Anthony's HomePort - Kirkland Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was very busy and very noisy.....due to the special of a lobster tail for $22.00. That actually was the reason we chose to dine there. Lobster was tough, cooked too long, bread, rice pilaf, vegetable were good. Our wine choice was disappointing as we had better of same wine at home ( vintage different year?) We shared an ice cream which was yummy flavor of carmel.
The best feature of the restaurant is the view (in summer) as we have the same view from our condo a few blocks away! Also our wait person was lovely .
Went for the lobster. Ate the lobster. Also ate a small piece of steak that was so tough I'm surprised it was being served. Though the chef did prepare it at a perfect medium rare. The veggies (grean beans in this case) were very crunchy. Reception was excellent - I greatly appreciate that they honored our 6pm reservation even though we were 10 minutes late. There will always be a place for Anthony's in my business dinner rotation.
The seafood in the island duet - coconut prawns and mahi mahi - was very good, nice & moist and not overcooked. The herb cream sauce on the lobster fettucini was surprisingly light, but the half small lobster tail was skimpy, providing only about 5 small bites, and a bit dry.
Walked in 15 minutes before our reservation, and we were seated within 5 minutes at a window table. Service was excellent. Went craving clam chowder, and was very satisfied with chowder, and our Surf 'n Turf meals. Tempura batter on the shrimp was so light and delicious! Also, our water glasses were never empty and didn't have to ask as our server was attending to our needs.
We had a reservation for 6:30 and while we arrived on time we waited, along with at least 3 other parties, for 20 mintues until they seated us. When we arrived at our table there were open tables all around ours. We then waited for a server for another 10 minutes.
Anthony’s was always a favorite of my parents for many years. One of my first dinners out when visiting them in Seattle was them taking me to Anthony’s. Since then we have celebrated many birthdays and other family visit occasions there. This visit represented somewhat of a closure due to the passing of my last surviving parent at age 99. It was a great way to have a small family “send off”.
The food, the service and the ambiance all lived up to memory. Price/value of the multi-course fixed price dinner (order by 6pm) was in our opinion exceptional.
My first time at Anthony's Homeport, Kirkland, this was an excellent experience; we had come with a long-standing friend for his birthday. Karen, our attendant, was superb, the ambiance was perfect, noise level (we did come early) low - and the food superb. I am a crab cake foodie, and the cakes were spot-on. My friend had the Mahi Mahi (excellent), and my wife had the appetizer crab cakes and a salad, excellent. In all a very nice dinning experiece. We'll be back.
My husband loved his clam chowder. We both loved the Caesar salad. I thought my Island Duet was a bit skimpy. The creme brule was not made-to-order because while it was heated on the top, the inside was quite cold, and not what I was expecting. Also, the service was quite slow this Friday night. I haven't been to this restaurant in over 8 years and that was for a weekend lunch so can't say whether the service we had was typical.
We went for the Sunday Brunch on Christmas Eve day. I was surprised that a plate of fresh fruit and blueberry coffee cake came before our meal. Staff was friendly. We were charged the wrong amount for one of the meals but the manager fixed it for us. I would go again!
Ambiance was good, server was okay, and management was very rude. We brought in a gift certificate that had expired, without realizing it was one day passed. The way in which the manager told us that we couldn’t use it made us feel as though WE had inconvenienced her. She was very snappy and unhelpful. Clearly needs to take a course on how to deliver bad news and how to make guests feel welcome. She was either having a bad day or needs to find a new career. We usually enjoy going to Anthony’s, but will not be returning to the Kirkland location nor will our families.
We had a great experience. It was a birthday celebration and they seated us at the best table for two in the whole restaurant by our standards. The service was great and our waitress did a superb job. We have always liked the food and quality and this visit still met our standards. Great value, great fun and a special evening!
We enjoyed a special date night out for us. We were seated a soon as we arrived. Our waitress was delightful and we discovered some interesting interests in our conversation with her. She was not overbearing at all. We loved the 2 appetizer dishes. The seafood fettuccini and cream fettuccini we both good but I wouldn't say excellent. The portions were generous so we didn't have dessert. We will return again some day. Thank you.
We always love dining at Anthony's. As usual the food was excellent. The ambience was enhanced by a stunning sunset over Lake Washington. The only thing we didn't like was the squash medley which accompanied the the main course. My husband and I are not big fans of squash.
