Excellent brunch this morning.
A longtime favorite. They were setting up a table for around 25 people and am glad we were finishing up, because that group started getting loud. A big round table next to us wasn’t to several people’s liking. We saw two groups sit there and requested to be moved. Not sure why. But they were loud and distracting. So a great place for groups, maybe not as romantic for two as it used to be. I would still go back though.
Love Anthony's! Their food is always top notch, and their seasonal options are great. We had rhubarb sauce on our fish and the rhubarb sorbet.
We celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary at Anthony's on May 17. It was an unforgettable experience. We loved every minute of it. Our waitress was very kind, thoughtful and efficient. The view is amazing. We loved it! Thank you!
We went in for a birthday dinner and had such a great time. The staff was attentive, super nice and very accommodating. I love this little gem in Des Moines.
I have always liked Anthony's HomePorts, especially the ones at Shilshole and Des Moines. They have consistently good food and service. I had not been to the Des Moines location for several years. Was glad to find that it is still a lovely place to enjoy a meal. I do wish they offered a few more vegetarian choices on the menu, but the vegetarian salad I had was very good. Clearly the chef gave some thought to the ingredients. In particular, the tempura artichoke hearts added a delightful crunchy element. The service was excellent even though they were quite busy.
This was my 2nd time visiting the Des Moines location and both times the service and food quality were first rate!
I ordered the seared Ahi Tuna, cooked rare. It was wonderful, and was served with a fruit salsa, With sides asparagus and rice. My wife ordered the Lingcod, with rhubarb coulis. It also was wonderful. It too was served with asparagus and rice.
Our server told us that the rhubarb and asparagus were grown by the restaurant. The rhubarb coulis was so good that my wife asked the server if she could get the recipe. The chef was willing to share the ingredients, but not the exact recipe (which is fine). Our server was helpful, attentive and friendly without being intrusive.
The setting at the Des Moines Marina offered beautiful views.
As a chef I must say the food was prepared excellently. Every inquiry I made - if the server did not have the correct answer - she asked the chef. Will book over and over. I hope other Anthony’s can hold a candle to Des Moines.
We always enjoy dinner at Anthony's. Great Food and great Service. An outstanding place to enjoy a wonderful meal. I highly recommend eating there often. We have been there many times as a party of 2, a party of 4, a party of 6 and a wedding dinner of over 30 people. Every meal was perfect.
Our water glasses smelled fishy. I know we're at a fish house but really? My drink was AMAZING, strawbery rhubarb margarita - WOW!! It was mothers day and we waited 45 minutes just to get our drinks. I know they're really busy on parents' day - again, but really? I got the standard fish and chips - eh, it was fine I guess. McGraths Fish House was WAY BETTER and charged half the cost. Wish they were still open!! We would have gone there. My husband got some cajun something or other - it was fine, and Mom got lobster, that was good. I believe we'll come for breakfast if we come back, their coffee crumb cake is really good.
My mom had a wonderful dinner on Mother's Day. Anthony's is her favorite.
Good food great waitress and the best table in the house with a excellent view.
I was disappointed with our experience at Anthony’s this visit. I’ve been treating my mom to Mother’s Day brunch there for years and our experience there was less than satisfactory. Our server felt uninterested and inattentive and my food came out not as ordered. We had to ask for creamer for our coffee twice and for refills on our drinks. The bathrooms were sticky and out of toilet paper and covers. We have always had a wonder time there in the past but this past visit really left us wondering what had happened to the quality of this establishment.
We had a 9:15 reservation for Mothers Day brunch and were greeted cheerfully and seated promptly when we arrived. Gloria was our waitress and she was excellent throughout and took our drink order first. Shortly after receiving our drinks she returned to our table with the fresh fruit tray and the warm blueberry coffee cake both of which were delicious! A little while later she came back and took our individual brunch orders. I had the Crème Brulee french toast as did my stepfather and both were truly delicious however we both agreed the entrees were a little on the cool side as if they had been sitting for awhile. My mom ordered the bacon and eggs and said they were very good, hot and tasty. So overall it was a very good dining experience and would not hesitate to return in the future.
The food was very good, fairly expensive, and service was kind of slow.
My husband and I enjoyed the ambiance overlooking the view of the water and our server, Joy had provided us great service! Their clam chowder was delicious, one of the best that we ever had and their shrimp fettuccine was very good, we plan to return back to Anthony's Homeport!
On a rare gorgeous late afternoon in May, we met some dear friends at this location overlooking the marina and Puget Sound. the scenery and weather made it a fantastic pre-Mothers' Day outing for our wives. Despite arriving a few minutes late, the wonderful and friendly waitress and staff accommodated us with the sunset dinner combination of dishes that we all enjoyed set off with a great bottle of wine and conversation as we watched a perfect sunset over Vashon Island.
Wonderful service and delicious food ad per usual!
