasty. Our server was good and we got our meals pretty quickly after we were finished with our chowder. We love to eat outside on the balcony in the spring and summer which overlooks Lake Washington. There are patio heaters which are running on cool nights. The whole back of the restaurant is windows with a great view of the lake. The bar is upstairs and also has a beautiful lake view.
Recently we enjoyed the Sunset Dinner menu meal we shared with an out of town guest. Service was impeccable and our food was delicious. I always order the blue cheese green salad with hazelnuts and shrimp cocktail but like to try a variety of entrees. Salmon with shrimp was wonderful. We really appreciated the number of gluten free menu options for our guest.
We had the Sunset Dinner ($24 per person before 6:00 pm). Excellent value; 4 courses includung appetizer, salad, entree and desert. Each course was excellent and served at the right time. Our witress was friendly, professional and inobtrusive. Truly impressed.
Service was absence most of the night. Forgot orders, got the bill wrong, and generally made it difficult to enjoy our birthday celebration. Food is over priced, but we know that whenever we go to Anthony's. We won't be back to the Kirkland restaurant again - the service was unbelievable poor.
Met friends for dinner here. Requested and received a table by the window - very nice.
Hubby ordered crab cakes and said they were good. I ordered a Caesar salad with dressing on the side, but it came drenched in dressing. Add to that the server brought additional dressing -yuck! I ordered the pan-fried oysters, and they were okay but would have tasted better if they were HOT! I don't complain because I don't want anyone to spot in my food - but gee whiz! So I ate lukewarm oysters - not good.
I've enjoyed a number of memorable meals at Anthony's HomePort over the years. My latest experience is a reminder of why I keep going back. I had an excellent Alder Planked Alaskan Salmon... cooked to perfection! The service was friendly and attentive. I can confidently recommend Anthony's to anyone desiring an excellent meal and dining experience. Not cheap--you get what you pay for ;-)
As usual, the service was very good. Unfortunately, the food didn't match up. The shrimp scampi was terribly over-cooked, the shrimp were so tough they were barely edible. Same problem with the seafood fettuccine, the shrimp and scallops were over-cooked. The surf and turf special was okay, not great.
Went for sunset dinner and was disappointed to find the shrimp in my meal was tiny salad shrimp instead of regular. In shrimp cocktail that is not very good. My boyfriend got steak and his was delicious though! Was busy as it was Friday night. Would come again but may not order anything with shrimp.
I have not been to this restaurant in years, but my husband comes to Anthony's (at a different location) for lunch frequently. We came to the Kirkland location to see what it is like for dinner. We were seated at a table overlooking the water, which was a pretty setting. The decor is outdated but somehow cozy and fits the waterfront environment. Our waiter was professional and friendly without being overbearing. The food was good and we enjoyed our choices but nothing was fantastic or really stood out, nor was anything bad or not enjoyed.
I will never go to Anthony's ever again. We had a reservation, but they did not keep it. We arrived 5 minutes early and they said they had become very busy and did not know when our table would be ready. This was for my mom's 88th birthday and she traveled up here from San Francisco. She wanted to go to Anthony's because of the view. Then 10 minutes later we asked again when our reserved table would be ready, and they said they could not tell us. So we went across the street to Milagro's and got seated right away without a reservation. I'm not going to sit and wait for a table that I reserved. I have told everyone I know not to go there again.
Requested window seating when reservation was made, while waiting to be seated, a man came up to hostess and said he saw table 14 was available and it was a window seat, he did not have a reservation, but hostess seated him at the window seat that I had requested. Did not seem or feel right!!
Wonderful experience! Beginning with the valet parking, great table seating near a window with water/boat view and got it, yes! The staff was great, very helpful, efficient and did not hover, thank you. Food was exceptional, my steak was perfect as was my friend's salmon. I particularly enjoyed the unique treatment of the accompanying vegetable dish of julianne carrots and chopped kale, it was delicious. All in all a wonderful evening.
The appetizers and the steak were delicious. I was disappointed in the salmon. It was a bit dry. They sat us in the front off to the side with a great view of the sunset. But during dessert a large party with 4+ noisy kids was seated behind us. Not their fault, but did ruin the ambiance.
Everything about our evening was average. The view on the waterfront is the best part about eating here. The noise level was a little high with a large party nearby and some kids with video games too. The staff was friendly although our server was a little odd, using a fake French accent for no apparent reason. The food was tasty enough. The decor was a little dated. All in all, it was fine.
My husband and I went to the restaurant with another couple to celebrate the wedding anniversary of theirs and ours together during the Seattle Restaurant Week. Then we found out "Sunset Dinner " of $21.95 was available because it was early thours for dinner.
We decided to try it and that was great.
Food was good. Staff was good. View was good. We really enjoyed the four course meal.
We will definitely go back again. Next time it will be with our children or grandchildren.
Too bad it took us for 30 years to come to this Anthony's Home Port in Kirkland. Although we have lived in Bellevue this many years we always went to Seattle to have seafood dinner. But not any more.
As always the food was very good and the nautical motif pleasant if a bit dated. Usually we receive excellent service, but on this occasion the wait staff was stretched a bit thin. One of our party is a vegan and the both the waiter and the kitchen were very accommodating. In all it is a very pleasant place to meet with old friends.
