Anthony's HomePort - Des Moines Ratings and Reviews
I found a usability problem with Open Table needed to change my number from 4 to 5. I was not able to do so (I was able to change the number but there was no way to save it. I also asked on Open Table to do something special for my 93 year old aunt. It was not done.
The only criticism of Anthony's was it took a long time for our waitress to come to get our order.
I really enjoy Anthony's and return a lot (both Des Moines and Kirkland).
Garlic prawns more like over seasoned potatoes with shrimp. 5 "prawns" with a 5 cubed potatoes and green beans. Not worth it I wanted a lobster and there wasn't one available. My wife's salmon was excellent. No host so we sat ourselves I chose Anthony's over the crab pot and I felt like I chose wrong.
We had a most wonderful early evening dinner with you. The food was all done to perfection & most tasty with a nice variety, service was also top notch. The young man that waited on us, Alex Dean, continually checked to besure we had everything we needed. We have eaten in several of your restaurants & always loved them. We will continue to dine with you.
My husband and I took my parents to Anthonys in Des Moines Friday Oct 27 for the Sunset dinner. I felt the meal was over salted and the Sunset garlic prawn course meal was not fresh. Some part of this meal caused bodily discomfort. This restaurant has been a family favorite for decades. It might be time to find something different.
Prompt, professional and courteous attention by staff. Dining area was clean and well appointed. Server was well groomed, experienced, efficient and very knowledgeable of menu offerings.
Our salads and seafood selections were fresh, well plated with a good balance of quality ingredients.
Thanks to all for another fine evening.
This restaurant is always a great choice. The food is always delicious & fresh. The prices are on the higher than average side, so don't expect to get out of here for less than $50+ a couple. The one small complaint that I had on this visit - was the beer was not cold - and I like cold beer, especially with seafood.
Service was surprisingly slow, especially compared to past visits. Tables seated after us received drinks and bread before we did. We did not receive drinks and bread until we flagged someone down and asked for it.
I had specified a birthday celebration when I made the reservation, but that was never acknowledged.
The food was very good, as always. For the money, though, I do expect better service.
Our reservation was at 7:45. Had to wait for our table although we had reservations and not all the tables were full. At 8:30 we finally told the hostess that we were forgotten/ignored. Then a waitperson appeared. "Sorry for the wait" was the welcome. I had picked your restaurant as we had with us people from China. We wanted them to experience a nice restaurant, good food and water view. We are from Olympia but driving home from visiting downtown Seattle. We were so embarrassed with the lack of service I was ready to get up and leave. I left the table for a few minutes and was told we I returned the Manager had approached our table, apologized for the wait and offered complimentary dessert. Our dinner was moderately good. My dinner salad was soggy but other wise ok. We had to ask for additional hot water for our guests as that is what they drink instead of cold several times. Although the manager tried to make it right it just wasn't. I will not suggest Anthony's at Des Moines again, although I have taken other guests there previously at the way to SeaTac.