Good restaurant for fresh seasonal seafood and quality service. The added plus is that they are on the water and offer an amazing view of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Highly recommend taking out of town clients, guests or family wanting to experience the sights and flavor of the PNW.
We ate at Anthony’s homeport on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 and had a wonderful dinner, experience as we celebrated our anniversary. Our server Tamiko was outstanding! She was friendly, knowledgeable and went out of her way to make sure we had a wonderful evening. Thank you Anthony’s homeport, we will be back.
Great food and customer service. The views are beautiful and peaceful
Unexpectedly good food and service.
3 of us had brunch on Saturday afternoon. It was a little chillier than expected and the outdoor seating was entirely shaded so after about 30 mins we moved to a table inside. The staff was totally accommodating and had a table immediately. Cocktails were good and featured rhubarb as it is in season. Overall menu selections were pretty small, lots of fried food and not much in terms of healthy options like entree salads. We thought they had a brunch menu but that turned out not to be the case. We had some crab dip & buffalo cauliflower to start and then I had the rockfish tacos. Crab dip was good, served with nice crusty bread but everything else was pretty bland. Buffalo cauliflower not spicy or tangy and rockfish tacos mostly good texture but not much flavor.
Our server, Q, was very attentive and friendly. He made our dinner a very enjoyable experience.
Met college friend for dinner. Hadn’t gotten together in about 34 years. Server was very understanding and didn’t rush us while providing great service. Food was excellent. I have never had a bad meal at Anthony’s.
Great food and service as always !
This restaurant is beautiful! They have comfortable waiting area, beautiful fire places, and wonderful views. The servers were fantastic, very attentive, sweet, and caring about your needs. We felt well taken care of. The food was incredible, and fresh. The unfortunate thing was you can't see what's on the menu before you arrive. The nice thing is that they pay for your parking if you validate on their machine.
Sunset dinners are wonderful. Too noisy! I requested a window table on the reservation app early in the day and was directed to a table crunched next to another away from the windows. After a brief disagreement, I was given a window table.
Our wait staff was not very helpful. We had to ask for bread basket, more water, napkins, and when we asked for menu explanations, she just indicated they were good. My father ended up with a small seafood pasta portion in a large bowl for $30.00 we ordered crab, but garlic was so salty , but we ate, as we were very hungry. Meal eas 130.00 dad stopped off at a fast food joint to get more food.
The host staff and our server was great! Food options were fresh and tasty, though the panna cotta wasn't good (too firm)
We went to Easter brunch today. The food was great, and the service was incredible from the receptionist to the bus boy, to the waitress. The manager even came by to make sure everything was ok. We love Anthony’s Sunday brunch because they bring fresh fruit and blueberry coffee cake while you are waiting for your meal. This brunch you order off a menu, it is not a buffet. Just another reason we love it.
Great view, and we really enjoyed our brunch. I will come back.
Lovely view, great food, especially the Baileys mouse, very nice ambiance.
Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive, best service! Food was great!
Not much busy, yet service was slow. Got 3 burnt cream for dessert, after the 2nd scoop you can tell it’s not fully cook. Made me sick after dinner.
The view at Anthony's Homeport in Des Moines is lovely, which makes the ambiance very pleasant. We had an excellent server (Tre) who took great care of us. The food was good, not great, but we all enjoyed what we ordered - and with a party of four we ordered different selections so we had a taste of most of the different courses. Food seemed a little slow coming out, especially considering the restaurant wasn't super crowded. I would recommend the restaurant, especially for a sunset dinner.
Nice restaurant in a great setting. The food was great and the service was very good. I’d go back again!
It is normally a really fun place to visit, but make sure you ask them ahead of time if they are hosting a large party. When we went there, there was a raucous loud party there that made talking to each other difficult at our table. Some of the guests with us had to take out their hearing aids because it was such a cacophonous amount of noise coming from the party they were hosting. The food was pretty great, and the staff tried to accommodate us as best they could. They did comp our appetizers, but honestly for such an expensive meal, I would have much preferred sitting somewhere else, or if they had simply told us there were no seats available, because it was unlike any previous experience I have had at Anthony's HomePort. Usually it's a very pleasant experience, and the aesthetics of seeing the setting sun in the marina is very peaceful and pleasant, but it was ruined this time.
I did have just had one issue on our visit. We had a reservation and asked if we could wait longer for a table with view. The young lady then took us to our table after a little bit longer wait and sat us in front of window but that looked directly at a column and to have a view I had to sit next to another column behind us. There was a table next to us that was perfect for a couple and was empty. I asked if we could sit there instead and she said, it isn't ready and rushed off. Well 5 minutes later it was ready for another couple. My husband and I have difficult schedules and had really been looking forward to our dinner with a view. Our server was quite nice but I was just really disappointed with the initial experience. We again would have waited and it was just a quick brush off. I would pass along to your front desk team to be more problem solvers and go the extra mile. There were no others waiting for tables at the time when she showed us to ours. And it was like, i have to hurry back to the desk.
